also i think a notice board styled thing where you can advertise your guild and new notices would be nice like they have in puzzle pirates (I don't play it anymore)

Realy???

OMG I didnt know that WoW(know) and runescape(dont know) had that...

Everything that would be a WoW clone I wont support... (Hate WoW ) but I still think that it would be more suted for the GW universe than the toonland of WoW.

Thenx for supporting my Ideas

Hi

The passage of time was discussed as a desired feature for GW2 however, it all seemed to be in terms of time of day. Why not look into the changing of seasons and ebale GW2 tree's to shed their leaves, farms growing seasonable vegetables (like being able to see Halloweens pumpkins growing and later used)?

Cant wait for GW2!

Thanks

I've been thinking about this for a while but i wanted to see what everyone else might think now for some of us that made chars way back and or even recenty and dont like how they look or wanna change what they look like i was thinking id be really awesome if we could have some type of an option to change our characters looks but not like anything crazy just like skin color or change to a different type of hair face etc.. and thats pretty much it id like to actually try and make this happen but i went to the actual guildwars site and they didnt have any email for me to send them on my idea

and im curious what do you guys think of this idea?

I haven't read through this thread, but I have one simple suggestion. Have no effective gold limit. I understand that there has to be a limit somewhere, so make it high enough that it won't be reached. A single 32-bit integer would be a good choice to store the amount of gold a player has.

My reasons are as follows:

- If there are any gains to having a gold limit, those gains are lost the instant players agree on a secondary currency to bypass the limit. For GW1 we use ecto. I don't see any way to prevent people agreeing on a secondary currency within a few months of release, if not sooner.

- By not having a limit you open it up for people to try and scam people by trading the gold in multiple transactions. Some people will fall for this scam, especially if the secondary currency hasn't been decided yet.

- The gold limit will introduce hassle with players having to convert between gold and the secondary currency item for various trades. Sure there is a minor gold-sink here, but it can be compensated for by other gold-sinks.

- If the gold value of the secondary currency drops, the rich people will whine.

- It will make the in-game trading systems more complex to create, because they need to take two separate values and an exchange rate into account. And lets face it, I doubt ANET can get away with not having a trading system ready on GW2 release.

- If one is implemented GW2 could get to the situation where GW1 is now where the value of some items is held up partially because they are used to store wealth. Remove the gold limit, people cash out, their value plummets and lots of people whine. So I doubt it is something that can be changed once people start using the secondary currency, even if there is a need to change it.

27 pages, tl;dr if this has been suggested already.

Fishing. Not like WoW though, more like FFXI where you actually need to move your rod to weaken the fish before you can reel it in. FFXI, WoW, Zelda, always spent tonnes of time just fishing in them.

I know mounts has already been suggested, I have to agree. I love running around on a Wurm or a Siege Devourer in GW, be fun if things like Moas, Doylaks and the such got added (maybe even a Black Moa mount only for people with a dedicated Black Moa Chick)

A 24hr day/night cycle would be good too. An in-game Calender (Mouvelion of course) would be a handy feature too, especially if it had important dates noted in it, and/or you could make notes in it (notes would prolly be stored client-side).

air combos for assassins

3 hit combo -> launch enemy into air -> jump in the air to follow -> 5 hit air combo -> finishing move to knock enemy into ground

of course there will be multiple attacks/launchers/finishers which vary in damage and additional effects, etc

Here are some ideas i think are needed.

1) Mounts: Everybody can choose from different mounts, maybe even like 50 different kinds to make people look different. Mounts can only be used outside, and make you run faster, they will cost heaps and there is no lvl required to use (unlike wow)

2) Armour: Armour should drop of monsters and then taken to an armourer to resize the armour for you. More Armour kinds, and sets!! to many people look the same!

3) Guild: More options for guilds such as, calander, more member space, a reason for a guild hall rather than just a place to chill and GvG.

New Things for guild halls are, minigames, arenas, combat dumbies, a place like hall of monuments to show guild achievements. No guild instancing!! Maybe even make a huge group of islands in the seas which houses the halls, Maybe have a maximum of about 1000 guild halls all together, and guilds have to buy halls off the market.

Different types of halls too so you have to search like an auction house when looking for halls to buy. Bigger halls cost more??

4) War: Char and Slyvari (Vs) Norn, Asura, and Humans? World PvP where you can kill a player where you met them. Not just in the mists!

lol ye Mounts is a great idea

I was thinking of a brand new PvP system,
I dont really like it how it is now but i hope something like CTF would be introduced into GW2. and i think they should get the travel option out I think it makes GuildWars a bit too simple

Nice I like those ideas above... the one with the guild... not so mutch... and the war idea... is ok

Here is my idea on Mounts;

Pets / Pets as Mounts / Pet Armor

Why not have you rase a pet from a small animal/egg to a big powerfull beast???

Instead of just finding and taming it.

It could be a minigame in itself... until your pet grows up. (Think here like feeding, taming, training and taking care of your pet)

Possible pet/mounts could be like a huge reptile creature, huge insectlike creature, huge catlike creature/panther/tiger...etc. and other big beasts to mount beasts...

I dont like the idea of horses and flying mounts... Maybe only flying pets that cant be mounted...and maybe a horseLIKE creature... but no horses XD

You could alsow craft/buy defferent armor for your pet...

CHECK PAGE 26 FOR ALL MY IDEAS!!! PLZ Let me know what you all think!!!

Found this posted on guildcafe, and had to add it here.

Developers should be saying, "how can I make grouping so interesting or compelling that players will want to group EVEN THOUGH they can use heroes." They should be forever expanding game mechanics, not limiting them.
This should be an important factor to add into the book "How to create a successive mmo/rpg"

I would like to see (hear) emotes with voices/sounds. Of course with options to turn them off, in case you come along noob who's abusing emotes. It would add perfect atmosphere, if implemented with quality sound engine. If you'd hear quietly someone talk or whatever doing and everyone else all over the place... I don't mean something like WoW, it's lame there. You either hear someone or not. When I first came to Kaineng City, I thought "wow, thats cool. Voice everywhere", but then it's quite boring, same sound pattern played again and again. If those sounds would make real characters and npc's, it'd be more dynamical.

But whaat i would like to have would be a deeper game experience... i would like the game to be more interactive, it would be nice for instance if you clicked on a chair in your guild hall or local charr pub that you actually sit on the chair rather than sitting through the chair on the floor. It would be nice if they built a more diversifying system for character maing so no character would truly be the same, with sliders for skin colour for instance, and a "SIMS" like character maker.

as i said i would certainly like more depth i the game, and a more responsive atmosphere, so when they make a jump key and you jump over a fence you trip and lose 100hp or something and then the fence breaks, so a few workers from the village come and fix it, which means the pub doesnt get as much bussiness because the people are camping out fora few nights away from the pub, so the barkeeper starves... and chain reactions like that, that make you feel sorry that you have had a phycotic fit and made bloodstains on the wall, because a monster cast a hex on you.

Also as posted by 03tellis it would be nice if they developed a way in which over time you could advance your character into a very specific style of play, not in this way divedrsifying it but intensifying it, also they should make it possible to over time change your primary proffession meaning that you dont have to start again every time you want to try out a new class....

Make GW2 skill > time, as GW 1 was supposed to be.
