Amigo, www.guildwars.com says you need to ask the retailer for a key, just keep asking them. There is nothing you can do really beyond that. Ug!

You should have been able to set up your account before the Event starts, so it sounds like you just have a bad Key. Go to the Guild Wars website and try to contact them and see what they can do for you.

I am a little confuesed, i was reading some posts and it sounds like there is a difference between the stores release version and the pre-order version...
Or can i get the "preorder" like from the guilwars.com(then threw Best buy for example) and play it a day earlier then just continue playing with that copy of the game or do i need to go buy a release version also?
This info is just from reading other posts and it got me worried! So if somone can clarify that would be great!

There is no pre-order version.
The pre-order package is (among other things) a CD with the game's client and a key to access the betas. Once the game is released you still have to buy it.

Here is what I have not been able to figure out exactly:
I can play in the Beta Event with my pre order game client and pass code, when the game goes live on the 28th I will buy it from my local retailer. How will the early access work? Will I use the client that I can get from the website or pre-order box and the key I recieved with my pre-order? If that is the case then when do I need to get the retail version and how will I switch from the pre-order version to the retail version? If it is not the case that I can use the pre-order key and game client then how do I access the game early? Feel free to post your guesses, but if anyone happens to have a factual answer I would be more than happy to hear it. Thanks in advance.

The early access goes live on the start of the 27th, and you can play using your preorder account from that time. The early access period goes for 48 hours. So that means you get to play for all of the 27th and 28th before you must enter your retail CD-Key.
I don't know the exact mechanism for entering your retail CD-Key, but I'm guessing it will give you an option when you try to log in, and after the end of the 28th it will require it or you won't be able to play anymore.
When you enter your retail CD-Key your account will change from early access/preorder to full retail version. You use the same client.

Just to clarify for my own sake i get both the real game and the preorder game that i will be able to play on the 27th? And would i get both the real game and preorder in time for 27th thing? HERE is a link to what i am talking about...

How long do we have with the beta key until we need to put a retail key in to continue playing? Is it the 29th? If so, that is not alot of time for the people that pre ordered and need to wait for thier copy. Any chance to have this timeframe extended?

I bought a magazine back a ways that had a beta code in it, but my buddy ended up not able to play that month, and I had been saving for a buddy to join me in game sometime (I used the friends code from the preorder box already for someone, what a waste... he ended up only playing about an hour, so I bought the magazine to be able to invite another friend.). I finally convinced a friend of mine to give the game a try, but I hear that only the pre-order codes will work for this beta. Is this true? Is there any way to get the pass from the gaming magazine to work, or will it work as it was never used? (I only bought it for the code...I already read enough about the game that the interview was a waste.)

Okay, if we get to play one day ahead, but we can't put our game keys in until the next day, what happens if our inventory slots are already full when we enter the CE key?

I pre-ordered 3 copies of Guild Wars (at £24.99 each) from Gameplay but was only sent 1 access key and 1 invitation key. Aren't I supposed to get 3 sets of keys for each copy of Guild Wars I ordered? If I had known I wouldn't get a set of keys for the other copies that I ordered in a single purchase, I might have as well ordered from Play.com which sells the game at £17.99 but doesn't include the pre-order package. Anyone got any idea how this works? Perhaps I should just cancel the order instead.

They say that i should get the key in the 14th (today)
it's already 3am and i haven't got it yet. maybe because of the time difference.....?

OK. If any of you were getting the Network Error 21 message after you entered your key code, try it now; it should be working. It appears to have been a technical problem on the server end. Also, for those of you that may not know what happens next after you enter a successful key code, you get this mouth watering message that welcomes you and reminds you to return on Friday 15 Apr for the beta event.

you can't play after the given time until you enter in your pre-order key. Your accounts won't be erased, they'll just be on hold

Hello, i just pre-ordered my guild wars at about 2:00 pm est today. Will i get my CD code via email tonight to i can paly the weekend event? Or did i jsut pre order it for no reason? Im confused. I ordered from the link to best buy at the guild wars official website.
