The stupidest thing I have ever done was leaving my game running, this morning while doing some odds and ends around the house, and my little one deciding it would be fun to sell all of my chars stuff.. 25 ecto, a couple of really nice shields, a couple of decent weapons, my chars armor.. GONE!!

One of the more bone head things I have done recently is using a salvage kit on an unided sup vigor instead of my id kit, they will never be beside each other EVER again.

Let's see one more, while fighting some Mountain Trolls back in my farming days I couldn't figure out for the life of me why I was doing exceedingly little dmg to them with my axe, turns out I had forgotten to reset my skills and I had a whole 1 point in axe mastery, but if I had wanted to run past them I was golden! I was also using my less then stellar Sickle that I had been showing to someone just before the trip instead of my regular farming axe.

Whew! I'm not the only one.

I just realized yesterday that I did this with shields. I only have a strength based shield, but readjusted all my stats recently into tactics. It took me a week to realize what I had done because I was fighting in Grenth's Footprint and Sorrow's Furnace for the first time and it's supposed to be harder, right? I'm supposed to die a lot....

Hey how about this:

Yer at the Merchant and your game is laggin a bit. You know you have that Godly Uber 1337 Max Dmg H4XOR weapon in your inventory. Your inventory is also full of a buncha sellables. So yer clickin along.....get where I am comin from?

Suddenly, you arrive at two sellables and your 1337 max weapon. You are starting to lag and think perhaps the game didn't record your intent to delete so you click the button three times. Or maybe you made a mistake. Next thing you know is you see 1 pop away, two pop away and then ...NOOOOOOOOOOOO three pop away. OMG

Remember, be gentle when at Merchant or you will loose your stuff.

I was in Tombs for one of the first times and we found ourselves going against a team of Koreans in the first round. The leader pinged a target, I hit T and space. I realized that I was running a bit too far and tried to stop, too late---eight Korean Monks dropped me in less than a second. Needless to say I felt pretty damn stupid.

Most stupid thing I've done so far :

Playing a W/Mo in pre-searing - while selling stuff to the merchant, I sold everything.....including equipped weapons. Didn't realise until I went across the wall and aggroed a group of charrs and found I had nothing to fight with. I didn't last very long against them.

lol yesterday I accedentally double-clicked on my Ecto at the merchant

I was SO happy with my first ecto and I already had I buyer, but I needed to be so STUPID and sell it for 100 gold :P

Hmm lets see.

Going to crafter to get some coal made up for deldrimore steel and 15k armor.
Didnt read what the crafter made so after crafting all the needed coal then proceeded to craft aload of normal steel whilst chatting on vent, costly both in gold and time

Picking up a gold truncheon max damage off of 8 then using standard salvage instead of id kit.

Forgetting to change back into infused armor and going out as a tank to help guildies do Abbadons mouth mission.

I have had a max Dwarven axe and a max Serpent Axe back in the days when i just started playing. I never realised they where that rare untill i saw em again on one of my old screenshots a few weeks ago. Ofcourse i had salvaged em allready.

Stupid things I've done...

Tried Thunderhead Keep with a PuG.
Tried Ring of Fire with a PuG.
Tried skill capping with a PuG (c'mon, who's gonna stick around after they get their prize?).
Tried Fissure of Woe with a PuG.
Tried Underworld with a PuG.
Paid for the aforementioned FoW trip on my own.

Unfortunately I can relate to some of the stupid things done in the posts Ive read so far, but the only stupid thing that I really regret is deleting a character with loads of good items on them + gold to make space for a new char which I got bored with playing.
Ive since deleted that char as well, after many weeks of time spent only to create one similar to the first char. <THATS THE BIT I REGRET THE MOST!!

I was doing fine, until I bought two Expert Salvage Kits for no reason whatsoever... all it took was 2 clicks of a button to watch 800g disappear. To rub it in, I already had an unused one in my inventory... Took me ages to breach the 1k mark in gold *sigh* I just have to tighten my belt again... but at least I can wander around reassuringly in knowing that I have 3 Expert Salvage Kits on me!

You'll be ok. Just keep playing, later on the money won't be a big problem.

Unless you're trying for 15k armor, that is.

This thread has been here for a while, so I'm not sure if I told this story or not.

Early on - first character I was playing through. I had finally saved up enough money to do a Drok's run and get armor.

Paid my coin to the ferryman, paid my coin and crafting materials to the armorer. Had like 600g left over.

Stopped to talk to my wife for a few minutes, who had come to ask me about something. Got done, decided to start cleaning up my inventory....

..then realized that I hadn't yet equpiied my brand new armor. Salvaged it...

*sigh*

Live and learn.

i had to pay someone for a run to yaks 200g, i had 1k and told him i'd give him 1k and he had to pay me 800g back not realizing that you could just type in the immediate amount.....how neive i was....lol

i once found an ectoplasm and i didn't know what to do with it and i asked and someone said they would give me 1 000 gold for it, because they were useless but he needed it for a collection.. then i found out that at the time they were worth like 17 000

I deleted my lvl 18 Pre-Searing Mesmer.. What a shame, I didn't even take a single screenshot of him. No items/gold, since I gave that away, but still, what a shame.

Got a lvl 14 1/2 Pre-Searing Warrior now, hope I'll get him to lvl 20 one day

I'm pretty sure I had a max damage Tribal Axe. I equiped it and was like, "Hmm, don't remember seeing this axe before. It looks stupid." Kept it in my pack for awhile (don't remember why - probably just accidentally). Then I sold it to a merchant because to me "Tribal" meant it wasn't worth crap (like the sword). That was a few months ago. I played SF for a bit, then got bored. So a couple days ago I start playing again. I was checking out the forums here and found out about all kinds of rare axes that I didn't know existed/were sought after. Now I'm pissed, because that axe would have been worth plenty.

not possible. you have to upgrade it for perfect stas, they some at least 1 off from godly on one of the mods (like mine perfect but the grip, only +29)

great thread!

Some of the control things that really make you feel stupid now;

- realising that you can actually set hot keys for everything instead of clicking like crazy all over your screen for stuff to happen

- realising that you actually don't have to keep retyping the same sentence in chat over and over again if you want it repeated (ohhh the arthritis)
