On the subject of bringing chars over, as I said ages back you can think of 100 kooky reasons for being alive 100's of years later. As for time travel backwards, then the game currently allows us to do that now.
We can travel back in time and re-live the events of starter missions for example, so there is no reason why this could not be so.
There however a number of technical reasons why this may not be possible. It's been clear for a while that the GW database is limited in what can be changed. E.g there is no Character recovery feature, rollbacks can only be done on a global basis and i'm sure if changing apperance was a simple matter then we would have it by now.
GW2's database would be very very different to GW 1's and at a schema level it might not even be possible to map each field with another.
Besides GW2, is at least 2-3 years away so no need to go worrying about it now. Just enjoy the now, and GW 2 will take care of itself.

I have 11 pves, each seperately born from Tyria, Cantha and Elona. After playing them repeatedly it does get boring oh wait it already is. I speak the truth cause a lot of players have said the same thing. No maybe you are just brown nosing to Anet in hopes they would send you a sneak peak, but let's face it if you aren't into an overwhelm of repetition it's because it's boring.
Anet needs to not only come up with a new expanion or some new campaign quick, but atleast an armor storage because if they expect players to experience new armor and weapons then for Dwayna's sakes (now that was nerdy of me. lol) expand the storage and/or make a special inventory for armor cause rich players like me have about 5 to 6 sets of ascended armor on all my pves.
If this GW 2 isn't even going to be apart of the first one where most of us worked very hard developing and would mean of basically starting all over then I won't even buy it. I may be a a Guild Wars lover, but I also have a life.

It's not going to be released in a long time, I'd say at least five years, so calm down and chill out. You'll be happy to have a brand-new sequal by then.

How much do you guys/gals want to bet after the whole PC Gamer releases their information; the other web sites like Gamespot, IGN, and end etc. will give out their information? Way before the other magazines finally release their information. However I can see a negative reaction from Gamespot. The reason for this is because if development companies are not be forth coming with them, they are likely give a poor review of the game.

I don't think there'll be mounts, since there's fast travel. And I doubt we'll see races in GW1.

mounts are unnecessary in GW cuz of fast travel as bryant said. But i still think it'd be cool to have them. A beastmaster class perhaps that can charm an animal and ride them to provide a slight boost in attacks? Hell, even if its just a small visual change for GW2; just another money sink. No benefits or speed boosts whatsoever and ride just to appear cool :P

2) We have MAP TRAVEL
As far as races and henchman becoming heros...Feh, whatever floats your boat right?

@lucifer uk - USA only has one postal delivery each day. Time varies depending where your residence is on the postal route. My neighborhood gets the mail between 3-6pm.

mounts in most rpg's are used for traveling and most of them dont have portals that take you into a town where you carnt attack. most others are just continous go through. guild wars doesnt really need mounts unless your able to fight on one

Mounts are also used for fighting. I remember in EverQuest the added bonus of a mount for a caster was that you could cast spells and have the added regen bonus of sitting down on a horse. However, as mana regen in Guild Wars is the same regardless of whether you're standing or using the emote /sit I doubt that mounts would be anything but cosmetic.

The current Guild Wars model does NOT need mounts. Maybe in GW2 when or IF the game gets fleshed out more than what it is now.

I wouldn't mind having a horse that only runs as fast as a person, even if I didn't need one, I would still like to have it, and what would it hurt? Really, what would it hurt? Same thing with the char creation, would it hurt for people to choose what body style they wanted, the warrior body on a ele would be nice for some people.
What I'm saying is the more they give us, the better the game, even if you swear you don't want a mount, I bet you 100k you'll be one of the first running around on your horse saying omg this kicks.
Just admit it now and be done with it. Who cares if there's mounts or not, it wont hurt the game, it'll just be a cool feature.
