"Fresh Guild Wars announced" From the Inquirer!

I think by multilevel dungeons, they mean stuff like Tombs, where you have to complete entire maps to procede

But back on topic. Trying to think what I was thinking of while reading through the last few pages since my last post. Oh yeah! Has it occured to anyone else that GW2 will be a separate game simply because it is supposedly so far into the future? Then again, if they added a time vortex instead of a boat to travel between the games this time, it could just be another trilogy or whatever. But yeah, just a random thought.
There was a whole lot of other stuff, but I'm too lazy and tired after work to be bothered to go back and look at what I was going to discuss. Ahh well.

I always hated Firefly. It just seemed like they took the whole space cowboy thing way to literally. Farscape was waaaay better than both Firefly and Stargate.

The magic time-traveling portal is a possibility. It might depend on whether or not the existing content would be compatible with the new game engine.

GW2 i think will just be the next version of the game engine, didnt Jeff Strain say they could keep adding improving the same engine, and it would still have good gfx etc, after 10 chapters or something

whoa whoa ok sorry just a thought
but remember "guild wars elona nightfall" is some words from the game youve taken to just make gwen whereas "guild wars eye of the north" is the actual game name (if all these rumers are true lol) but anyway yea it doesent really matter anyway if it was meant it probably wont have anything to do with the game. it will be one of those little extras Anet put in for there fans.

Now as GDC is over and no other gaming site wrote anything about GWEN or GW2 the news was definitely supposed to be secret (I've never understood the point of revealing stuff to the press without passing it onto the public though) or bollocks (which it isn't, since Gaile confirmed the news is at least partially correct).
Bleh, silly industry, why don't they just write a bunch of new info on the official GW site instead of doing these bizarre stealth operations with other companies?

I'm guessing the "Eyes of the North" is correct, the "need a previous campaign to play" is incorrect, and the "Guild Wars 2" is misleading.
According to Gaile's comment in the original post, anyway.

New races doesnt mean race specific skills, it may just be a looks thing.
PvP not missed in GW2, well if you don't remember GW started out as a PvP game and then was made to contain PvE, I highly doubt they will remove the PvP aspect from the game.
As for an expansion, I don't really care. I like to PvP mostly and a new set of skills is nice, 50 of them PvE kind of shocked me and I feel is kind of stupid. Any new skills I will probably buy it, and I do PvE a bit. Other than that it doesn't seem very special but since it is an expansion and it is taking longer than a stand alone game it must have something great in it.
For GW and how close it will get to WoW, I don't care, as long as I have fun playing it. WoW is WoW and GW is GW when will people stop comparing them and look to what they like in GW. If we get mounts half the community will be happy and half won't. What happens happens.

Evil Avatar News: Guild Wars seems to be a pretty hardcore PvP type game. How does Factions supplement the core game in terms of additional appeal? Has there been an effort made to entice people who didn't like Guild Wars? Have there been any creative strides toward doing unique PvE situations? JS: Well, I think Guild Wars has excellent PvP, especially in the online role-playing genre, in fact its the only game with well-designed well-balanced PvP; but that doesnt mean the game is a hardcore PvPer's game. Guild Wars started life as a role-playing game, and we continue to support that very strongly. Our goal was always for the PvP aspect to be played after youve built up your character and played through the role-playing content |

please be a Guild Wars 2! that way i can restart since my account got banned lol

Honestly if it is what I think it is, and I am going with assumption people. It probably will not be the last chapter to the original GW, I mean look at the original Everquest that thing continues to bring out expansions. I really think that A-net might have taken us seriously about the whole smaller expansions, which we would pay for less. I don’t think that they made the adequate sales number they thought they would, with the other 3 campaigns.
If anything this expansion reminds me of Fable: The Lost Chapters to the original Fable. Just to make sure everything is wrapped up. However I could be wrong, because assuming what it might be, probably will get us nowhere.

hahaha thats a fake....*murmur....Okay so we could possibly see some interestin and unprecedented changes but hell i knew there was a sequel from DEVONA's story in the first game. They dont make something like that not to finish it.
I know some of it may seem a bit off or farfetch'd some might think...and as much as i dont want to say it or even believe it...Is this what the gamers really want? Or is this something that will cause massive concerns for the future of GW's.
Myself personally would like to see a 4th game. But would rather stick with humans than creatures..Can anyone truely picture seeing tengu or Charr or even this Asurian race bouncing around shing jea? No way. The game's mechanics would be one jumbled, digital mess.
But as they have said its just rumors and speculation. So i guess we will just have to wait and see what becomes of it.
Till then happy hunting.

I just learned that the Minipet is really the god Dhuum and will be the boss used for the next 20 GW chapters as well as GW2-9. Also the title Eye of The North refers to the left eye of the creature where the entire 4th through 9th chapter will take place via shrink ray.

My point: Screw whatever the playerbase thinks GW was "supposed" to be and instead care about what it is now and will be in the future.
As for the speculation on the next chapter...here are my opinions:
C4 = Guild Wars: Eye of the North - Probably true
150 new skills - might be, might not be.
50 of those PvE-only - I doubt there would be that many, but I can see more PvE-only skills than NF gave us.
Requires another game to play - Doubt it
Guild Wars 2 - Doubt it
New playable races - doubt it.
New races - likely.
EDIT: "Quote" button messed up, caused a quote tag and another quote tag. Fixed it.

the pre-sear Bunny is the brains behind the eye of the north the 5th chapter will be called eye of the east refering to the bunnys right eye this chapter will follow the story behind factions and how the city falls to the wrath of the white mantle. leaving this game set in the maguma jungle.

Well subscribers should start receiving the magazine on the 15th.
cthulhu reborn
Coinciding with the magazine there is a big game fair in Hannover Germany that starts on the 15th aswell...perhaps another source for news on the next chapter...
Neriandal Freit
We can presume that anywhere from today to Thursday (the fifteenth), we will start seeing issues be in the hands of subscribers.

Hmm after reading ANets web site I highly doubt chp4 will be an expansion that requires one of the previous chapters to play, like the article says.
To quote from ANets site:
They then go on to say:
The use of campaign to describe chp4 would imply that it too will be a self-standing game.
(source: http://www.arena.net/games/default.php)
To quote from ANets site:
Quote:
ArenaNet has developed two additional self-standing games, called "campaigns". |
Quote:
ArenaNet is currently working on a fourth campaign that will once again expand the explorable world of Guild Wars and provide ever-deepening insight into the history of that world and the stories of its people. It is scheduled for release in 2007. |

personal knowledge as an inlaw is ex postoffice
someone could be reading it tomorrow or maybe a week after the 15th it hasnt shown up yet.
they are sent periodical rate not first class and were in the system a week ago.
the goal (seldom met) is to have at least 50% delivered on the stated day (15th) but obviously there is a big plus/minus on that
