You don't have to worry much about video card temperature unless they're over 90-100C. 58C is fine, 60-70C is about average under full load.

Try the 169.xx version of Nvidia's graphics drivers. The 17x drivers are VERY unstable for 8600 video cards. The drivers before 169 crashed...
