I wonder what his Monk skill is, that means you have to go Wa/Mo? Or is he so retarded that he automatically conflates "Warrior" and "Wa/Mo"?
Let's have a giggle and see how much of "his" build we can figure out from the pic, shall we?
1) He's at 278 health, and by rough pixel count that's 133/182. His full health count is therefore 375, possibly 380 allowing for slight error on my part. That's consistent with using two Superior skill runes plus a Superior Vigor, with no other health bonuses.
2) He definitely has 20 max energy, not 21, so he's not using Glad's armour with a 15/-5 sword. I'd guess he's using full Knight's armour with one piece of Ascalon - probably gloves.
3) The top edge of his active shield appears to be a Crimson Carapace Shield, though I could be wrong. It can't be the +60/-3 while hexed shield, though, as his health isn't buffed. So either it's a +45/-2 stance shield and he's not in a stance, or it's the +45/-2 enchanted shield from the Maguuma Jungle. The latter is very unlikely; firstly because he's taking zero damage, which means his armour is buffed by at least 40, and secondly if he were enchantment based he'd be killing the Dryders first, but instead he's ignoring them. I think it's safe to assume it's the + 45/-2 stance. An outside possibility is that I'm wrong and it's a -2/-3 shield, but as I say, I don't think so.
4) He has one blanked out buff - no point in blanking anything else out. Since he has several Dryders on him, it can't be an enchantment. Since his health isn't pumped and the only shield he could realistically be using is the stance shield, it can't be a stance. That makes it either a shout or Dolyak Signet. Since we know that his armour is buffed by way more than 20 to get zeros all the way with base AL95 and without -2 absorb from the shield, it can't be Watch Yourself. That leaves Dolyak Signet - at at least level 14, to reduce damage to 0 - or Shields Up. I think it's the Signet, because it can be kept up indefinitely.
5) He tells us that his weapon is a sword, and we can see that it's a Zealous sword because he's getting +1 energy from a strike. I think he's running the standard Zealous of Shelter +7 with 15% stance.
6) His elite skill is found about 3/4 of the way into the game. That's interesting, because it means it isn't Hundred Blades. It's also (obviously) found in either the Desert or the Southern Shiverpeaks, not the Ring of Fire. Leaving out non-relevant skills, that means it's one of Warrior's Endurance, Battle Rage, Victory Is Mine and Defy Pain. He just hit for 65 damage to an already damaged Spider; without a multiple-hit damage skill he must already have been attacking it, so it seems very unlikely that he wouldn't be keeping up Battle Rage or Defy Pain because he has the adrenaline.
Warrior's Endurance is consistent with his maximum energy of 21, his high Strength score and with him not being in stance in midcombat (as it has cooldown). It also implies that he is using a monk skill, as there aren't too many warrior skills that you can't use indefinitely with just the Zealous sword. However, all the appropriate monk skills are enchantments - and we already know he's not using enchantments.
If he is using Warrior's Endurance, his bar will look like this:
Warrior's Endurance {E}
Dolyak Signet
Healing Signet
Watch Yourself
Sprint
Power Attack
Desperation Blow
Wild Blow
ViM is more consistent with a Sever/Gash/Wild Blow combo, adding in Desperation Blow for extra boost, but if he's using this combo he won't be using a Monk skill - he'd need to be splitting his stats between Strength, Tactics, Weapons and monk skill tree.
His bar here would be:
ViM! {E}
Dolyak Signet
Sever Artery
Gash
Wild Blow
Desperation Blow
Power Attack (Hamstring?)
Sprint
In either event, his attributes should be:
Strength 11+3
Tactics 10+3
Sword Mastery 10+1
The only possibility I haven't covered is that he may use Healing Breeze as a permanent counter to poison - it gives +3 regen even at 0 Healing Prayers. The WE build could even switch to 11+3 Strength, 8+1 Tactics, 8+3+1 Sword Mastery and 9 HP for a near-permanent +4 pips of regen even when poisoned. The reason I haven't covered this possibility is that as I said, his not taking down Dryders as an A-1 priority means he isn't relying on enchantments for healing.
Thoughts?

With this weapon/shield setup, I only need to use Physical Resistance (or Dolyak) to take -2 damage per hit and less.
(Thanks to kvndoom for his generosity in allowing me to borrow the shield)
I've been running these weapons with Mono's Build:
Sprint
Sever Artery
Gash
Galrath Slash
Wild Blow
Victory is Mine!
Healing Signet
Physical Resistance
Previously I was using the same build except Watch Yourself! in place of Galrath. The +9 armor from the +7 vs physical (instead of +5 armor) and the +7 on the shield really adds up, in fact it's almost half of what WY! gives you.
The advantage of this build is that you almost never need to use Healing Signet - which means you're saving yourself time by not using it on the 2 second "casting" time. Also if you kill a spider and have full adrenaline for the next, you can spike with SA, GS, Gash, WB and the next spider is almost immediatly down to 50% health.
I'm currently looking for a -2/+10 shield, as that would be optimal and might help to further damage reduction

What an evil thief. He also makes it pretty obvious that he's not done this run or played the game, given where he says Hundred Blades is. Good - that means we can get him pulled for falsely representing his item.

ok so now im having the problem with pulling correctly. Maybe ANet messed with it, or maybe its just cause im moved to European servers since america never seems to have favor...but:
I shoot an arrow at 1 spider. The WHOLE (all...50 or so) come at me. It seems impossible to pull groups of 3 at a time. Even when my aggro isnt touched by any of them as i pull

Seef II
Using line of sight helps. Any decent spider build can take the initial mass without problems.

