I've been to that statue both with and without favor. Kormir's avator only rises when you kneel with favor.

At least at the moment, you need to have favour to be able to summon the Seer of Truth at Kormir's statue.

I wonder if the sunspear title will get fixed, since if you had the same problem as I did, err=??? for some weird reason GW crashed out (first time for everything, i guess). If it doesnt get fixed, I'll give up hoping I can get it maxed out, since I've got 2 characters stuck at r7... both just crashed out around 12k points each x.x Gaile calls it bad luck... lol but I hope this new area will offer the r7 sunspears a way to max out their title since im working hard for the 'people know me' xD

I noticed on the Vortex Parchment map there were two circle's that don't have any zone's in them. I bet this is one of them

i'd also love to change the inscriptions on my older armors, since imo 15k hydromancer is the prettiest ele armor (just bought it last week, dyed PINK!!! ) but i cant change the inscriptions on it

anyway, i love that i already completed the game with 4 characters and im r7 lightbringer with 2 of them

I didn't say it was going to be like an SF-sized update, I meant it was going to be like SF because there is going to be new explorable areas included.

Here's how I see access to the new area going down:

Player's enter Chantry of Secret's on the 1st and speak with the Gurardian of Whispers to gain access to the statue. Player's kneel before the Goddess avatar and receive dialouge that can transport them to the Domain of Anguish. Once Inside the area will be treated as a Mission location much similar to those of The Deep and Urgoz's Warren. Player's will be able to select party member's or hero's and then go off and attempt the mission.

Now, here's some point's that are debatable.

1. Do you think the Guardian of Whispers or the avatar will require players to have a certain level of Lightbringer along with campeign completion (of course) to enter?

Personally I feel that if anet made such a requirement it would be quite low. Most likely 2 or 3. I guess my real question is has anybody been rejected from entering the other side of the gate? I don't know anyone who completed the game at 0 or 1 lightbringer.

2. Do you think that favor will be a another requirement to enter the mission?

I honestly believe so. As of right now the avatar cannot be called upon in chantry unless your area has favor. Also, if favor was not a requirement why bother putting the statue at Chantry if you could have just put it at some other area in the Realm of Torment? Or even just spoke to some random npc at the Gate of Torment that would teleport you to the area? This question leads me to.....

3. Will the statue of Kormir at the Throne of Secrets also lead you to the Elite Mission?

If memory serves correct I don't believe you need favor in order for the avatar to appear here. So perhaps players may have the option of entering the elite mission without needing favor. Could be interesting...

4. Will the Domain of Anguish have an icon for which to map travel to and from after a character initially reaches it?

I'm pretty doubtful on this one. I believe going through an avatar will be required any time you want to reach the elite mission. I do believe however that once your in the Domain of Anguish and open up the world map a map of the Realm of Torment will appear and your character's location will be in the empty circle underneath and inbetween Abbadon's Gate and Gates of Torment.

5.Will players who have not beaten the game be able to ferry into the elite mission by players who have?

I'm doubtful on this one too. I think if you have anyone in your party who has not completed the game and you attempt the screen will say "Your party has members who cannot travel there. Do you wish to leave them behind?" or something to that extent.

I did, at 1 lightbringer. You can get to the other side just fine.

I'm almost 100% positively sure you end up at the south of the map because there's one huge gate floating there that ain't used at the moment ( just take a look at the map I have made ).

And on closer inspection while making a new map for it I already counted 4 exits on this gate (you can see 3 from gate of secrets and another one from gate of madness).

But I really hope they ditch the favor system for this one... I hate the idea of relying on other people's PvP performance to play PvE...

It would be nice to hopefully change some of the hero armor skins or perhaps even our own. Guess we'll have to wait and see exactly what happens and GOD FORBID they require favor. That would be just anti-climatic and get a lot of people really upset.

After 5 Pages of "discussion" no one even asked if Heros will be allowed in the Elite mission?

