From my experience, foes are too spreaded to be hurt by icy veins. if you really wanna use it, try it with soul barbs. A fun team build with that...

you need a snare or your target can just run away and only take blood of the agressor's damage. otherwise, it's a good idea.

to avoid aatxes risposte, bring a spear. switch to your sword when deadly risposte is nearly recharged.
