330hp Rt/Mo Vengeful Spirit Bonder -Quick HM Farming!
ProjectZephyr
I have all the chapters. :P And so what kind of drops am I looking for? Golds? Certain collectables or mats? I'm sorta new to this whole farming thing, so I'm just trying to get an idea of what I'm looking for.
And do deaths affect drops? I think I remember someone saying that at some point.
EDIT: With the death thing, I'm referring to the dying and ressing at the shrine right next to the Luxon sin area. Will that affect my drops? Because I've been doing that and my drops are kinda... crappy. Especially compared to when I ran to them without dying.

Anywhere worth farming Kurzick points at? I would love to use this build for that purpose. BTW: Frikkin awesome build. Much 'spect for the work you put into this.

Your build is very good , but i can keep my health up ,always im die so easy ,i have all lower armor with all runs , staff wand etc. From all skills from that build ,spirit bond is very important how, when and what moment to cast and i failed .i hope you will help me mayby .sorry for My english i do my best (must buy 1 book english language

This will sound a bit stupid, but why the low Armor? I'm guessing it's to make sure Prot Spirit does it's job, but HM foes (and most farmable foes) hit hard enough, especially with 330 or lower health.
A clarification?

Just so Prot Spirit and Spirit Bond does it's job
There may or may not be some foes that don't hit hard enough for Spirit Bond to trigger while wearing Max Armor
Vexed
The low armor insures that you take the most possible damage per hit to trigger Spirit Bond.
The damage is calculated before Prot Spirit's reduction.

Sounds to me you haven't noticed the Spirit Bond Bug/Glitche. If you renew Spirit Bond while it is still active, the 10 hits counter won't reset most of the time. So, don't renew Spirit Bond until it has worn off... and jus cast soon as you see that your health start to go down. Also, for farming mods with casters, you might want to use Spirit Bond even with VwK if you are still taking damage from spells of some kind.

I use a combo of Seitung and Canthan, regular max armor. Am not going to bother getting 15k for any char except my ranger, who is my pride and joy
The fact that I'm broke most of the time has also come to mind

The fact that I'm broke most of the time has also come to mind Oh, well if you use max armor, SB might not trigger from wand damage and such.

Yeah, I figured that out And I did a test. Got killed in less than ten seconds.
Bought 15AL armor, and this build ROCKS. Thanks for sharing it. Maybe now I'll have a less boring way than trapping/touching way of farming.

Hi this build is really great! I’ve been farming with it for not long but I had experience in other 55/105 and i fast used to spirit bond. I have only one problem. In Fahranur, The First City in front of city itself there is big group of scales (all are D or W), it is possible to lure them in smaller groups but I’m dying. Why I have PS on me i have SB on me (recasting when it ends)? Is it possible that deep wound kills me?

Try fighting them in smaller groups. Use a Longbow/Flatbow and pull one group out, they're actually just three or so groups packed into on area. As soon as you pull them out, switch back to your normal weapon set.

Can this build do Griffon's Mouth?
And a related question, although I might have missed the answer earlier. How do you deal with knockdowns when using this? Just ignore it?

Nothing you can do about knockdowns, but still possible to get off spells in between them... aslong as they are not constant knockdowns. But if you have Gwen there is a skill the will counter knock downs for abou 14-20 seconds depending on your title rank. It has a longer recharged than its duration, but should be enough time to kill a group of enemies off... it should also help against Vermins.

My Rt is only about a week or so old, hasn't gotten to EotN yet, tho I have boreal station unlocked. Ah well.

I think that i wasnt clear. When i said that it is possible to lure them in smaller groups i meant that i was luring theam into smaller groups. But all in all next day when i tried it again i killed theam without problem, it seams that i had been doing something wrong.
Fahranur, The First City is deffinityl one of the best farming spots. Run take about 20min with about 60 foes on way and 2 bosses.

