Always good to work outside your comfort zone
Dragon looks good - reminds me of the witch from the Black Cauldron, I think it was?

InfestedHydralisk
The dragon looks really good. I also think such dragons and magical orbs give a really nice touch to the magical middle-ages theme.
Ravenhawk
Thanks you all *group hug*
@Charlie - Not sure if I heard of that dragon but I was looking at so many dragon pictures while doing the initial sketch for this one. I wouldn't be surprised if Black Cauldron was one of them lol
And it's done:

Or maybe it wasn't Black Cauldron... Urgh, I can't remember - all I remember is that it was a Disney film where the witch turns into a giant black and purple dragon that spits green flames. Pretty awesome.
Anyways, the finished piece is lookin' good. You said this was for a comic?

lol just looked Maleficent up, can definitely see the resemblance and she's black and purple too lol. The color scheme of the dragon was based from our guild cape/guild colors in GW.

Yep. (Web) Comic that's actually based off our RP guild in GW but we removed all the GW components and made a completely different world. Wasn't too big of a deal because majority of RPs have became so far off from the GW stories over the years.
That same guild is also the reason why I pushed myself to learn drawing last year because I wanted to immortalize our storyline at least through a comic. It's not everyday that I meet random people with characters/stories of their own and eventually our toons' tales became so intertwined that it turned into a complete storyline so to speak lol /babble

OMG! That is a great first panel! I love the dragon! This actually looks like it's going to be a professional-looking comic, not like the sketchy one I'm doing XD I'm so excited to read this!
Ravenhawk
*hugs* Thanks Thistle. The thing is, my sketches are too messy to pass for a comic page and I don't have an in between style between my sketches and finished drawings yet lol. So I decided to just do my usual method, only difference is that I leave some roughness in the drawing. XD
I planned to keep things as a surprise but I kinda need help with the anatomy of the second panel since I don't have a real reference for it (esp with the angle that I wanted). So yeah here's a preview. Something's off with the hand placement and maybe his right shoulder I think lol

Looks like a real blacksmith too me. Keep it going.
Thistle Xandra
I love his face so far! He looks rough and REAL with the thinning hair and forehead wrinkles!
For the hand issue: I tried pretending I was holding a hammer handle, and the only thing I can think of is that the hand would be angled down while it looks like in yours it might be angled up (almost like how you would make a fist and rest it a table instead of jutting out and holding handle parallel to the arm)? If that makes any sense??
His shoulder looks good to me though :P

Wow! That cover is going to look so awesome! TOTALLY reminds of X-men and their totally awesome action poses on covers.
InfestedHydralisk
Hmm, I feel like something is missing on that cover. But I don't know what...
Ravenhawk
@IH - Uhm..his sword? XD
Thanks Thistle! Well, X-Men is one of my huge influences. Actually, I wanted it to look that way like in comicbook covers ^^
Here's my update for tonight:

Thanks Morag. ^^ Just one more to go..arm hurts so I am gonna rest tomorrow again:

InfestedHydralisk
I like the face of Raven, that one is really well done.

Tommy's
I like all the faces I must say. One point of improvement I would like to point out from this piece is imo male arms. They look a bit bulgy and round. Perhabs try more edgy corners and such? Btw are you going to color it?
Perynne
Oh wow, that's very well done! <3
I love how many different characters you have in the drawing, there's always something to look at no matter where the eye wanders. Good job, can't wait to see it finished!

Yes, Tommy, I am coloring it ^^. Tried to fix the arms a bit but I dont think I did that great of a job lol
Thought I'd get it finished this weekend but well it's Easter and got some other stuff that I did
Please ignore the super bright colors and the seemingly meaningless hand gestures lol . They will be fixed.
A bit of a background. I never drew the last two females at the top before. The blonde girl is inspired by one of our monks in the guild and the other is my original version of my monk Dani (the one Magik drew ^^)

Eryn looks great, very real expression if that makes sense
Btw on the actionposter of your comic (?) who is the lightning chick? She looks pretty cool ^^

@Magik - Thanks ^__^
@Morag - Sure. I'll try to work on it sporadically. My next two comic pages have only male characters. I am sure I'll miss drawing a femme in between lol
@Tommy - Thanks. yeah I consciously made an effort to change the way I draw the face and think more of Eryn's personality.
As for the other question, You meant the girl in blue in this pic?

That's Phoenix. She's a character inspired by the second founder of our guild whom we've lost contact as of this time (busy IRL last time we talked.). She's a monk in Guild Wars. Dunno if there are people here who attended some meet and greets of the GW RP Guilds back then. But I am referring to Phoenix Oathwind - our guild's resident diplomat lol.

Hmm..I might re-do Morag's sketch. I found a nice pencil -like brush in PS and liked it. Uhm yeah this is just a random girl.

Morag, yeah I know! I feel the same way. It's like my sketches became waaay better just because of the brush lol.
And here it is for everyone. It's totally free and no strings attached (thanks to the author):

Here's another sketch. Was just playing around with expressions/styles and decided the face reminded me of Mina ^^

I also got a terrified guy expression but I forgot to upload it. I am actually gonna use that sketch on the comic page I am working on atm lol

You draw alot of 'serious business' faces.