When you try a pull, have you perviously aggroed any of them? I find if you've already been in their aggro once, it won't take much to get their attention again. If you were to literally let them all spawn, plug an arrow in the closest one and book it backwards, it should just take 3 of them.

Sometimes pulling takes a couple shots ive noticed, just be patient and keep trying...

PS: Im using mostly FOW in that pic (all but chest and waist, that is 15k dragons - my FOW chest had a superior axe rune in it), its a Zealous Wingblade Sword Of Shelter +7 r7, 15% stance, and a r10 -3 hex +8 pierce Eternal Shield. My max health was 380.

Hello, I would like to draw your attention to this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/Guild-Wars-Learn-...cmd ZViewItem
First let me say that I am aware that the subject I selected was inaccurate, however it made the 'best fit' criteria.
His auction (about a guide to the game Guild Wars) is misleading, and uses an image of mine without permission or notification. I have no relationship to the poster, and was unaware of his existance before I was directed to this auction. ( post: http://forums.gwonline.net/showpost....1&postcount=45 , page: http://forums.gwonline.net/showthrea...=388754&page=5 )

I am the user "Ubermancer" on those forums and have over 1,800 posts over the last year. Any of the site admins can vouch for that, and (most) any of them can vouch for my character.
This auction has caused some concern in this thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=77852
starting at this post: http://www.guildwarsguru.net/forum/s...&postcount=994
and adressed on these pages: http://www.guildwarsguru.net/forum/s...=77852&page=50, http://www.guildwarsguru.net/forum/s...=77852&page=51
My username is the same there, but it is far less well known on that site.
Due to the blatent lies in his auction (it took him days to come up with the guide (while he stole it from an online guide on the same subject), that thats him in the picture, etc) combined with the fact that his other active auction as of this writing is a possible phishing scam (used to steal someone elses game account), I would like nothing better then to see him banned from eBay... and the internet in general...
But I find it far more practical to kindly ask that you remove the auction offering a guide which is a direct rip from a free, publicaly available work of mine, in the interest of preventing him from violating whatever right I might have to that picture, but also to avoid scamming.
JAPH, Chris.
(oh, yes, btw, since I cant seem to leave a comment at that auction, please let itzvictor know that I will be watching ebay closely from now on, to ensure noone is trying to pass my free works off as their own to fuel nothing but greed)

Strategy guides aren't covered by this; NCSoft wouldn't have links to various GW strategy forums on the official website if they had a problem with those. Uber would get in trouble if he tried claiming his guide was Official, but that's a different offence entirely. Even if I'm wrong, he still won't get into trouble unless he tries making money from it like the eBay scumbag. Toll Booth Willie
What am I doing wrong?
I have been doing this run for several weeks but can't clear the spider cave. The beach is usually no problem and I get great drops there but the spiders.... Build is like most here w/me phys resist, heal sig, hundred, galrath, final thrust, sprint, endure pain and dolyak/wy. Almost always it goes the same way. I pluck off the outsid 2/3 dryders and kill then agro spiders. I can somtimes kill 1/2 groups if they are in packs of 3. But often there are skales close on both sides so I can't lead them off far. In fact I can stay alive typically no problem its just they won't die. There is always a spring close enough that they get healed. Does cyclone have a wider radius? I have always been a sword/hammer user but if I have to i'll try an axe I have 16 in sword 11 in tactics and 9 in strength ( i think, 16 i know is right) Any advise? from what i have read (probably 30 pages) alot of ppl get the good drops mostly on beach. I average 2-3 shards and one other gold/key on the beach so its not the drops i am after, I just want to be able to do it if i want, sigh... BTW thx Racthoh, this build alone has kept me playing guild wars. It will probably keep my attention long enough till factions comes out. Thanks my life is actually more fun because of your post (seriously) Kadaj
I'm not a master at this build but I might be able to help, I had the same problem at first, so I decided to kill off the dryders first, as my primary targets sine wastrels worry prevented me using the combo of high defense skills I have to make sure I have practically 0% chance of dying vs spiders on their own, meaning I can take on pretty much unlimited numbers of spiders for ever. Basically the only difference from my build to yours is the fact I take flurry, when combined with Watch Yourself! and the -2 when in stance shield, and cleave (I use axe instead, but the same principles apply) I can survive for long enough against 1 dryder and spiders spamming Flurry, Watch Yourself! and Cleave, this is the perfect combo for removing Wastrel's Worry as the recharge times fit almost perfectly with the times it is cast. Basically, kill all the dryders off first and you don't need to worry about luring the spiders out.

