Had ~80k and 43/50 when calculator came out. Accumulated over 2kk of gold in ~a week. Got ~140k, 50/50 and helped friends in getting their HoMs...
You have to witness Zinn's Trial, so yes, you have to complete Zinn's Task after completing EotN or Prophecies.
It consists of three quests, not missions. Please refer here for complete guides and walkthroughs on how and where to do them.
