since the hammer is slow i dont think it would be that good
also im thinking of putting hundred blades in intsead of flurry, since flurry is only for 5 seconds i think hundred blades would be better, just a thought havent tried it yet

Pain, have u farmed ettins with a hammer? I don't think so from ur build
They use balanced stance, and counter blow and hammer bash do nothing. Also frenzy is not indicated cause u don't have extra armour and dmg reduction from shield....
This is my build, that i use for farming ettins, and it works
Atributes goes like this (not sure cause i am at work now)
15 hammer mastery
11 tactics
11 strength
Skills:
Irresistable blow
Myghty Blow
Disperation Blow
Defy Pain (E)
Dolyak Signet
Watch urself
Sprint
Heal Sig
Ettins will do very little dmg to u (extra armour from Dolyak, Watch urself and defy pain). You will do a lot of dmg, also conditions. If u hit an irrezistable, myghty blow while they use heal sig u hit for 120+ (i use an elemental dmg hammer)
Also the drops are quite good, a lot better then when i use my axe or sword for farming.

OnT : I've been farming ettins outside Beetletun for 2 days now. Got about 40k =)
2 Sup Vig and 1 Sup Divine Favor. + Some minor things like tactics.

The first 2-3 runs i got 1-2 gold every time but now when i have farmed there for some time, i never get gold. It's even rare with purple pouldrons(?).
It has to be that Anti-Farming stuff. Do you guys know any things u can do to get the good drops back ?

Hey thx man for the build. I tried using it a while ago and got nothin but some crappy ones. I just decided to try it agian tonight and found a sup absorption. So thx agian. Btw how much should i sell the rune for??

Thanks for bringing this up. I'm using Don't Feel No Pain's Sword build but thanks to you, I just found 2 sup vigors and 1 sup absorbtion in one run. I used to think it was nerfed but it's not, it was just my luck.

I did about 40 runs with this before, and all I got was some minor runes from purple Pauldrons.
But today I soloed Grenth's Footprint, then came back and tried this. The first Ettin I killed dropped a Superior Healing Prayers rune! I think I was just really lucky, though. Can't see myself getting a gold per run, like others are saying.

Yay for dusting off the old 6 skill for the kill Sword Maiden build and having the 2nd Goldie to drop on the only Ettin run in months be the Sup Vigor I was gonna buy after I finished the run.

ive been using this build and its preety effective. but since im using victos blade, i took out flurry, since it used up alot of energy and doing less damage. I put in vigorous spirit, so i get healed 11hp on hit.
The only thing that annoys me, is that ive not been getting much "good golds". I havent found a sup absorb or vigor, ive only found monk runes as a good one. Today i found 2 golds in 2 runs. But, the runes i found in em...Should have never been put down as a gold. Those 2 were major swordsmenship and major curses... Did they do anything to the ettins farming spot? _____________-EDIT-___________ im using the original build thats on the first post of this thread, and the 2 areas outside of beetletun and near ascalon settlement. Are those the only places still? yed

Give it a break for a few days... or go farm somewhere else... or do a few missions... do something other than farm ettins for a little bit!
The game is not going to give you good drops after you roll through an area 10 times in a row.

Is there any good axe builds that dont use Elite skills? Im only up to Thunderhead Keep and have capped about 3 skills

Ive tried this run with an axe, doesnt work for me so i recommend sword.
btw. some update came up and now my run doesnt work so ettin farming is real real slow now

Take Cyclone Axe, Disrupting Chop, Executioners, and one other nice damaging axe skill, mending, balthazars, sprint, and something to heal yourself with. You should have no problem killing the ettins without an elite - it just helps to have eviscerate. =)
(I got eviscerate in Sorrows Furnace)

An Axe build works just fine - though a sword build with bleeding does it quicker.
I personally don't run 2 enchants - mending and balthazars - just mending works great. However - dolyaks with physical resistance and a collectors stance sheild will work just fine as well. (just so you don't have to take time switching between /me and /mo from the IDS run). ~Demon w0lla

just started to play again, waiting for Factions to be released. I started to farm superior runes from these Ettins, so far I've gotten 1 Sup Vig and Sup Abs, and alot of shit, but anyway, I run a W/Mo build, which is very "noob"-friendly :P, u can take on 6 ettins at a time and slaughter them all, pretty fast too. I use the following skills 1. Dolyaks 2. Frenzy 3. Galrath 4. Final Thrust 5. Berserks Stance 6. Healing Hands 7. Live Vicariously 8. Sprint attr. 15 sword 10 strenght 9 tactic 8 Healing --- Cast Live.Vic, find a group of 3-6, start with berserks stance to get ur adrenaline up, when it ends activate dolyak with frenzy, spam galrath and final thrust (and frenzy as long as u have dolyak activated), if ur Hp runs really low, activate HH ( frenzy at the same time), HP 100%, galrath + final thrust , and then berserks again, well u get the drift.

I never get any luck with these runs, never. I farmed for 3-4 hours to only get a bunch of white pauldrons and humps.

What effect does farming with henchies have? Do you not get as many dropps or something?

if you're 6 in a group, each personn will have somme drops (including henchies, but their drops are invisible)...
so, you divide the loots and money by 6 If you're alone, well, you're alone

Just did a rune run and not 1 single rune!!!! 3 pauldrons changed color as they hit the ground, so I guess thats it. Well I'v had a good time killing ettins, but seams I have to find another place now lol.

*something* is definately up with the last update. went farming and got around 15 drops ..... ALL white. wasnt antifarming code for sure b/c i had just done the DDF quest and capped SoJ beforehand. so after that, i switched builds to farm titans and again got around 7 titan armor drops ..... ALL white (got a few blue weapons here tho). anyway, i doubt its just bad luck and i seriously hope whatever the update did isnt permanent.

a later update fixed the issue. 2 sup abs, 2 sup swords, 2 sup curse, 2 sup axe, sup fire, sup blood, and sup illusion for about an hour and a half work. plus about 10 major abs/vigors.
just a thought- but since the update i havent seen a gold produce a major rune. was i just really lucky or have they finally made it where golds give only superior.

Can't wait to try again - i get lousy drops from ettins for some time now...since they upped the sup.absorb rune drops I'll commit to some ettin-massacring with standard riposite-interrupt-dolyak build real quick.
