Strategy guides aren't covered by this; NCSoft wouldn't have links to various GW strategy forums on the official website if they had a problem with those. Uber would get in trouble if he tried claiming his guide was Official, but that's a different offence entirely. Even if I'm wrong, he still won't get into trouble unless he tries making money from it like the eBay scumbag. Toll Booth Willie
What am I doing wrong?
I have been doing this run for several weeks but can't clear the spider cave. The beach is usually no problem and I get great drops there but the spiders.... Build is like most here w/me phys resist, heal sig, hundred, galrath, final thrust, sprint, endure pain and dolyak/wy. Almost always it goes the same way. I pluck off the outsid 2/3 dryders and kill then agro spiders. I can somtimes kill 1/2 groups if they are in packs of 3. But often there are skales close on both sides so I can't lead them off far. In fact I can stay alive typically no problem its just they won't die. There is always a spring close enough that they get healed. Does cyclone have a wider radius? I have always been a sword/hammer user but if I have to i'll try an axe ![]() I have 16 in sword 11 in tactics and 9 in strength ( i think, 16 i know is right) Any advise? from what i have read (probably 30 pages) alot of ppl get the good drops mostly on beach. I average 2-3 shards and one other gold/key on the beach so its not the drops i am after, I just want to be able to do it if i want, sigh... BTW thx Racthoh, this build alone has kept me playing guild wars. It will probably keep my attention long enough till factions comes out. Thanks my life is actually more fun because of your post (seriously) Kadaj
I'm not a master at this build but I might be able to help, I had the same problem at first, so I decided to kill off the dryders first, as my primary targets sine wastrels worry prevented me using the combo of high defense skills I have to make sure I have practically 0% chance of dying vs spiders on their own, meaning I can take on pretty much unlimited numbers of spiders for ever. Basically the only difference from my build to yours is the fact I take flurry, when combined with Watch Yourself! and the -2 when in stance shield, and cleave (I use axe instead, but the same principles apply) I can survive for long enough against 1 dryder and spiders spamming Flurry, Watch Yourself! and Cleave, this is the perfect combo for removing Wastrel's Worry as the recharge times fit almost perfectly with the times it is cast. Basically, kill all the dryders off first and you don't need to worry about luring the spiders out.

I had a lot of trouble while testing it this afternoon, alays dying while tying to escape from the Necro mobs. Degens always kill me while im running. Do i aggro too many of them ? Do i need to stop and spam healing signet ?

Not necessarily and yes, in that order. You can't avoid aggroing Skales most of the time, but you should only ever die to degen when you're boxed and a Skale wanders up or when you run from one pack into the next. With skill, you can even survive running from a pack of Skales into a Dryder.
Check your route before you move to avoid extra packs. Lambentviper
ok well i got it to pull fine. Maybe it was just a bug (no pun intended)

have the drops been weak recently? I did 2 or 3 runs with no shards.
Lambentviper
EDIT** Ok so i take that back; i just got 6 shards on my run. along with 2 gold chaos axes
![]() a driftwood DID drop a gold max req. shadow staff. +5 amor +18% longer enchant ![]() Oh yeah, i didnt want the shadow guys to kill him. That always messed with my runs Emik
Doing the same with an Axe build.
Slightly different skills ofcourse but still the same W/Me --------------- Healing Sig Phys Res Watch Yourself Disrupting Cyclone Axe Executioners Cleave{E} Sprint --------------- _____________ Inspiration: 4 Strength: 11+1=12 Axe: 9+1=10 Tactics: 10+1+1=12 --------------- Zealous Chaos Axe of Defense (stanced one) Grognar's Defender --------------- I originally started out as W/Mo but changed to mesmer along the way somewhere. Trying to keep my health as high as possible i only use minor runes. I made it to the beach on my first try. Killing all Snarlings and Doubter's on the way to avoid unneeded stress moments. Ok the spiders themselves take a tad longer but luring them towards you isn't exactly the hardest part. Had three gold drops, 4 shards and 2 chests on one run so i can say the expenses are well covered ^^ M C H A M M E R
Lol i do this all the time, just get into chest runs...thanks for the build racthoth. I would never have gone to fow again with out it ^_^

Drops have been extrodinarily strong for me recently. Not in terms of shards, but in about 8 or 9 days of farming only 2 times per day average, I had:
15^50 chaos axe req 13 15^50 chaos axe req 10 15^50 righteous maul req 11 15^50 shadow bow req 9 15^50 shadow bow req 8 Better than shards yes? ![]() Holy
hey wats this about the drops talk?? i ALWAYS get 2-4 shards a run and i do runs all the time...i have gotten 14 shards in about 6 hours of doing only FoW
...i dont get many golds but that doesnt bother me... o and btw i have posted a thread with my build on here ....if ur interested http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...88#post1173788 Across The Battle
Question: How is Racthoh's original build compared to A)The axe build B)The W/Me Physical Resistance build?
Im personally skeptically moving away from the original..cause hey its racthoh, but i was wondering everyone who has tested it's opinion Lambentviper
Racthoh's build is a nice one, and these "newer" builds are just examples of how people can take a great build, disect it, and find out what works for them. Which may in turn work better for some people. T
he W/Me build is a bit heavy on energy without a zealous mod, so its not for everyone who likes to spam like crazy, and some people just prefer axes. Rhuobhe

he W/Me build is a bit heavy on energy without a zealous mod, so its not for everyone who likes to spam like crazy, and some people just prefer axes. The W/Me builds I am familiar with are very light on energy, those are ones that use Phys Resistance and mostly adrenaline skills and/or ViM. The W/Me build I run is faster for me simply because I don't like spamming Healing Signet. With the build I'm running, I use HS probably once every minute TOPS. Racthoh's build is faster when it comes down to killing a spider though, its the almost constant HS use that bothers me. Opeth11

And of course, you can mix it all up with a W/Me with an axe and a zealous mod! >_>
You may not like it due to the fact that adrenaline charges slower compared to a build with flurry stuffed in to it. edit : and by 'you', I meant the reader. Sab
I don't have optimal equipment, so I need PS + Dolyak to reduce all the damage to -0. It works well, usually ~50 minutes to do a full spider run (comparable to most other builds here), plus I can take out the Abyssals and Rangers on the same run:
Hundred Blades (E) Power Attack Galrath Slash Final Thrust Healing Signet Physical Resistance Dolyak Signet Sprint Murder In China
Either something is wrong with my runs because whenever I'm farming the Spiders, they still use Healing Springs even though I'm attacking adjacent to them.

Its how your positioned to them that stops it, its extremely wierd, i try to get in the middle of a group and attack the most outcasted spider, if that makes sense?
Murder In China
That doesn't make sense.

As long as I attack all adjacent spiders once, they haven't been using spring on me. But maybe something's changed...
