Indeed, it damages as well for no cost whatsoever. Besides, a merge of comfort and charm animal has been suggested many, many times already.

It would make sense, but there's so many things that don't make sense due to balance and I like it this way, really.

To be honest, I wouldn't even bother on trying. It's worth practically nothing, sell it to the merchant.
