I believe this is why the site is slow during the day hours.....
Now I have anything against the unregistered users but I do believe if you made it registered only, you'd probably get more users to sign up and at the same time lower your bandwidth usage.
That's just my suggestion.

Just a few more days until the new server is going to be here. We are working on making this move before the Jan. 20th update. I will be sure to make a news announcement when the time comes.

The server is ok for me, i either go on at 9am, 5pm or 10pm GMT, it is ok at all times but at 10pm for me it can take it's time, but is working great at the min (10pm here)

I would bet that a good number of people who aren't registered just go to the price check and merchant forums. Maybe just making those registration only?

Inde was stating in another thread here in this section that slowness is not due to bandwidth. Any slowness you expierence recently has been due to many users requesting the same database, ect, ect. Basically server overload. They have a new server coming that should ease the load on the current one and make everything a bit better. If im incorrect, please correct me

Brutally slow, unusable at the moment. Cant get more than 2 pages into the auction listing 'fore it all goes to crap and locks up. A the current moment, there are 1180 people online, 750 guests, 430 users. Love the site, and the auction, but as it is now I'll check the site once or twice a day for the last week and it has been unusable. Really late at nite 4:30-5:00 am PST it is useable but thats at 5:00 in the morning, and I still get random lock ups every 4th or 5th page. Dont get me wrong Im not ragging, just feedback for you. Hope things get sorted soon, best of luck with it(no sarcasm intended). Sents

k some server settings just have to be tweaked, I swear there is no load at all and page generation time is below 0.2 seconds, this new server is good It just needs to be adjusted to fit all the people coming in

I also got the long loading page when i attempted to post a reply here. (its just blank with the guru background and suddenly pops up.) it also happens on the index page just like u said

For some reason, I get a message saying that the server can't be found whenever I try to access GWguru from my computer. I'm using a library pc right now.

You may have to access it from http://38.99.233.252 until your DNS updates then.

Err, server seems to be having issues? I often get the "page cannot be accessed/found" whatver it is... like every few minutes i click on a link. Just a heads up on what i have been experiencing...

I'm experiencing the same problem. There is a good 10 seconds where I just see that brown background before everything loads up. Same when doing a reply.

If you are seeing the IP address, you are most likely being forwarded as your DNS hasn't updated yet. ISP's can take up to 24 hours to update so not really in our control. This could be where the 15 second load is coming from. I'm leaning toward that this will be resolved by itself.

Speed is much improved from about 9 pm pacific. Couldn't access anything then, so gave up and did something else. lol

Alexi, that's the new server IP. I wonder if you're being forward or bounced from DNS entries. I've had an ISP before that had one DNS updated but not the other

People should realise that theres very few people on atm, Right now theres 400 reg, 170 guests, the other day there was 1100 people on, 700 were guests, so people arent finding the site.I dont think we can really judge the server response 'accurately'. A quik post dont mean much when theres 400 people on(I realise it was a BUSY weekend).
I for one cannot get to the auction, Im not new to this kinda thing, I know the backdoors but they are closed too. Still having to us the IP to get to the forums, and the auction is unaccessable. Honest feedback.
