It seems that if you go with another player that hasn't started WiK he is there and he's not there if all of you have finished Prophecies or EotN.

He spawns if you haven't finished Prophecies (and likely EotN as well).
The only characters I have had him spawn for are on an account that doesn't have EotN, and who haven't finished Prophecies.
If you've finished either he probably won't spawn, not having started WiK has no bearing on this.
Edit: I just used my Mesmer (Who hasn't finished Prophecies) to run my other account (That has WiK active) and Nicholas spawned.
The only characters I have had him spawn for are on an account that doesn't have EotN, and who haven't finished Prophecies.
If you've finished either he probably won't spawn, not having started WiK has no bearing on this.

Word is he's there, just doesn't appear if you have the secret river passage. So you must have party lead by someone who has not competed Proph, or EoTN

All my Proph Chars have WiK and all my other Chars Have done/are doing EoTN...so this is kind of lame.

Remember that for characters that have completed Prophecies or EotN, Talmark Wilderness will become the WiK version because of the Dakutu (Shining Blade) camp in the south of the explorable, so even if you haven't done the WiK quest that triggers the secret passage it will still be a different explorable to the standard Talmark Wilderness where Nick was presumably placed.

If anyone needs a character who hasn't completed Proph/EotN to spawn Nicholas, I'll leave my Mesmer Nere Las in ToA international dis 1 you can self invite and use him to spawn Nic. For free, of course.
Edit: I have some spare seeds, so free seeds too, while stocks last
Edit: There are more than a few free Nicolas Taxis in the American districts of ToA, so I'm done with standing around in the Int districts for now

This seems to be a problem that keeps occruiing, mainly due to the WiK areas being created after to the nicholas update. I have a feeling fixing them all could do a reboot of the locations, like the Zquets, then again i have been told they are rebooting the Zquests soon for Pogahn PAssage

Bug aside (which I'm sure will be fixed soonish), where's the best place to farm the seeds? The reed stalkers outside ToA is the only spot I can think of, and getting all I need from one group will take an age.

ok the work around is this: your party leader must not have started wik, everyone else can. So you run to Talmark, leader can port out when you load in, Nick is there

I continue on from the stalkers into Talmark Wilderness and take a circular route that encompaases all the tree guys. 6-8 per run.

Had only one character with no WiK involvement who also had not finished Prophecies or EoTN. This character could see Nick and could turn in the abnormal seeds. None of my other characters could see him at all.

I have to say, the farming is easy but this making Nick pop-up in certain instances is a rather annoying thing. And it's been more than once that it's happened. Sigh. Now to get a non-completed char from Lion's Arch to Talmark...

To return a favor given to me, I ran a taxi to Nick...and ended up doing it 3 times.
The only things I asked were:
1- The player has all seeds as the trip from Temple to Nick is short, and they probably wouldn't have time to pick up any more seeds.
2- They pay NOTHING to me, but return the favor (of helping) to someone else.
The "issues" I had were:
1- Players wouldn't wait and frequently left other players to fight the few foes our group ran into. I had to remind them if I died, Nick may not appear.
2- Players were suspicious and kept asking me how much was the "tip". This took a long time, more than I wanted to spend.
3- Players kept trying to "tip" me. I had to keep telling them that I couldn't "pay off my debt" to the one who had helped me (with another item) if they paid me anything.
4- One player said I took too long in waiting to get our party filled and letting others join us. Considering that this was a FREE service, I found her impatience waiting 10 mins (while I tried reassuring players that there was NO FEE, NONE, NADA.) rather rude. She finally left about 10 seconds before we left. I wonder if she came back wanting someone to take her--and then demanding that no fee should be charged?
In all, though, it was nice to see the relief from players when Nick showed up and they got their gifts.
I do hope they will "repay" the kindness and make this game a little nicer for all.

Before update I've got gifts from Nick with my main char using a tip-taxi.
After update I've used other char (with any WiK quests done) and Nick (in new location) refuse to give me gifts like I've already got gifts with that char ...

Go to Quarrel Falls, go out into Silverwood, turn around and there you'll see him, behind the portal to Quarrel Falls. Unreachable, even with shadowsteps.

This week is awsome the second week in a row that is hard to get to nicholas.
He wil spawn but we don't know what he wants lol. He is at Quarrel Falls you only see him when you exit Quarrel Falls for Silverwood turn around and surprisssse he is there. But don't cheer so soon. You won't reach him.
Is it an early april fools? If it is. Go Anet because I did smile because of the location :-)
