As I did the layer comparison starting from the northeast, I found a couple tiny bits of fog, which brought me from 99.6 to 99.7. Then I panned over to Barbarous Shore, and it turned out I was missing a huge chunk: all of the terrain east of the river! So what happened was I only had to begin unfogging it and I was already at 100%. I finished it anyway, if the title still counted past 100% I'm sure I'd be at around 100.5%

Well thanks to SilentVex i'm now at 99.1%...I've gone back and re-edged a whole load of areas (in fact i think i've been over most of the continent twice now >.<) but not getting any more. So..i think i must have missed a whole chunk somewhere. Anyone take a look and see if they can see what i can't? Thanks

I found a variation on the ALT-TAB method that made me spot the differences easier than using GW.

* Loaded full map into Photoshop
* Drawn up U Map to a full page in GW, ALT-PRINT'ed it and used New, from clipboard in Photoshop
* Cut the canvas down to remove the border
* CTRL-A'd and pasted it into the full map
* positioned it appropriately on the same spot as the original map
* Turned on and off the Layers between background and layer 1

This is basically the same as the ALT-TAB, but while i haven't found anything anymore on this method, i saw four spots on "my" method.

Thoughts?

I don't think that I missed any spot on Istan, neither in the Desolation, but as I didn't find anything anywhere, youd better check out every map. Sorry for the inconvenience of those tips...

edit: btw as asked in an earlier post how do you get the obelisk to fall across the sand in the Sulfurous Wastes. It is right by Sahlaja and I know I dont have that spot. There are quite a few Margonites and someone offering a quest. I've managed to kill some Margonites with the wurms and wiped out everything else in the area. Is there a quest or some other pre-requisite that I either skipped, forgot, or just missed? I got another .3 alt-tabbing some more but now am at a wall.

I still see only the section just outside Sahlaja or whatever. I see the obelisk on the map even looks like its tipped over but its standing and I dont know how to knock it over.
Any other little spots would help. As I understand it even non-Elonians actually have about a .5% fudge factor so Im sure there are a couple spots I cant find.

Got it. Got my KoBD with it also kinda nice. Thanks for the 100% maps to look at, much easier than either Tyria or Cantha though harder to see some differences.
Still HAVE NOT gotten across that monolith near Sahlaja.......

Got mine too - 3rd Map Title now, and on balance - this map is much kinder than those pf Cantha and Tyria. The last 0.3% came from outside Chantry near the fortress and a missed bit on the floodplain! I was on 99.9% and got very excited when I read here about the low level arena - alas it made no obvious difference (albeit I could only get in starting area). Towns seem to reap plenty of % - and there is a little corner in Chantry Of Secrets near waterfall where you really have to "wiggle". This forum really kept up my belief and that is sooooooooo important - cos chasing those last few % is a lonely anti-social pursuit - so thanks to everyone who has contributed! Ok- off to conquer Masters now!! See you in the XXXXX Explorers League!

I was thinking of a resolution around 6000 * 4500 or something like that..

I havent seen one like that yet, and there was a lot of them for cantha exploring map..

Plz post a link if it's already made, otherwise plz post a link when it is made..

The missions where you need a specific hero, if you don't have that Hero you can still enter the mission - just team up with someone who does have that Hero. At a couple of points in the story it branches depending on a choice you made earlier (Master of Whispers or that corsair ranger woman) but so long as you team with someone who has one of them you can get into the missions.

You can also go back and do them after finishing the main story apparently (access to all Heroes)

Just tried this again........ couldn't even walk up the stairs. I did this the first couple of days of NF release, may have been a graphic glitch, etc.
Having looked at my map in that area and comparing to those with 100% they look the same.....so I guess that is as good as it will get, only Anet knows why this is closed off.

You must be missing huge amounts of areas to have that much missing. Hell, I was at 99.6% today and just got 0.4% when I finally started looking close up on Livingston's map... I was surprised how many places I could find that weren't uncovered if you use the ALT+ENTER trick...

Ive been comparing my map to Livingston's and running to any areas I could find.
Its been 5 hours and I only managed to get 1.3%.

I've attached my map, I'd be really grateful if anyone would be able to help me find any areas I've missed.

3% is a Huge portion missing but I just can't seem to find it.

Currently at 96.7%

hey guys, I got my 100% elonian gmc title yesterday! I am at work so I cannot post a pic, you will just have to take my word for it. I was at 99.8% and then beat the game and wammo - 100%. This title was pretty easy as long as you map every area as you go. Tyria and Elona done, just Cantha to go, only got 93.5% there. Guess where I am gonna be for a while, hahaha.

Hey guys

I've wall hugged all through, and am currently at 98.9%. I don't have a U-map made up yet, but I had a couple questions which might be helpful for everyone (and maybe you can post at the start of the thread).

1) Are there any areas that add to your % once you enter the vortex?

2) Are there any missions that take you to an area that is inaccessible UNLESS you do the misison? (I ask this because I know I haven't completed half the missions yet :P).

What is your "secret" to those spots?
Tried ALT-TABing and it just looks the same, so probably it would be "hard to see" as well.

Edit: 99.9% .. and um. i haven't done a thing, honest. I was just out skillcapping this is even more frustrating than if i had done this intentionally.

Thanks 1. Yup, sort of. None of the area in Vortex Land counts, BUT once you beat the game you then gain access to the back area of Chantry of Secrets.

2. Yes again, the specific one that I am aware of is Poghan Passage, which normally has its fortress locked up tight. It is, however, open during the mission. Also Dynastic Tombs, accessible only from its challenge mission.

Finally got it after about 20 or so hours of hard work. Got to 99.9% by finding every single like part of the map. I even had a few tiny bits that weren't on the supplied 100% map. Here's the screenie.

I just mapped "Crystal Overlook" that counts for 2.5 to 2.6% to give you an idea of size vs %.

I 'm now at 92.5%

Been pouring over Livingston's map and my own.
Ive managed to reach 98.8%

Only problem is I don't seem to be finding any more spots on his map that I don't have.
I've re-run every area now, hugging al the walls and in 3 hours I'm still at 98.8%.

Starting to go slightly mad here. My guild mates think I'm obssessed with trying to get 100%.

Still .2 to go for GMC... getting there. I've been wallhugging a couple zones again, but i find most % in the middle of areas. Can't really see any difference on the map but when i run through the middle of the zone i get more %.
