i really agree to what you say in yer initial post i gotta state, thati hardly believe the really "narrow" ones read forums even (tough hellraiser made me doubt my opinion in that one).
and for the red hair topic -> u shouldnt really be insulted by that for hellraiser cant even know yer sex from only meeting yer char (i know some guys, who play women mostly for example)

Now that i scammed this guy it taught him a lesson not to trust others online and maybe he wont be another guy that loses a supiror dragon sword or other precious items now that i taught him a lesson. Wasnt their a guy that said a sucker is born every minute.

mistress i agree with you one hundred percent. I would not by any will of my own subject myself to people such as hellraiser. I wonder whether these are his own views or whether he is doing this simply to star a raucous as his name implies. hellraiser how dare you think that because everyone else is doing something it is by definition right. just as there are those rare few that are strong enough to endure any circumstances there also happens to be those rare few that are genuinely good people. you may be someone looking for an excuse to insult others perhaps trying to justify your actions to alleviate your guilt. there is no justification simply learn to attone for what you have done and change you views on what is right and what is wrong.

Exploiting and scamming are too different things. Scamming there is always one rule of thumb. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is. I offered the guy 200k for a run to kryta. He even said him self he thinks its a scam but did it any way.

Mistress Eyahl and others who think like her- You are 100% correct that others should not try to ruin the experience for others in one way or another. There is a real person behind the computer who has feelings. No one should try to hurt others' feelings, but realize, this is just a game, the person offending you does not know the real you. Their comments should be nothing more than the words of a person who has yet to understand you.

Hellraiser and others who think like him- You are also 100% correct that this is just a game. Most people do not truly know eachother and thus are making either comments for fun, or because they do not know the other person well enough, in either case, it should not offend them. Regardless, you have to know and understand that it does offend some people, and you should not do it for that reason.

In conclusion- both people need to realize and come to an understanding on what eachother feel is considered decent conduct. It falls on both people, to deal with the problem. The person being offended needs to learn that this is just a game, and most things said don't have any true weight, though they might hurt you at first. The offender also must know that there is a real person behind the character and regardless of if they had intended to hurt his or her feelings or not, it does hurt some.

There is a *MUTUAL* misunderstanding between the two people. It is not simply one is right and the other is wrong.

It's under the same book. If you swap two items that look similar in order to trade scam, you are exploiting the trading system. You are switching two similar items that look alike. Technically, is it a "legit" trade? yes. But in a real sense it is not.

Please and scientist concluded even monkeys can read english words back words. It has been proven human brains can read spelling errors. such as Scuh = such you can still understand it.

But you have to realize that most of the time there is not a fun intent behind the insult. The person is out to personally attack the person either by making him pissed off [like i am] or anything you see fit to insert here.

being called a noob in a mmo is fun to me. I like being called a noob that way when i work on my skills i can get vengence to that person online. When people say your mom is what ever or you are a retard...ect in guildwars i dont take it personally as they dont know me in real life and probably never will.

Black Raine makes a very good point. A lot of the time I have come across people who casually throw an insult. The difference between them and people like Hellraiser is remorse.

I think we can ALL see that HR doesn't give ten elephants WHO he hurts and how, basically he sees it as his freedom of speech. His type of person is completely different to the others.
You are most welcome to make a comment about someone, only to realise you put your foot in it and then apologise afterwards. I think what we are all in agreement about is people like HR who think it's their RIGHT to act however they wish, need to see the bigger picture.

HR, just a comment. So many people are against what you say.. don't you think that that many people thinking the same thing might have a point? Maybe you should set your pride aside and admit that insulting a digital character controlled by a person is more than what you first thought?

no one needs any last line of defence in this arguement. Our last line of defence has more weight than the first of yours. I disagree with what was said before although it is indeed the responsibilty of both people you should choose your words carefully. It is my responsibility to ensure that people like hellraiser don't feel as though we are encouraging their behaviour. Do not take things to seriously but do not mock others that place a greater emphasis on something. if it is unimportant to you why not concede or actually pay out the dividend they are entiteld to. If it is merely a game to you then you should learn to understand that it is more to others, and decide hey perhaps i will not cheat for I feel it is only a game. I know I am simply recanting what I have said before but i am emphasizing it as no one has made reference to any of my comments, and i feel as though i am going unnoticed.

I signed it because i also agree with him. I agree with you guys that insulting can go to far and insulting is also a bad habit but on the other hand you guys have to agree with me that this is just a game and some people also take the game way to far.