I had a lot of trouble while testing it this afternoon, alays dying while tying to escape from the Necro mobs. Degens always kill me while im running. Do i aggro too many of them ? Do i need to stop and spam healing signet ?

Not necessarily and yes, in that order. You can't avoid aggroing Skales most of the time, but you should only ever die to degen when you're boxed and a Skale wanders up or when you run from one pack into the next. With skill, you can even survive running from a pack of Skales into a Dryder.
Check your route before you move to avoid extra packs. Lambentviper
ok well i got it to pull fine. Maybe it was just a bug (no pun intended)

EDIT** Ok so i take that back; i just got 6 shards on my run. along with 2 gold chaos axes !
a driftwood DID drop a gold max req. shadow staff. +5 amor +18% longer enchant Oh yeah, i didnt want the shadow guys to kill him. That always messed with my runs Emik
Doing the same with an Axe build.
Slightly different skills ofcourse but still the same W/Me --------------- Healing Sig Phys Res Watch Yourself Disrupting Cyclone Axe Executioners Cleave{E} Sprint --------------- _____________ Inspiration: 4 Strength: 11+1=12 Axe: 9+1=10 Tactics: 10+1+1=12 --------------- Zealous Chaos Axe of Defense (stanced one) Grognar's Defender --------------- I originally started out as W/Mo but changed to mesmer along the way somewhere. Trying to keep my health as high as possible i only use minor runes. I made it to the beach on my first try. Killing all Snarlings and Doubter's on the way to avoid unneeded stress moments. Ok the spiders themselves take a tad longer but luring them towards you isn't exactly the hardest part. Had three gold drops, 4 shards and 2 chests on one run so i can say the expenses are well covered ^^ M C H A M M E R
Lol i do this all the time, just get into chest runs...thanks for the build racthoth. I would never have gone to fow again with out it ^_^

Drops have been extrodinarily strong for me recently. Not in terms of shards, but in about 8 or 9 days of farming only 2 times per day average, I had:
15^50 chaos axe req 13 15^50 chaos axe req 10 15^50 righteous maul req 11 15^50 shadow bow req 9 15^50 shadow bow req 8 Better than shards yes? Holy
hey wats this about the drops talk?? i ALWAYS get 2-4 shards a run and i do runs all the time...i have gotten 14 shards in about 6 hours of doing only FoW
...i dont get many golds but that doesnt bother me... o and btw i have posted a thread with my build on here ....if ur interested http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...88#post1173788 Across The Battle
Question: How is Racthoh's original build compared to A)The axe build B)The W/Me Physical Resistance build?
Im personally skeptically moving away from the original..cause hey its racthoh, but i was wondering everyone who has tested it's opinion Lambentviper
Racthoh's build is a nice one, and these "newer" builds are just examples of how people can take a great build, disect it, and find out what works for them. Which may in turn work better for some people. T
he W/Me build is a bit heavy on energy without a zealous mod, so its not for everyone who likes to spam like crazy, and some people just prefer axes. Rhuobhe

he W/Me build is a bit heavy on energy without a zealous mod, so its not for everyone who likes to spam like crazy, and some people just prefer axes. The W/Me builds I am familiar with are very light on energy, those are ones that use Phys Resistance and mostly adrenaline skills and/or ViM. The W/Me build I run is faster for me simply because I don't like spamming Healing Signet. With the build I'm running, I use HS probably once every minute TOPS. Racthoh's build is faster when it comes down to killing a spider though, its the almost constant HS use that bothers me. Opeth11

And of course, you can mix it all up with a W/Me with an axe and a zealous mod! >_>
You may not like it due to the fact that adrenaline charges slower compared to a build with flurry stuffed in to it. edit : and by 'you', I meant the reader. Sab
I don't have optimal equipment, so I need PS + Dolyak to reduce all the damage to -0. It works well, usually ~50 minutes to do a full spider run (comparable to most other builds here), plus I can take out the Abyssals and Rangers on the same run:
Hundred Blades (E) Power Attack Galrath Slash Final Thrust Healing Signet Physical Resistance Dolyak Signet Sprint Murder In China
Either something is wrong with my runs because whenever I'm farming the Spiders, they still use Healing Springs even though I'm attacking adjacent to them.

Its how your positioned to them that stops it, its extremely wierd, i try to get in the middle of a group and attack the most outcasted spider, if that makes sense?
Murder In China
That doesn't make sense.

As long as I attack all adjacent spiders once, they haven't been using spring on me. But maybe something's changed...
