Šiljo,
It would be of no use to repost that map.
Sab's post dates back to 2006 and since then the map had a significant change, to be more precise the EotN expansion.
This is a map in the same resolution which has the EotN map update (it's the one from #2).
Just one small warning.
The current 1280x1024 map shows about the same detail as the old 1024x768 one. I never liked to compare that one because it lacked detail, but it's possible.
I can post a higher resolution widescreen version if enough people still care about it.
Max hight will be 1200, the width does not matter since on widescreens this will be black anyway.

The way I do compares now is not with Sab's compare but something like it.
I load a 100% map and my own map in my photo editor (gimp) as two layers and make a third layer that's transparant on top of those.
When I've done that I switch the 100% layer on and off while zoomed at 200%.
Differences are quite easy to spot that way and I use the transparant layer to mark those spots.

I know, I feel guilty about this, but I used texmod for the last ~2% and I'm seeing a spot on the far western section of the Borlis Pass mission, but I can't seem to access it. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

To explore take a minion master with fiends (hero), make some minions and put the MM on the bridge where you meet Rurik first.
Move away and sac the MM to death.
The fiends will kill Rurik's guards (and possible Rurik, but that's ok) and you can use a skill like Necrotic Traversal to get down there.
You are then able to explore the entire path.
If you are in a H&H team you can probably get them down also.
Have them res the MM and keep them flagged on the bridge.
Move away till their names turn grey. Move somewhat further.
Remove the flag. If the bug/feature is still present the heroes will meet you shortly after this.
When you get to the end don't fight the foes. There will come more and more and you are there to explore, not to fight :P

Thanks I've already done that, but that's for the Frost Gate, The thing I need is in Borlis Pass, however, it might just be a glitch with Texmod so I dunno |
Let me think.
Is it a small square spot on north west part of the map?
If so, there was a posting on that one a while ago and I think it cannot be explored.
I'm not a texmod user so can't tell you for sure.

So there is this big island, sw of ember light camp. Anyone how to get there?

I only have 2 pre-update and the colors don't match >_<
here this is what I mean, it's frustrating and makes it pretty much impossible for me to compare
Not just ascalon, everywhere.
and YES I tried the search etc. etc.
*edit* top one is mine bottom one is all the U-maps I've found so far.

As far as I recall I have not seen any post-EotN U-maps.
There was a completely unfogged one, think it was a dev map but it could not be used to compare screenshots.
From my experience it's time consuming to create U-map shots of all Tyria + EotN, but if I don't have a lot to do this evening I might try to make them.
Did that with the old Tyrian maps but the EotN update followed too soon after that to publish them.
One question I'm not sure of.
Are the screens on wiki from before or after the update?
Maybe those could be usefull?

Dude, just use Texmod. It's easier than it sounds.
1. Download Texmod here: http://www.tombraiderhub.com/tr7/mod...oad/texmod.zip
2. Download the map files here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...t=cartographer
Note: All of the files (Texmod and the 3 map files for each continent) should be located next to each other on the desktop for this to work.
3. Open Texmod and click the folder in the upper left-hand corner.
4. Choose GW from wherever you have it located.
5. Click the smaller folder near the center of the window.
6. Browse for the cartography files you just downloaded.
7. When they're all in the white box on the left half of the window, click "Run."
Note: It will probably take a few extra seconds to start the game.
8. When in the game, the places on the map that you haven't explored yet will be clearly visible. This will literally save you HOURS when going for the cartography title.
9. Do this whenever logging into Guild Wars to map areas. You can get rid of it by simply running GW without running Texmod first.
Note: Anet allows this program, but DOES NOT SUPPORT IT, so JUST IN CASE, be prepared to reinstall the game if something goes wrong. Odds are, you won't have to, but better safe than sorry.
Hope that helps.

U-maps for Ascalon, Kryta, Jungle, Ring of Fire and Desert attached.
I did a quick visual compare with GW and besides a glitch on Kryta (north, center) things look fine.
I'm not sure they can be used in an automated difference compare with photoshop/gimp, I used a little jpeg compression so colors might differ too much for that. Visual compare should be no problem.
If you encounter problems please tell me so I can fix the maps.
Publication on other sides is ok but please provide a link to this thread.

It's a map that shows all the routes in Tyria to get 100%, ya' know? with the little red dots like it shows on the map just screenshotted and put all together on one big map? I've been using Texmod and know where to get the % but can't seem to find my way around some places, it shows it's explorable but I can't find my way to it, so if anyone knows where I can get one of these maps I'd much appreciate it if they could post it.

Tadevil,
Did you check the frequently missed spots posting (#2)?
If so, just say in which areas you are missing the spots and on which walls.
For example: The Wilds, blue area on north east side above outpost.
(that one is explored from the bonus area).
Don't bother with very small spots, you can miss them and still get 100%.

Maybe you should try rescraping it at a different angle (hold right-click and walk slowly along the wall such that you're always facing it). Some of the little spots are really hard to get to.
Also, if you didn't get any black patches in texmod in Riverside Province, go back and rescrape - it's probably easier than getting the tiny bits there.