If Kormir at the Chantry of Secrets is used for access for the Elite mission which is logical since you can only access there once you completed the game, if my memory serves me correct, you can only /kneel and summon komir if your region has Favor.

Will the Elite mission area be then limited by Favor?

To those with comments like: "lets wait and find out": Sorry i am not interested in making more hate posts against Anet in a flame thread that spawns over 50+ pages to say that limiting the Elite mission access by favor is a Bad idea apart from the requirement of having to to complete the game.

Well guy's consider what I said earlier in the third question I asked. What if the statue of kormir at the Throne of Secrets let's you into the elite mission?

This way you can still access the elite mission with only PvE requirements but if your country has favor you get to access the elite mission much easier as an incentive.

I think that's fair. It's not as if Abaddon take's a lot of time to finish off.

[Edit]: Yes sindex, Razah has been confirmed to be part of the update along with the elite mission.

So then if that’s the ticket then what will be the extra tid-bit about Gaile stating something really cool will be added during the Wintersday update; or in fact this is it. Don't get me wrong but it's cool that everything is coming together, but at least more info before we head into speculation space would be nice (not meaning you of course).

Grammar is ftw. Anyways it's obvious that it will be permanent and the reason it is just now being introduced is because they weren't able to finish it on time for the release of Nightfall.

But it think they got it backwards cause the login announcement says

(novel armor upgrade options, and a brand new system for weapon acqusition)

So I think there might be some minor appearance upgrades for the amors (I doubt it would be anything concerning stats labeled as "novel") and maybe some kind of special collector for weapons.

Gaile has recently mentioned Razah will be acquired after the Elite Mission update. You can check the logs on that. She's not going to say how due to a.) She want's it to be a surprise and b.) She probably doesn't know exactly how anyway.

It already been said that the Elite mission access will be from Chantry of Secrets not Throne of Secrets.(ie the area you access after defeating abaddon and get a green item and endgame armour)

Sorry Tarus, i will fight your arguement to the death(or banning) for favor to be used to Access the Elite mission area.

How is it fair in your perspective that a PvE Area is limited by the PvP aspect of the game. Though killing Abaddon may take only around 15-17 mins on average, it takes some time for a character to reach the end mission itself.

Edit: unless you mean:
No favor-access Elite mssion by defeating abaddon
With favor-access Elite mission normally by Chantry of secrets

which i think is still not a good idea/alternative.

It would be nice to see that the only limitation on getting into the elite area would be just finishing the game. It would be a nice change from the other disliked favor systems.

I thought I would check on that but we have favor so I couldn’t see if Kormir popped up if we didn’t. I could have swore when I finished with one of my characters and kneeled when we didn’t have favor and she popped up, but then I could have been mistaken.

But having to finish the game plus having favor…that’s just plain mean.

Hahaha...Razah's proffession is "variable", right? What Anet probably means is that you pick his/her proffession and that's his/her proffession for the rest of the game...

I think you are misunderstanding me. Re-read my first post on this. What i'm implying is what if the Elite Mission can be accessed from two different areas? Chantry of Secrets if we have favor and Throne of Secrets regardless of favor. The benefit of going through Chantry is it's really simple vs. having to go through abaddon. What I think is fair is that having favor gives you that benefit but your not limited to needing favor to enter.

Zehnchu you are half way right. When you kneeled to see the avatar you were most likely at the Throne of Secrets, not Chantry. That is why she popped up.

Im thinking the same thing. it says armor upgrades and as far as I can read into that I assume it will be like the other elite missions where you get stuff and trade it in for cool-skinned hero armor.

Firstly you get hero armors from Challenge Missions not elite missions.

First thing to come to my mind is upgrading your Canthan/Tyrian armor to allow insignias.

You guys keep saying it's an elite mission but it's an elite *AREA* with four AREAS to explore.. I don't think this is like ToW or FoW.. it's more like a combo between The deep (for access) and SF (for gameplay)
