Well, the only name that I really truly remember ... and only because I see their name win in HoH periodically, and the name is so funny it just sticks:

"Alcoholic Muppets has won a battle in the hall of heroes ..."

Makes me laugh every time, and I usually forget to fight and end up dying in whatever area I happen to be in.

they made it so you cant pull the charr to the rez shrine, making the only way possible to lvl the charr by doing it manually...

The only famous person on the GW world is Gaile Gray. But she works for ANET so that doesnt really count. But she does actually play GW. And a VERY distant 2nd might be the dude that runs the GW podcast called GuildCast. His name is Shawn and his character is Walmart Special. But they arent famous for their superior gameplay or anything. BEcause of the nature of this game, and how many people are playing it, you really cant stand out for exceptional play or anything. It's not a fighting game or FPS.

I dont know anny famous persons sometimes i wish i whas Famous but that whill never happen ^^.

annyway people cant really be ''famous'' in guildwars if you look at the facts famous people are most of the time rich and are getting payed for his/her work. These PvPers and PvEers that think they are famous arent it because of the simple fact.

They dont get payed for it

Kago and LuLu are about the most famous I know of in GW. They're so famous I know of them even though I'm in another realm...

You also seem to hang about the forums. That seems to make a difference. Fame is relative.

Most of these people are famous on forums. People who read up on sites such as this know about Lulu, Lady Blue, Nef, Power (well, he does hold halls a lot so he might be an exception since so many people read those global messages), and Kago.
The "casual" gamer doesn't really know these people.

The only one I know about.
Gods Antipowers got to lvl 20 before the patch, it'll take you thousands (literally) of hours to get to lvl 20 now.

I'd say Kago is famous, but Power? Famous? Nah.
What about Divine (ISellSigils)? LuLu, yes (and LuLu is a he, ok?)

With the advent of observer mode, the team gameplay and an individual's part in a team will make people more famous. Furthermore, GW has a lot to go in the development of PvP guilds. It's only been 8 months, and I think we'll be seeing the equivalent of, say, those sponsored CS clans like Team 3D that will make people more famous.

And there is "PvP-famous" and "PvE famous." I could name a huge list of PvPers who are famous/well known in PvP circles (like Kuntz for his work on GStats, or Ensign for his affinity for number crunching). And I barely know Kago, but a friend who hangs in Grotto 24/7 does.

Oh, and how could I forget Lara Valor?

I suggest you try and pull the Charr to the Rez Shrine in pre-searing again, it is still possible, if you know what you are doing. I could tell you how it's done, but then what fun would that be.

We know its possible, but as Maxie said would take thousands of hours. But since you seem like you can do it faster than that, I'll give you one week to do it. You can come up with the wager even.

where the hell did you get that info from? LuLu is famous within guildwars everyone who has played since beta will know. she (HE actually. but since you said she...) held the hall with teams for HOURS. more than once. thats why he (oh i'm sorry. its she.. right) she has rank 9 as one of the only people in the game. i don't think LuLu made it to rank 12 yet, but he's definitely one of the closest ones.

I played with him. also in some of these tomb runs. and people would literally drop from their guild just so LuLu's name would show up as the team. and he would play with "Lulu the monk" no matter if he was actually healing or not. or doing some other monking. (it was veery easy to be a healer back then. every team who had the slightest clue would target LuLu instantly. just drop some prot spells on him.)

anyway. the gwguru forum addicts (as you so kindly name them) are well over 250. and they are not the only ones who know about Lulu. trust me on that. i have met so many people talking about him ingame. more than 250. and i don't know how many on this site i have met.. but anyway. theres more than 250 who will instantly recognise the nickname "Lulu The Monk" i would guess closer to 25.000

also not true. Lulu never did PvE. never. he led people in his guild and on the vent server run him. he did it as a kind of record atempt at first. but he continued. the reason he ascended as level 3 was because then he could go unlock 20 skills. start over unlock 20 new skills. all this took like 5 hours per run (20 skills in 5 hours quickly adds up) this was back before the faction was implemented. back before iway. pretty soon after the beta launched

he unlocked the game that way. i doubt he even has PvE characters now

Of that list I never heard of any of them, until I started on this forum. Ask yourselves the same, had you not come to a forum would you have known anyone indirectly? Probably not. Now, extrapolate that to the majority of existing players who do not visit forums typically, they won't know either. In that sense being famous/infamous isn't really possible.

I think people who care about such thinks underestimate how much of a completely forgettable non-event it is to many people, to see that line pass by that tells us who holds the hall of heroes. I can play all night and when I log off I won't be able tell you a single name, even if the same one came by many times in a row. It's background noise, my brain doesn't process this.
