Additionally, Vital Boon is a good skill to use for the purposes of self-rending. One of very few, though.
E/D doesn't have Mysticism... so that's not an option. Really, the only thing you can rely on is Myst skills that work with a 0 attribute...

The only healing I have with AoL is Victorious Sweep... and that's really for the damage rather than the HP.
Getting SM as high as possible improves damage/crits a bit, which is why I actually do it... not in PvP, because life seems much more important...

Not quite. At high levels of scythe mastery you can actually push the max damage beyond 50, and I'm pretty sure the bonus damage only works...
