Anyone else just got a perma ban?

They banned 4 of my accounts, only one of them I put a ticket for. all 4 got banned in 3 different ban waves. All Restored at the same time. I didn't even do a ticket for 3 of them and they still got unbanned

I think maybe they should run a bunch of tests to make sure the ppl they are going to ban are rly doing something wrong and they have 100% proof. an automated system takes nothing in to account other then what its programed to, and if that auto ban system glitches then ppl get ban for no reason, someone or anet thought it would b better to place a "bot" to watch out for bots clearly they were wrong. I also think some kind of we are sry "someone" fuked up package is in order some kind of ingame item or items for the ppl that were wrongly ban!!

Since creating my account, I got married, which changed my name, meaning proof of ID would no longer work since my ID's have my new name on it. I then changed my first name because it was difficult to pronounce for the people in the US, where I moved to from Europe. Which is where the adress comes in. I've changed locations so many times, I have no idea what adress I had when I created the account. Even more so because as a kid, I always had two adresses because of divorced parents.
CD keys are long lost because of the insane amount of times I have had to move, I still have one key, but I have no idea which account it is linked to.
Sadly, when an account is close to 10 years old, a lot of things can have changed from when you gave them info during account creation. Personally I feel like the way theyre unbanning right now works fine. If someone did get their account stolen, and they do have the info to prove its theirs, by all means they should give that account back to the owner. But being unbanned for something you didnt do, only if you can provide information that was valid 10 years ago? Lets just say I'd still be banned, despite not having done anything wrong.

All planned Guild Wars Beyond storylines have been canceled. It seems like no money is being spent... ...And yet, they can afford to have a "Fraud & Game Security Lead", who can't hold down a job for longer than 3 years, combing over the GW code looking for hackers. Why the funds for this, but none of the other stuff? Drop him and save even more money, the game will run smoother. |

Half my acc's have been unbanned. Maybe the rest soon not sure? Give them time to go through them all seeing there were so many. I did put in a ticket but many acc's that DID NOT put in a ticket have been unbanned also.

I never reported anything, I just kinda gave up thinking it's maybe a queue to stop playing GW. I would never have known if it wasn't for Cosyfiep.

so I am back on all of my accounts---had only put in the support ticket on the main (as I couldnt remember the info I used for the others after 8 years, and a sh*t load of other [email protected] having gone on in my life since then.)
I am in agreement on the ignorant way this was carried out (yes by the kid--and I am waaay old enough to be his mother--if I were his mom he would be grounded for life and if I were his boss--he would have found a nice pink sheet of paper in his mail and that his access card deactivated)
and the poor communication skills of the CS team as well as the amount of time it took to take care of this---my anger is very long lived (ask my hubby).
Yes, we got our accounts back, but they never should have been banned in the first place, and the relationship with this company has been permanently tarnished. (and yeah, I never fly by untied airlines after what they did to me---25 years ago)

I am finding a bunch of ppl that were ban are now unban including ppl that should have been ban and stayed ban. but as of now. I still am unable to log in to any of my or my wives accounts. I hope this is not a sign of things to come!! feeling rly let down by ANET and allowing a child with a GOD complex to have the access to such stuff!

Well Im happy for all who got unbanned without doing anything wrong, and from all this we can learn, never get multiple accounts, even if u allready got em, dont use more then one anymore so things like this wont happen again! ;D Since from what i see, noneone with only 1 account was banned in first place!

Wow, everyone I am so happy for all of you, I am really ecstatic you have all gotten your accounts back. I am stuck at work still and I am ever so hopeful my accounts are also restored. I will update you guys when I get back home.

I would still like to know what flagged my accounts --botting? seriously I cant pvp and have no reason to do this, but I can do random things while playing so that I do not look like a bot (heck I dont even farm--just cant sit that long). was it being in jq on the zquest day to get rid of the quest on my paragon? guess I wont go to jq everagain. 3rd party program? is my texmod corrupt? is there something wrong with my exe of gw? (should I rereredownload it?)

