In the article something about EVENTS is mentioned...It is simply a combination of quests, missions, and social events...read into it.

Thank You! Thank You!! Thank You!!!
People, stop giving half-baked opinions on something that isn't even IN BETA YET!!!! I don't subscribe to PC Gamer, but you can sure bet that I'll be at Wal-Mart at midnight when they put out the magazine so I can get ten copies of it and each one of my characters will have a new mini-pet, even tho I know that I CAN'T take it with me. Why? 'Cause I like the game. Just like I like Warcraft I, II, and even III. I go back and play them time and time again. Same with Diablo I AND II. It's always fun to go back and play them, just like I'll enjoy going back and playing my old characters again and again(yes, all ten of them) Personally, I can't wait until it goes gold, because this time, I'll be the first in line to get one. And having a relative that works at a game store isn't going to hurt, either.
Disappointed that I can't use my characters in Guild Wars II? Nope. Not at all. Fresh start, fresh game, continuation of a storyline, and the connector being that my character can be related to an unlucky drunkard! It's "a couple of hundred years in the future", not next week, people. Get over it. It continues a storyline. No one lives forever. Having your character "jump thru a hole in the space/time continuum" is just a
little to much like sci-fi, NOT fantasy-fi(is that a word?), and that's what you would have to do. I'm sorry, this means that you'll actually have to Play the game a little longer before you can stand around in the outpost/city/village and proclaim, "I ROXXOR, U DON'T U NOOB, STFU, IM SO 1337. Wanna buy my axe for 1000p?"
Higher Level caps(100+)- I think this could be a bad idea. I introduces the whole "lvl Grind" thing, which I'm already doing(notice I said DOING, not HAVING TO DO) in order to try and get sunspear promotion points. Why am I doing it? I don't have a clue, it's just fun. And it'll be fun in Guild Wars II as well; I just don't want to be stuck try to complete a quest/mission and not knowing where to go or how to complete it, only to be told, "OMGZZOR, ur only level30?? Gawd, noobr, go grind smwher els tl u get high lvl liek me."(Can you say, "GLF 90+warrior to tank for us") And, yes, I've been told that, AND kicked from a group simply because I wasn't a "high enough level" for them, even tho my 14th level Paragon/Elementalist was taking out groups of four 15th level monsters with nothing but 12 level Koss to back her up.
Before anyone starts to flame me for not "investing" a lot of time and money, let me say that I bought Prophecies about 3 months after it hit the shelves($35US), finished the campaign with the help of some guildmates, unlocked ALMOST all of the skills and what-not for my warrior/monk, then promptly bought the Collectors Edition when I saw it on the shelf($60US). I got deployed to Afghanistan for a year and when I came back, I saw a three pack in the local PX that had the GOTY edition of Prophecies with Factions and Nightfall. Bought them($95). Then learned that there was a Collectors edition of Nightfall. Bought it($70US). Then went and bought 3 more character slots for a total of ten($30). Now, there's and expansion pack for Nightfall(unknown amount) So, in the two years that I've been playing, I've spent over $300US on this game. To me, WORTH EVERY PENNY!! And if Gaile or anyone from ArenaNet DOES read this post, I WILL be buying Guild Wars II and any chapters that come out.
