Say you have 3 spiders lined up horizontally right in front of you. Unless they are bunched up real close you will not be able to attack the one in the middle because the 2 on the sides are going to spam healing spring. I can probably draw this better than I can explain so here it is. The "X's" are the 3 spiders. You are the "v" and should be attacking the underlined "X". This way you are close enough to both of them and they will not cast heal spring. Its pretty simple, I dont even position them anymore. If you let them all come out of the cave and fan out, you should never have a healing spring problem. Just watch for the skales that like to hobble over to the mouth of the cave

Again I can not thank Ractoah enough for the build and guidence. Had my best run every last night. Got 5 shards, 2 Golds one being a Max Sundering Shadow Blade of Fortatude, but I wanted to get some other info.

I have seen in some of the posts where sometimes people will after the cave go to others areas either to find chest or to just try to finish filling their invetories. What areas are you talking about and how do you get to them?

Here are a couple of ideas, once at the end of the cave go out a little and a couple of
shadow beasts will pop-up, and sometimes a chest just beyond them, back into the
cave and take them out, you will need an interrupt skill to help out, just do not
attack them when you have SS on you, they really can't do much damage. Other thing is
to run over to the Wailing forest and solo it, the run can be tricky, and you will need
ele. res. or mantra of lighting to take on the spirit shepherds, and platemail armor
helps alot, if you want to try all this and use an axe this is the skill setup I take
for it along with my platemail armor in inventory :

sprint, disrupting chop, cleave, cyclone axe, watch yourself, healing signet, phs. res.,
ele. res.

XvX X In order to attack them you have to be VERY close in order to do so, but they still use Healing Springs.

Keep in mind that once they start casting it they will not stop even if you run up close to them. Maybe thats what is happening to you. Its rare for 3 or even 2 spiders in the same group to start casting healing spring at the same time.

Once they cast it there is nothing you can do but wait that 10 seconds.

I normally aggro all of them them get them to ball by the wall so I can cyclone them all to death but last time I tried they still use HS. Maybe it was just bad positioning that time anyone got any specific comments for aggroing them to ball?

my advice would be not to ball them at all. I find that they wont use HS when you are within a cyclone axe distance from them. If my CA hits them, they wont use...probably knowing that they could get interupted.

This run took me several attempts before I finally made it to the cave. I still die sometimes on the way across the beach.

Why are so many of us banned?

jus want to say thanx to ractoh and everyone else with builds and tips.. been practicing this today, took a while but i got to the cave but no inside yet lol, im using the W/Me build w/ Swords

for the record i was within melee distance of 2 spiders and they used healing spring, range on it doesnt seem that big tho so if im in the middle and one does it i dont really need to worry about it as it has no effect on the one im killing.. only prob im having is the skales near the cave, but might try bringing dolyak and running into the middle and see if i do better like that.. damn skales!

ultimate if ur only gonna try a couple times ull never perfect it, if it was easy it wouldnt warrant a thread of this size

for an axe build wat mods are necessary? zealous? and if poss could u give a rough est of price.. also do u reckon its easier then a sword build?

Having a +10 Piercing/-2 Stance shield wouldn't help that much, I'd rather have the 300k instead.

About Healing Spring and spiders, I found that standing adjacent to one (in GW terminology) is enough to stop it from using HS. It's easy to overestimate this distance, so if a spider starts using HS, you're too far away.

I use a -2 stance/-2 hexed shield for the run and against Dryders, switching to Grog's Shield against ACSs only, and I still take zeros almost every time. Dolyak Sig is overkill.

Nevermind the exaggeration. Anyways, Watch Yourself steals one strike of adrenaline from Galrath/Final every 9-10 seconds so I prefer something that's free to use and more effective (and makes all of the spiders' arrows -0, Healing Sig or not).

I've wasted at LEAST 100K on keys, and probably found another 30K worth or so.

When I do this, I use 15 str, 12 swords, and 11 tactics. I just tried using Frenzy instead of Flurry and had no problem, as long as I only aggroed 2 dryders at a time.

but jamy's a newb and he just likes frenzy! (j/k)

But nah I can't .seem to kill the spiders, i hear that they do no dmg with all the stances and stuff butthey still kill me, I also use balth's insted of zealous hilt. seems to work well. but I started today and made 12 plat killing no spiders, so just gettin there makes a profit.

Heal before your health hits 50%, I bet you are fighting to much and not healing
enough, I find soloing high lvl monsters require a "focus" on healing at right times
when starting out. Don't worry about how fast monsters are dropping or I almost have
this one dead, just a couple more hits, you risk yourself doing that. Go try and solo
Titans out of LA for awhile and them throw blind on you and you will quickly get an
idea of healing versus fighting.