I can understand all the frustration for everyone. so far this year I had 4 deaths in my family then I go to log on and lost 4 accounts total . everything is going in 4s for me this year. happy I can not have any more kids I would end up with 4 new bbys lol but I am vry happy for everyone that got accounts back. as soon as mine are returned to me I will let everyone kno. and thanks to everyone that got the ball rolling for all of us to have this unjust act corrected

2 accounts on my sisters birthday 17th of this month.
only sent in a ticket on my main account, would still like answers.
and yeah, what compensation are they going to give to folks who were erroneously banned? sorry just isnt gonna cut it especially when many missed that holiday (I was lucky to still have 2 accounts that could do it). Personally I want a mini panda or island guardian. (and the resignation of the kid).
and dang only 2 deaths in my family this past year....4 is just ....(no words for it), hang in there.

I would b happy with 1 stack of ectos and a mini polar bear or panda. (and the resignation of the kid). I doubt we will get out of this. matter of fact when I went threw all of this to get my account back that was hacked I got nothing back. all ectos shards gold and armors,weps everything was gone and I was told . sry we can not roll back accounts that software is "broken" and no longer available for use lol was out 1500e I power traded for 6 months to get that. was saving up to finish off my zrank

I'm glad people are getting unbanned finally. If this happens again, do this again. The whole forum and support ticket and complaint thing. Don't be discouraged by people who make passive, condescending comments.
Now that you're back in the game, screen shot all your title tracks, favorite armor, and anything else you want to document. That way if it happens again or the game is shut down, you'll have some screen shots for keepsake.

yes, the first thing I did was to screenshot characters that I had none for (I had quite a few days to go thru thousands of screenshot to find these...what else did I have to do?-and no sorry tooo bloody cold here to go outside and at 4am the only things on tv are infomercials!).
so I had time to think while at my doctor's appointment today, what we sooth some of my ire.
and here are my suggestions (you may add to them)
1) a support forum for gw issues --the gw2 forum is for gw 2 issues only and many have received infractions for posting there about gw issues--if this is how they treat folks who have supported them for 10 years, its no wonder we are all angry! (and yes, I understand what would be involved in setting such a thing up--as I do not have access to posting on that forum since I do not have a gw2 login).
2) TRAINING for ALL customer service people in ALL areas of BOTH games...none of this taking care of only tickets that are about money for anet issues and leaving folks who have issues like we did to get stuffed. NO company worth its salt would leave their customers hanging this long without contacting them--that is really piss poor business practice (unless your aim to to bankrupt your company).
3) better error codes, seriously code 45 covers quite a lot of ground, new separate codes for botting and a different one for 3rd party programs (would like them broken down even more but that would be a good starting point).
4) more responses from the anet folks (yes I DO know you are reading this, anyone with internet access can read our forums not just folks who are logged in). I understand their 'need' to not let on what they are using to detect activity, but...this is just plain disregard for their paying customers (heck even the cable company will give me back a day of free tv when they mess up).
5) checks and balances, even the us government does not give the kind of power this kid had to any one person--there should be a review panel of people who PLAY the game before mass bannings happen. and NO company allows their people to make immature posts on social media that will reflect poorly on their company without somekind of backlash (see: resignations--and there have been a bunch of them in the news recently).
well that was all I got for now.. I am sure I will come up with more as I try to get some sleep.
(oh and about the minipets...we know they can put specific items on peoples accounts--see gailes frogs)

The first ban wave had it right. That got 99% of the trouble people. Then they decided to keep banning and do overkill. So in the end, they just reverse it all it seems.

However they are vague in purpose, if you are banned you are basically considered an enemy of ArenaNet to a point. They will not tell you specifics because any information can be used to know what triggers bans, and then can be worked around and be avoided. If you give more precise ban codes, you are now specifying what pushed the ban on them..
At a certain point, it is hard to determine the bullscat from the truly innocent...
As I have said before to people, you cannot draw parallels with fighting bots to a war that can be lost or won. Its like the war of the west vs the "terrorists" of the middle east.
It is a cat and mouse game like previous A-Net devs have said, however, they left out the part where there are thousands of identical mouses that can repopulate and regroup very easily, some innocent, some guilty.
