Pre-orders can play on the 27th and no sooner.

Yeah, the servers open 27th. If you have it preordered, and it's arrived at your house, then you can play.

You can also use your beta key from the 27th till the end of the 29th. That gives people a chance to play while waiting for there package.

I picked up a two-day prior date somewhere.

Is it possible I can add other Pre Order keys to my account to get the extra items.. If so, I will go buy some pre order cd's from differnt retails (I bought mine and I'm going ot buy my game from EB, *Bow* *drool* but would like the shield etc....

Just to let everyone know...

I had pre-ordered from Amazon a couple weeks ago, and in typical Amazon fashion, you have to /buy/ a pre-order disk seperately.

Anyway, against my better judgment, and past game ordering history, I /still/ selected the FREE shipping option.

Today, I was cruising around, thinking about the beta event I just played in, and decided to check back on the status of my order. I was getting a Shipping Date of April 12 - May 4, with a Delivered Date of May 7 - May 10. Just a little unaccptable.

So, I decide to bite the bullet and pay for shipping. That didn't change my Delivered Date estimates by much, Delivered May 8 as the latest it showed.

After seeing this, I fire off a support question, asking why the Shipping Date has a 3 week range, for a game released on the 28th. I get a response that all Amazon game pre-orders are in a queue, and they do not ship before the retail street date. Being in a queue, means that if they had enough sent to them, I could get it started processing on the 28th, and maybe get it by the 7th of May or the 10th. Best case scenario.

Unaccptable. So, I go past EB on my way home tonight, pre-order from there. Get confirmation that they will have a copy for me in hand on the 28th, and leave with a FREE pre-order pack. So, I just now canceled my Amazon order, too bad for them.

As an aside. Amazon's FREE shipping is very misleading. If you order something, and select the FREE shipping option, and Joe Blow down the street orders the same product but doesn't select the FREE option, he gets his package a lot sooner than you? Example, I pre-ordered HL2 from Amazon (had a $25 gift card) and selected the FREE shipping. A good friend of mine pre-orders two weeks later (the DAY before official release date), and he receives the game and completes the entire single player portion before I even have my copy in hand. Both shipped via UPS using the same options, both used the same packaging... Nice. So, if you're in a hurry, pony up the casholia... Most times, I'm not that interested in the dates, but for some reason GW sure has it in for me....

Does anyone know if its possible to change your shipping options after you finalized the order? I ordered from GameSpot with the standard ground shipping...but i dont wanna get the game so late after release...is there anyway to change this?

i got a couple of questions, so please bear with me

if i preorder the game for 10 dollars, and the game is 50, do i just have to pay 40 dollars for the rest of the game when it comes out? or do i have to pay 50?
i know the beta weekend stuff is over, but the in game special items in the preorder look pretty nice- is it even worth it to buy the preorder just for the items and bonus stuff?
also, i got thoroughly addicted to this game when a friend of mine gave me a friends pass- will my name on the friends pass be reserved when i get the full game? or will i have to make another one?

I think I'm missing something. Do I have to physically go to my EB store and pick up a preorder package?

the preorder key is in the preorder box

it will have a white envelope with the preorder key to set up your account along with a friends one time pass (now useless)

if you did not get a preorder box (or envelope) with the keys in it you do not have it since you said you did not get the key codes in email

Still confused. What am I supposed to get. A box with a cd and cdkey? The retail box? A preorder box? Is it sent to my door? what's in this preorder box?

Thinkin of cancelling and just buying it on the 28th.

it may take a few days to process and get to you.
if the preorder has shipped most places will not allow a cancel of it

on ebgames.com , if you buy the GW collectors edition, you get 3 months free of teamspeak, and a headset. I always thought that teamspeak was free? did this change, or are they talking about something different? thanks

can the friends passes be used for april 27th?
i wanna give it to a friend so he will be convinced to buy it.
but the package arived a FUDGING DAY LATE(lol, im never gonna get over this as long as i shall live .what was i saying?) for the bwe, so i wanna give him a try. do i hvae to give him my code to do it or can i just give the friends code?

I think I did 3 day shipping from EB when I pre-order back in November. Okay I have 48 hrs to input a retail key. If I do not, then I cannot continue to play until I do. where to start....

from what i have gathered, i understand how all of this is going down. now, i ordered 2 copys of GuildWars, a CE for myself and a regular one for a buddy of mine, now when they sent the bonus packs, only 1 of the packs had a BWE code, of course... i used that one and gave my friend the 2 day pass code so he too could play at the last BWE. i preordered from ebgames and finally called them today to see what was up, come to find out, they only sent me 1 BWE code because only 1 per person, i told them it was for my friend and now their sending the package agian with the code.... little late i know! so if all goes well, my buddy will still have a code to put in so he can take part in the joy of preordering the game and get a head start like all of the others that have preorderd the game.

but, heres my question if anyone knows the answer, will my friend still get the preorder item to his account even though he didnt get his own BWE code?? i know the items arent ubber, but still be nice to get the item seeing how that was a determing factor in preordering the game from ebgames along with wanting to see the game at the last BWE. if anyone knows how arenanet is doing all this pls tell :P. like... how on earth are they knowing witch product is preorder and which isnt? is it based on the BWE code and then what retail code you type in?

presumably the preorder key would be good after release for the item if not any BWE

I've pre-ordered the game (collectors edition), but was in Nebraska visiting my son last weekend during the Event, so was unable to play because I forgot to take my key with me so I could use it on my sons computer. I'd like to know how I can now reserve the name of the main character I want to play. Any answers appreciated, and I'm really bummed that I wasn't able to join in on the event weekend.

27th through 28th, if you dont have your retail game by the end of the 28th you can no longer play.

Don't worry, the items won't be overpowered, if anything they will be too weak and not much of an incentive to buy from certain retailers.

The date today is april 22 2005, i have recieved my pre order box and got to the step where you enter the beta pass code, and when i try to enter this code i get an error saying "the access key you have entered has redundant rights". have tryed about 10 times now and hoping someone ehre knows what to do...

I have never played in any BWEs, and if I have to wait till the 27th, do I still get my preorder items?

No one answered the question about pre-ordering from Best Buy. I ordered the game with next day shipping on the 22nd. Am I supposed to get a key in the mail and wait on the CD's? On checking the order status it says to be shipped on the 28th...what's the point in preordering if I can't get it until several days after the stores get it??? In addition to that, I only had a friends pass so unless I get a key in the mail, I won't be able to play till I get the game in hand right?

HOWEVER....i just got an email with a ups tracking number which shows it is as close as nevada as of 6 AM this morning and will arive on monday

I just got the pre-order box yesterday and i tried to enter in my code but all it said was "your account already has access to the rights this key provides"

I pre ordered and participated in the last bwe but now when i go back on it says i have to enter my key. but i have already done it. anyway i entered it and it said that this key was alreay associated with this account. Will i still be able to play early?

I've played in the Beta Weekend Events and I've received a lot of files over that time. Do I pretty much have everything I need to play Guild Wars already on my computer?

No, not really. There are whole new regions you've never visited, so you will obtain those assets from the game CD. There are all those new missions and explorable areas and quests that you will acquire. And of course, there will be a modest update on the day you launch the retail version, which will revise any files we might have changed since the game went to duplication, and will also assure that you have the files that will entitle you to your spiffy in-game items and the newest account options.