I just love this build.. so much fun.
And today I went to the Secret Lair of the Snowmen to give it
a go solo.. but for some reason Spirit Bond nor VWK did trigger.. so the
snowmen pretty much smashed like a fly on the windscreen..
Can anyone explain to me why? I just don't get it.

Can anyone explain to me why? I just don't get it. It's probably because they come in huge groups and they all use the skill Snowball, which deals only 50 Damage regardless of whether it is in Hard Mode or not, just under the 60 Damage requirement for Spirit Bond. Along with that, there's Hidden Rock, which dazes you, so your VwK might have got interrupted.

Ah, I see.. but the thing is I had VWK up before I got hit but still it didn't heal me..
No big deal really, as I enjoy the run just as much with heroes but I just
want to understand what and why things turn ugly.

I just realized that this build works fine for farming Beetles and Behemoths in Mirror of Lyss.
TheDolph
I would guess VwK didnt work as SNowball is a spell, and those dont trigger VwK
Skinny Corpse
aah, of course.. that explains a lot.. thanks, Dolph!
Turtle222
can i use Alem's remedy staff with this build? id have 360 hp but seems great for this build
Skinny Corpse
I'd say you can, as VwK heals you for 37hp and with Prot. Spirit up you'll lose 36hp.. I'd say it'll work.
Only one way to find out for sure tho; try it.

Turtle222
well it works thats for sure. just wondering with regards to health degen and you only got 1 guy remaining- a spell caster lol.
Skinny Corpse
That sucks, doesn't it?
I usually shut down Balthazar's Spirit and Essence Bond to
get some energy regen and then spam Vengeful Weapon and Reversal of Damage. Kinda slow but it works for me.

Alem's will work fine. You don't get staff or weapon benefits when you hold an item... so your health will go down to 330 when you cast VwK. You will also get an extra 1-2 points of damage out of Retribution while VwK is not in use...
oh_oh_joe
I was just wondering whats everyone's favorite farming spot with this build? I've only really farmed Luxon Sins/First City and the Nub Islands a few times. Just wondering where everyone else is farming, as these areas are getting kind of dry.
malko050987
I usually do a Naga run (South of Pongmei Village, the cave), then move the the Jade Brotherhood Knights outside the Marketplace, then overin Tyria outside Sardelac at the Elementals, and if I still feel like it, Fahranur.
Rexsis Kai
I see with this build you have to use several weapons, is this really needed? Also is there a weapon I could use so that as I farmed and got the gold for better weapons I could buy them. Like a +5en +20% Ench. Dur. weapon? Ive seen many many videos using this build to farm, and wow its amazing!
malko050987
Several weapons? No... you don't. The weps are irrelevent most of the time, as long as it's a caster one, since you're holding VwK most of the time.
A staff such as the hourglass Staff works great. Basically, any Insightful Staff of Enchanting is good. It will give you +15 energy and +20% longer PS/SB if you cast them before VwK.
One of the Bonus packs from GW includes an Insightful Soul Shrieker. It's a Necro staff, but it comes with a +5 energy mod, and you can mod it (or at least, it works for me). I added an enchant mod to it and works great. I used a Mindclouder (+20 energy) for a while, but had issues with the +30 health, so I dropped it.
And if you're really broke, simply ask for any staff from a guildie/friend. Even non-max ones have +10 energy, and it will be enough for for a few runs, until you have enough cash to get a better one.

I used to use Alem's Remedy when I first started, but now I use the Restoration Effigy from the end of Factions + Collossal Scimitar(which I farmed using this build ) which has 10% Skill recharge and Enchanting.

hey, is 5 armor too low?

Better, actually, as you will take more damage, for easier trigger of Spirit Bond.
(Although may want to use headgear of restoration for that extra restoration point instead of starter headgear.)

Maybe only a difference in NM... as you would take more damage to trigger SB. If I had 5AL, I would still get 15AL since it looks better, mainly because it won't matter in HM. But it would be better before HM arrived. |
