Could anyone tell me how to go about verification of code used? A friend of mine is unsure of which access code they used to establish their account. Not sure if they entered the You're Invited or the Beta Event code. Was looking to give away a free code if I can somehow verify the established account code.

Please help...so I can help another....

The one on the "You're Invited" is the single use friends pass. The "Beta Event" is the beta pass. It's the later you want to keep as that one will let you play a day early when the game's released.

Rex I'm looking at them both now and the Invited says the sneak preview before actual final release and in game weapon and such. The Beta says invite a friend to join you .. access code for a friend etc.

But I am wanting to verify which was used by someone (hubby) since they can't remember which code they typed in last November. Is there an option somewhere that will show which code was used? I don't want to give out the Beta Friend code if that is the one they originally typed in to establish their account. (i.e. if you open excel and go to help and go to about excel is show you the product registration code...that is the kind of thing I'm looking for)

Sorry if I'm not to clear on this. I know what I'm trying to say but maybe nobody else does...

Has your husband played in more than one beta event? If so then he put in the correct code and you can give your friend both codes and they can try them both and only the friends pass one will work.

No, he is too stubborn!!!! (gggrrrr) But I think I've conned him into playing a bit this weekend.

So from what you have said if he can still login in once this event starts and his character is still active then he has used the Invited code and I should be able to let go of the Beta Friend code?

Has anyone else been unable to create an account? After I hit the Create Account button, I click continue after choosing a country and then get an error message (Err=5) stating it is unable to connect to the server due to an network or server error. Then tells me to go to www.guildwars.com/support which has no help for this problem.

I am behind a router but not sure if this is whats causing it. Any help? Got a beta key burining a hole in my pocket!!

I have a key I got from preordering Guild Wars from Importmadness.com. How can I know which item will I get as a gift upon launch? I know that there are several different items (for EBGames, GameStop etc.) but I don't know which one is associated with Importmadness.com and neither do they know for sure.

Ok! I started this most recent beta with a friend-pass that someone gave me. I went out today and pre-ordered the game - do I need to activate that code to be able to get the unique item when the game comes out - or will I still recieve it with the friends-pass I was using...?

If I will need to sign up again (with my pre-purchase code I just got) am I able to delete my current character and re-use the name or is there a wait period on that?

the friends pass is a one shot with no item

the name is kept one hour after deleting a character giving you the time to create a new character of the same name

How do I transfer my Guild Wars account from a temporary (Friend's Pass, contest access key, magazine access key) key to the permanent Beta Weekend Key that I received in my preorder package?

If you are using a one-time pass, the next time you join a Beta Weekend Event, you will be prompted for an access key. Input that new (permanent) access key number and your account will be saved with that access key for the future.
Can I transfer my character from a temporary account to a permanent account, such as that associated with a preorder package?

If you change from a temporary account to the permanent Beta Weekend Account offered with the Guild Wars Preorder Package, your account remains unchanged. If you have two separate accounts, unfortunately character transfer is not offered.

Ok so i bought the pre-order at BESTBUY so now i know i will get the shield.

BUT, i played the beta weekend and loved it, so was the box and stuff that held the envelope just A useless box with some art in it.

i mean do i have to go back to bestbuy with my reciept and pay the rest of my money and then get ANOTHER box with the actual game in it or what...

confused....

i think that when you pay the rest of the money you will get the acctual game in a seperate box, obviously you will get the game when it comes out

and if u say those ppl bought the game online then thats not true, cuz GW said that u cant get the special beta keys from any online source, its only inside a pre-order box...

so wtf is gonna happen. am i not gonna have to pay anymore money than my $10 to play the game forever

or am i gonna just get an early extra day of free play and then go to the store the next day... WTF is goin on, very unclear

I ordered CE the other day ok, but it hasn't arrived yet. When it does (god pray that's today) will I get the game disks ready for install, or will they be shipped out later, when it's released?

you will not receive the CE until the game is released. i would not expect the package for at least another week..

So I Pre-Ordered the game on the 18th (Yesterday) And I got the standard ground shipping (5-10 Days) But what I want to know is when they send the game out, I ordered from Gamespot, It would suck to have them send it out on the 26th and have to wait like 5-10 days to play >.< so if you know anything to help me out I will be your best friend

Ps. I kinda need an answer fast because im going on a trip and Im not gonna be seeing the boards for a while =D

every store i have seen says shipping date 26 th and allow as much as 24 hours for processing

which is why i paid for overnight shipping for the first time

theoretically you have a copy reserved in your name from the inventory so if there is a run on the game you wont get a message saying

sorry we are out of stock and will ship in 2 weeks when the resupply comes in (add 5-10 days shipping to the 2 weeks)

I played this weekend using a friends pass a friend gave me...i really liked the game so i decided to go and buy a pre-order.

So now i tried logging to guild wars and it asked me for an access code again and i put in the code i got in the pre-orer...then it said that i can now participate in beta events

So should my account be set up for early access now?
