Linen is found by using an expert salvage kit on charr shaman gear (and other higher quality gear). The starting town is Ascalon....even in post...
The next one starts at the ruins of Surmia.
You can raise minions only from fleshy corpses. Skeletons, elementals etc will not yield a minion.
There is a collector right outside Ascalon city that will give you a belt pouch. And there is one in Ashford Village as well. Cloth and fur....go...
