Rune Farming - Ettin exploitation

got another ettin build:

Axe - 12+4
Strength - 9+1
Tactics - 9+1

Eviscerate
Penetrating
Disrupting
Frenzy
Dolyak Signet
Healing Signet
"For Great Justice!"
Sprint

use dolyak signet + FGJ + Frenzy, hit eviscerate, pen, disrupt their heal sig, and 3 ettins go down per FGJ shout

its intense :P Looks tasty

Personally, I would take out Flurry and replace it with Savage Slash to interrupt their healing signet...which they use very frequently. Where do you find the flurry skill?

what do u guys mean when u say by acelon settlement? i cant seem to remeber if thats a zone.. adn where is it?? It's North Kryta Province (the zone). When you first enter NKP you go through the Ascalon settlement, with all the NPC's walking around.

To all you who have had no luck ..... be persistent. I have had many runs with nothing but majors and minors, but I've also has some great runs, one of the best being two superior vigors, a superior healing and a major vigor. I now have superior vigors for all my characters and a superior absorbtion for my warrior.

I wish anet would make all gold armors superior runes.

I wouldnt mind if I got loads of purps, and blues and only the occasional gold, but I HATE getting tons of golds only to find major runes.

Oh well, I can't complain as I've had 2 sup absorbtions last week. (1 from ettins and 1 from titans)

The gold/purp/blue system does seem out of whack though i agree after finally thinking my luck changed i wait to id them all at same time had 3 golds 4 purps and came out 5 majors and none worth anything i got to say im still having bad luck considering best drop so far is major vigor but ima try some more (i really need a sup vigor and absorb for pvp)

Ok, so just to get things clear, whats the best run for farming ettins? the place outside beetletun has around 12, but when i go to the one near ascalon settlement, i only see around 7. I am not sure if anyone else has figured this out yet. But there is a quest in the Ascalon Settlement area that is called I think "The Prized Pig". If you take that quest and then go find the pig. Which is just down a bit on the path to the right when you zone in from Beetlenun. Once you touch the pig and start herding him back to the farmer this triggers eight more Ettins to spawn and come right at you in intervals.

In fact once you zone into AC from beetlenun you can look back through the zone portal and see the ettins.

If you don't ever finish the quest you can do this repeatedly. I have been using it basically since I started farming them.
