At start, Anet was paying attention for pvpers, and even made big turnaments with biz prices (50k $ cash, yeye). That's why we arg now, we dont have anything now, neither the "taking care of skillz" part, nor the irl bonus (money, irl meetings, etc)

By buying guildwars, we payed for updates, hat's why if we dont have updates, we are angry =) We're not a community in the first place, we are custumers who bought their product. They ow us those skills updates, and it should be made in time, when it's needed, not 4 months later (i'm not even talking about RA syncjoin or GvG fake top 100 games)

You didn't pay for 1/3 of the game, you paid for all of it. If you choose to ignore the other aspects of the game it isn't ArenaNet's problem.

Games with subscriptions arent also required to have updates.

I have to ask why does announcments by anet be alloud to be disscussed? it always turns into something like this,
some people say thanks,
others hate it,
others come to troll,
but it goes NOWEHRE it really doesnt

Did u buy the game in a real store? on the back of mine i can read that the game will be regulary updated. Am i mistaking by thinking the pvp should be updated too, as the pve is ? (if we can call that "pve update" an update...)
The live team are pro-pve players, they dont care at all about pvp, and this is unfair. I know, poor me, but wth, why pve players take the lead on a pvp based game? :O

I dont ignore it, i think it's for casuals, I sometime go there, but only to meet some random noob players that help me to have some zcoins.

Simple answer, GW is on its last life since Anet moved all their focus on aion and gw2. I'm surprised we still get big updates every 4 months honestly.

- Fair point. Now should the company listen to people who are never satisfied with anything you do, or should they go where happy paying customers are? Luckily majority of Guild Wars players never visit these forums and make suggestions that are just as bad as themselves.

One batch of players comes in and whines that the game is all samey and demand changes. ANET gives them changes in skill update. Then another batch of players comes in and whines that something is overpowered and not fun. First group of players are playing happily. Now ANET nerfs stuff and first group of players returns to whine. It's neverending cycle and all this because ANET decided that ambiguous community opinions matter. Just look at the competitive Warcraft III scene these days. Blizzard doesn't change balance unless there's really pressing reasons to do so and yet all four races with different playstyles are represented in ladder of top players. That is what I call balancing done right.

QFT. In PvP there needs to be balance in order for the game to remain fun. In PvE balance hardly makes a difference because you can just discordway/sabway through everything just as easily.

How would you feel after being ignored constantly. It's just frustrating; the perfect suggestions are there ( yes they are perfect because we actually have EXPERIENCE playing the top PvP, you can't judge by just observing ) and yet they just buff more random crap.

Surely there are some nice updates, like the one with the Palm Strike nerf etc. but then later they come with crap like Lingering Curse and PnH. Honestly, how does anyone think that would be a good idea to implement?

Exactly my point. I'd imagine it more like this: You need to do a mission to advance in the game. The mission is packed with groups consisting of 30 lvl 28 mursaat, of which 15 are monks. The other 15 are randomized, so you can't spec, you can't kill, you'll just die.

I actually like the zaishen quests. But that doesn't take away I'd like balance in the game!

Also, no, you can't get to the forums because they're only for top PvP people who know what they're saying. Thought you'd know that.

Totally agree with you but then sometimes its good to let players vent their frustration.
Its probably pointless nearly always ends up silly if it didn't start out that way but it can be entertaining.

One day I really would like a group of players to get a chance to tweak a set of skills according to their view of the game.
It should be a prize offered to the winners of some top pvp winning team.

I really would like to see the comments for their efforts from the player base as well as the anet team.
They would probably be pretty much what we get now a few thanks and loads of moans.

I agree they didn't mind nerfing Spirit Boon to death why not Shadow Form? At least make Shadow Form non permanent by 15 seconds no matter what skills they use to keep it up. Then Shadow Form will be ok. Shadow Form implies sneaking and should only be allowed to sneak by a mob if you're trying to get some place without being noticed, but, if you attack it should come down. That's the way I'd balance it.

You forgot to add "those that come into the thread to complain about the complaining and generally being silly.
Those that would enforce their own agenda's vs anyone else in the entire world because they think they are god, judge and jury of all on the Guru forum.
Those that would say where a thread was going without even knowing where a thread is going like they are some kind of psychic guru.

Correct sir. The reason Guild Wars failed as a competitive game (its main purpose I might add) is because Anet pulls stupid crap like this. Everything else is more important, then when the balance is finally released the game is still a big mess. The only difference is PvP players care about this stuff and PvE players mostly don't.

It said it would be regularly updated and it is. They didnt promise regular skill updates, or regular updates that you will like.

I'm so tempted to break out another poster for this... I realise I risk running the PvP Stereotypes here but is it possible for a PvP player to make a criticism without using the phrase:

"Guildwars is based around PvP"

I'm not a heavy PvPer (as in I sleep once in a while) but lemme see if I can work this out. You want these updates so the game doesnt get stale, however you all want the holy grail of "perfect" balance.

So you want a game that doesnt get stale where nothing ever changes?
