Male necros > Female necros. Though the female necros have cooler hair... all the females have cooler hair though, heh.
As for cR4zY-n^, who seemed to insinuate I was 'pretending to be a guy'; I wasn't aware that a computer generated, technically asexual, human shaped avatar that raises beasts from the dead and consumes the lives of others (not to mention the whole mass murder and slayage thing) was a well rounded interpretation of my real life self. I'm allowed tolike the like the guy avatars more than the girls, no? I like that my characters don't always have to like strippers and like I said, it's nice to wonder the world without being bothered by the perverts

But girls in disguise is bullshit. I knew so many girl gamers that didn't play as male and they were never molested in any way. Whole life I hear by some shitheads that girls are this girls are that... and what you see? Females raising above rest and arguining over that... but what you see THEN? Girls pretending to be male, what's the point?!! -.- Get real, 'cos I bet if I said smtn against females I'd have few on my neck right now, so don't pretend you're not the one. xD |
First, who gives a crap whether your avatar is male or female? I have 3 male characters and 2 Female characters and I don't roleplay so it doesn't matter at all what sex they are. Girls in disguise, guys in disguise, maybe if you tried to do your dating in the real world, you'd care as much about that kind of stuff as I do
Second, girls play male characters because of a lot of what you've read in this thread....if you've actually read anything here. Many people, both girls and guys, don't want to subject themselves to the throngs of rampant horny idiocy that you will find on pretty much any online RPG. I've had a bunch of it directed at me and my characters. Honestly I don't care but I would say ANYONE who doesn't want to deal with being hit on at all should make a male character. It's stupid but it's true.
Last, seems that it doesn't take you saying something against females to have a few people on your neck. All you actually have to do is type without thinking

As for girl playing as male character and guy playing as girl, i know this is true since i meet several peoples who do that.

I know that many of these immature gamers will say "you play as gurl chars so ur gay!" I couldn't disagree more. I personally think it proves that I am much more mature and "manly" to be able to make characters of the opposite gender. I think that these guys who only want to make male characters, seem a little odd that all they can think about is male characters.
So it's good to have at least one character of each gender, gives some extra variety.

I have a whole collection of screenshots of my characters getting other people's characters in compromising positions.

I was wammoed once, but it was my male ranger o.O. I was afk at the abby in pre, I moved and he moved, so I just stepped in to the catacomb zone.

That story was so funny I almost cried. I'm a W/Mo no less, but not a rude wammo thankfully.

Male Wammos molesting female characters? That's NOTHING.
As I posted in the jerks thread long ago, one time I was in Bettleton, and I was kneeling near the east exit and went AFK for a bit (with a male Warrior by the way).
I came back to find a naked male warrior humping my face.

Kind of ironic to be saying about pervs when most female characters are in fact played by males (of all ages) - and admit it or not the number 1 reason is for oggling at

Anyway, on topic:
I think there are a ton of Wammos because that is what teenage boys play (and mostly poorly, which is why wammos have a bad rep).
I just created a Female Ele (my other characters are male) and have started to run into some of this. So far whispering "go away child, you are talking to an adult" has always succeded in sending them packing.

On the other side, a few minutes in piken square being gangraped was enough for me to drop female characters too.

I'm staring at this avatars back all day, might as well make it something worth staring at.
My female warrior has the Kurzik armor just for that reason. Then my female ele has the Luxon, although I'm not sure what it protects. I prefer the Krytan full leather for my ranger and MM gets the Kurzik, which really doesn't highlight anything. My female rit has both the exotic for healing and luxon for channeling, which both are pretty nice looking, the exotic looks interesting when wet.
Oddly enough my only male, a Monk, I don't care what he wears, probably becasue when I play him I look at the health bars and not him.
I guess when people say you are gay for playing a female charater, and looking at a wariors fat butt all day means...what? Which is why A-net has never added more pixels to the wariros cod peice.