I completed the title for Tyria and those areas are not uncovered in my Texmod screen.
Try somewhere else for your needed %
---------
Revision: the upper portion of the area in the first pic can be uncovered. It is not part of the arena. Let me check and I'll be back in a minute.
Ascalon - scrape area from Arena portal to staircase. Should unfog small area.
P.S. And this should go to the Tyria Cartography forum.

I'm pretty sure that the area around is not explorable, cus I didn't need that part to get 100% either.
Evaine
I've got cartographer on 3 characters now and they have the same image around the Ascalon Arena as your picture. I never have figured out how to uncover that area but they didn't need it to get the title.
The small corner in the picture is uncovered by going to Regent Valley. It's one of those areas that once one of my characters got it, then the others had to get it too, so I saved a picture.
The other area varies from one character to another and as long as it looks similar to yours then I'm ok with it. It all depends on how much wall they can scrape before the timer runs out and how many times you're willing to go repeat that mission.

I have more than half of the ring of fire mission map unexplored and got 100% title.
Keep in mind that texmod isn't always accurate and what you cant reach means it's not needed for title.
As Darcy said try somewhere else.

For carto questions please go to the forums for the campaings and use the sticky threads. Makes it easier to keep track of questions.
The tyrian thread is at here.
I recently included updated U-maps for the continent to them, you can easily see how they compare to your map.
Those U-maps are about as clean as you can get them and the few unexplored spots are noted in posting 2 in the thread.
As for the spots you marked, I would not bother with them too much.
Some of the tyrian spots can be reached only when walking in the right direction while facing the rigth way. And this can be tricky.
No 3 seems to be the one that can be explored when hugging down from Piken all the way to the wall, at a certain point you can get closer to the Great Wall mission.
If you can't get them look for other spots, there is plenty of ground you don't need to cover before getting TGMC.

OP there must be other spots you are missing! I have 4 characters with 100% of tryria and NONE of them have that unfogged....look to other areas like the bonus of dunes mission...the north part of thk mission etc.... there is well over 100% of tyria to get without doing those small spots....(and believe me I know since my first character did it without the 'mod!)

I have mine in a folder on my desktop with the maps in the same folder. I run Texmod, click the top "Target application" button and browse to the GW.exe executable and highlight it and click open.
Next I go down to the second box and click the folder icon and browse to where I saved my maps. I highlight the map I am working on and click open and then click the run button and GW runs with texmod loaded.

hahaha, i found another 0.1% and all this while it is hiding behind The Great Norhtern Walls (the mission).
Okay, you will think its the part where all the Charrs are, well NO!
You have to bring a running skill for this, or you won't have enough time. see attached screenshots for a rough idea which part i am talking about.
Other hiding places regarding this mission and its map. When you start, go across the first bridge, hugs left side to go below the bridge and map the right hand side area where it seem like you cannot go down to. but you can. there will be a boss Grawl there too. and lots of pops up devours, low levels becareful.
and then there's that area where the Charrs were having a meeting. only if you are higher level will it be easier to access that area as you have to fight all those charrs there.
Then there's this, it is only accessible after the Charrs spotted you, when you are running towards Captain Callhan, run towards bridge, after Big Door, hug your right hand side and don't cross the bridge, this will lead you below the bridge.
hahahahahahaha 0.3% more ~
Note: the red lines is a rough one that i drawn on to show where I am talking about since I forgot to take a screenshots.

I counted 19 little spots uncovered on my Textmod in Tyria and I have reached my 100%.
I imagine these 3 spots can not be the only ones that you have left.

Let's say the poster is at 99.8/99.9% and posts those 3 spots.
They look easy to reach and are in an easy area. And the only spots he has left are in Mineral Springs (east wall), the top of Thunderhead Keep and the bonus area in Dunes. I would also rather ask how to explore the marked spots instead of going through a lot of trouble to get the last 0.1% elsewere.
To put it harsh, from an explorers point of view the Texmod maps fail.
They show more then 100% and get the job done, that's a fact. But they don't cover the full map that can be uncovered, leaving a lot less margin when someone is only walking the map with Texmod and does not explore outside areas marked by Texmod.
There is one way to help on this subject, Texmod exploration.
That is marking and documenting every spot that Texmod does not show right, so people can be pointed to those spots. It's much more helpfull than saying: "there are other spots to uncover".
pumpkin pie
I insist on not using texmod
I have lots of fun (although it can be frustrating sometime) to find the last few % on my map, after that, i am going to find the last few % on Cantha and Elona both around 1.5% left. ...
I have 99.7% on Tyria, maybe i should go to mineral spring east walls and see whats over there. I remember i cover that part many times, but you never know.
I have a suggestion that has help me find some of the last % on my maps. While you are doing your new or other characters look out for places that you are not familiar with. That is how I look for mine, and how I discover the Great Northern Walls below the bridge 0.1%. Don't do mapping when you are tired, you will surely miss area behind a wall, under the bridge or places that looks to you like its not reachable, but actually if you turn around or just walk towards it, you will find that it is actually reachable.

pumpkin,
If you don't mind a little 'cheating' you could check posting #2 of this thread.
It has a list of spots that people used to miss in the past, each spot was missed by at least two players before I noted it down.
I agree on your exploration tips, specially the Don't Map When Tired one.

Does missing out all the areanas (Shiverpeaks, Ascalon, Shing Jea, Sunspear) have an effect on the title meaning you can't get 100%?
