Chest Farming

I was just wondering if chest farming is a banable offence, or does it just count as regular farming, because i did it for about 5 mins and made 1.2k, but i dont want to do it if i could get banned.

Farming in general is not banned. Just the use of bots and other resources that are not part of the programing of the game.... Think of it like this, do you really think you could get 60,000 Gold by just doing regular missions? Even through Ascencion? If you did, I think your not thinking straight. Beside when they put in the Rune Traders they killed the Market on the product.(Must have been an excutive decision, come on 1 superior rune of Vigor is 60K+)

. i just hope they dont think im using a bot kus i do the same thing over and over for 5 mins at a time, i think ill just say stuff every now and then.

I do every now and then. Makes good money. You can get about 6k+ in an hour if you keep doing it over and over, atleast from the one in the desert. The bots are screwing it up for every legit player cause its becoming very laggy in certain places.

Ok, thanks for the replys everyone, im gald that the only real way iv found of making money is safe. BTW, from my spot i make about 1.2k in 5 mins, is that gd for 5 mins work?

yes, 1.2 for 5 min is very good, at that rate, in a little over 12 hours you'ld have all the gold you need for a set of shiverpeak 15k armor. You could do it, 1 hour a day for 2 weeks (so you don't get super bored) and go get your armor.

only one ive found so far thats a reasonable distance from town is a barell outside of divinity coast that frequently pops gold/purple items... course, at that stage in the game its only mid level stuff... nice for salvage/sale though.

oh, ive ascended and am working through south shiverpeaks right now
divinity coast was just the most "farmable" barell/chest i had found yet. thanks for the PM's gonna try that later today. just farmed the divinity coast barrel for about 5 minutes while waiting on food and got 2 golds, 4 purples and some miscellany... which is good cause after getting some shiverpeak armor for my warrior and lions gate armor for my upcoming monk... i was getting a bit low on basic crafting stuff

Oh, i no that one, my chest take much less time to get to, but i rarely gives purple, and iv never had gold.

Well I cant seem to find the one outside of divnity coast. Can someone point me in the direction it? I did find one though when you exit temple of ages. Its a barrel with a good 3 weapon drop. Only farmed it 2 times so far and got a blue item.

My friend found 4 chests in the shiverpeakers, all next to each other, then gave 4 gold items.

I think people dont want to disclose exact location so they dont get nerfed, but if anyone wants to share locations, i dont mind.

Ill post the location of mine in a min. Though most people know it, its a real money getter. Thats also where alot of bots are at too.

You should be carefull farming somewhere with lots of bots, you may get mixed with people using bots, not something that you want to happen.

Fair enough then. Does anyones spots get good gold or purple items, I really want to find a nice bow, mine isnt really that good, if you no a spot you dont have to tell me here, you can PM ingame.

Here is my spot I go to. Ive only found 2 purple from it out of about 20 runs and no rares. Plenty of blue though. The 2 big green dots are the locations to the weckages with items and the other 2 smaller dots have gold. This run is meant to ignore the monsters and just run it. Easy if you have a warrior but im doing them with a N/E and I dont die untill I get to the last weckage and by then I already collected everything.

You really got me curious, but i figured I wouldnt message you, cause I knew you already had quite a few.
I noticed something odd about chests, you get gold items from them, if you kill the monsters around. Like the grawls, if you run through that chest drops crap. But if you go grawl farming, it drops gold stuff.

Yeah, it'd be fabulous if some kind soul could disclose a nice chest farming spot for me. I may have found one, it's in the Southern Shiverpeaks, relatively close to Port Sledge. It's where there are tons of Grawl. Me (E/R) and a friend of mine who is also and Ele did this area with only the healer h(w)ench. There are pretty nice drops, I've gotten a few gold, but there are quite a few purples. 
Beware though... I have noticed a LOT of lag recently in this spot, so if you plan to farm here, don't do it for too long, or you may just get your account chucked.

I'm farming my Shiverpeak spot and am with a warrior hench and a healer hench. It is working pretty well. Those Azure Shadows will kill you unless you stand back and let the warrior take some hits. Just some advice from someone who knows... if you have a group of 3 (or less, though I don't know why), NEVER aggro more than 3 of those Azures at a time. They will pummel you. It's happened to me already. Other than that, the swag isn't too bad, a couple runes.

Cool, ill do that soon. The runs on divinity coast are great too. Ive already gotten 2 purple and 1 gold from it.

Sweet, I'll have to check that out. But you do mean the mission part correct? I heard about the Divinity Coast runs and left DC from the portal (not the mission start) and all there are are Oakhearts, and those annoying Spined Aloes, or whatever they are. Thanks for the tip.

It's a darn shame that they seriously nerfed the Drake Runs from Gates of Kryta. We used to be able to dual those. Now the Drakes do 113 instead of 13 on my character with lightning orb . Swag isn't good there anymore either... I remember when it was quite possible to pick up 2-3 golds in a day there

Sigh, I found the Divinity Coast spot months ago and was farming it, don't know how it got out, only told clan and two friends. Just to let you all know, it was nerfed during the last patch. Drops used to be MUCH, MUCH better.

Ive gotten all the info I need. 2 Gold from coast already along with 4 purple in just 7 runs is nice. The gold from seeker's is great. I wont give out anymore places but I know one other that is great loot and its in southern shiverpeak.

one of them is near marhans grotto if you walk out the gate hold alt youll see a chest it drops near max items, and alot of fiery dragon swords, moslty blues and purples, and some rare golds max damge, it drops weapons that sell for 50g each and if you keep going more up youll find a second chest drops items too, each chest drops about 3 items so it would be 6 items of 50 each so it comes to about 300g in one 2min run.
the other chest i know of is neat beacouse ther is awarp gate near it and on other side ther is a merchant that you can sell your items to so you can keep doing this over and over again, the chest you must start at dunes of despair walk out and activate that teleporter thingy youll get warp to this new area this area has 2 chest on in middle of it which i hard if you becaouse ther is 2 worms the other is near a warpgate right across. hard chest drops between 100-300g and the other cehst near gate drop s3 items of various vallues. the good thing is the vendor on other side
so you never have to warp to town to sell your items.
