the 480 will beat the 5870 in most benchmarks/games, if you have a beefy PSU and good cooling in your case I would get the 480 if it is the same...

the 5750 won't off all that much more performance over your current 9800 GT - i't s essentially a 4850 which is a notch above the 9800GT...
it looks like you may have a corrupted gw.dat file - or overheating, but if it's overheating in GW it would do the same in Crysis for sure.