Didn't say there was anything wrong with it, just that it's a bit much for
1) a real life male, playing a female character - for really just aesthetic/sex appeal reasons
2) said male(s) think it's strange other males partake in some tomfoolery... aside from it's hardly a serious thing (for most), the terms pot, kettle and black spring to mind... it's kinda like "hey, that character is for me to oggle at! i'm offended other guys somehow wanna behave in a boorish manner towards it"... not really much in the way of a leg to stand on, in that sense lol
edit: oh yeah and to get really political and feminist about it, it's easy to argue that males playing female characters (typically the scantily clad bikini variety) are in fact themselves doing nothing good in the sense they are perpetuating the viewpoint that females are just objects for their form to be oggled at. (note: this paragraph was meant in very tongue-in-cheek fashion, i'm not taking this thread at all seriously lol)

Ya know, I'd almost start a call out to all females to start harrassing the guys in the same way, but they'd like it.
Still, it might be worth a try in some instances.
In all seriousness, when it gets to be a problem with my characters, I leave either the town or district, whichever. Usually the character performing the offensive behavior isn't going to stop, even when confronted, simply because they're socially maladjusted in the first place.

I've done the human shield trick with my mesmer. Hid inside a huge warrior, only for the pursuing wammo to KEEP dancing....
Needless to say the conversation between my human shield and the wammo got very interesting...
I really need to make all my characters male :-/

I think half the problem would be solved if the men who played female characters dressed them a little more modestly, rather than going for the female ele desert collector's armor and /dancing away in Shing Jea American d1.
You can look good and pretty at the same time - see 15k kurzick female mesmer armor.

Have you seen Pre-Searing lately? I just started a new PvE and oh my god, there were some people putting on a 'porn dance show'. It involved one female ele and one female ranger stripping down and dancing. It was horrific, but alas some people did watch it, mostly wammos, who proceded to get up onto the steps(wher the 'show' was) and wammo'd the dancers/performers. Cringable.
Shadow of Light
The pre-searing strip teasers have been at it for months. Some of them even ask for money for their performances.

seems like W/Me has more charm than wammo (Im W/Me at the moment)

just make a male ranger and dance, aka spin kick, there is 1 way of using the kick nut emote.
or make a male ele and dance, the kick is another variant of the kick nut emote.
ok enough with the jokes,
Again i prefer some of the female models over the male ones (i'm a male). For example the male mesmer is weird, and looks fat, same with the monk.
And people who wammo people are just immature 12 year olds.

If you look closely at the GW: Factions game box you will see this following lable: "Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to play"
If you are wondering where it is, it's on the back side and it's right above the Arenanet and NCsoft logo

Sometimes, I'll back away from their character a few feet and /violin. Works about 50% of the time. Also got some pretty bad verbal harassment that way, though.
Ugh. And the kids honestly have no idea how unappealing that pelvic-thrust dance really looks. "You are so sexy" is NOT the first thing on my mind. Maybe I'm just a little jaded from getting this when I used to do a lot of clubbing.
I ended up deleting my finished-the-game Ele weeks before her first birthday because of the combination of the AoE nerf and the harassment. With her, it was more of a constant stream of public and whisper chat asking me to dance. Factions has changed it, but at the time, there wasn't any single non-skimpy non-striptease armor to be had, and the belly dance was just too much. Don't get me wrong, I've taken a couple of classes in it in real life, but it really didn't belong in this game.
3% -- probably about the same percentage as female players with male warrior toons.
I wish every man could experience the flip side just once. Maybe there'd be a whole lot more respect to go around.
Huh?
Most I know have at least one male toon that they can resort to when they get fed up with the crap that goes on. I currently don't, but only because I prefer to keep my options open for role play (although there isn't a whole lot of chance of that in GW, especially lately). And maybe a little vanity too, I suppose. The thought of my character having that big Warrior beer gut gives me the creeps. Ewww...
That's what we need the /kickinthenuts emote for.

Uh-huh. If we don't like it, we should be the ones to leave. Great advice, there.

It's is only warriors that are the problems, due to their dance. Of course, about 80% of the warriors out there are W/Mo, and so the point about them being wammos is quite valid.
