Kalgareth: thank you very much for posting this thread.
I tried it tonight and it works beautifully. In just a few hours I made back all of the money I spent on an Axe (4500g) + almost a plat + a bag and a half full of items of all colors, shapes and sizes.
Not to mention it was the most fun I've had playing this game in two weeks at least.
Thanks again.

My Opinions:
1) I don't think you needed zealot's fire to be casted more than once, it's a 60 second duration, after all.
2) I think shielding hands would have helped a TON there, 12 seconds of, pretty much, invincibility.
3) When dealing with a massive amount of mobs like that, healing breeze isn't going to do dip enough to be worthy of your skill slot. I'd replace it with shielding hands.
4) Retribution should have replaced with vigorous spirit, IMO
5) Knight's Armor would have helped a ton as well, more base reduction to pile on top of your massive armor.
6) 46 and 2 is my favorite Tool song
-edit-
I can't count.
-edit2-
I just did such a run with my E/Me, and got 2 rare swords, one of which has a 29hp swordpommel ^_______^
-edit3-
5 rares so far, 29 hp axegrip included. -_-; Well so much for Elona, this is my new thing.

I've been switching Live Vicariously with Endure Pain for a few runs, as I never managed to get it up in time.
However, the problem is the short time after Healing Hands runs out, where healing breeze won't be able to provide enough healing power for all the dmg you're receiving, since no mobs (at least with my dmg output) bit the dust yet.
Endure Pain was working ok, but only up to a certain mob size and even then it was still more luck than anything else.
So, I got back to Live Vicariously and am now triggering it right before Healing Hands is running out for the first time. Bonnetti's provides enough energy to make up for the lack of energy regeneration, plus every cyclone hit heals for enough points to cover a hell of a large group.
That skill set is perfect for my build - just adding a superior absorption and a sup vigor would make it rock even more
Anyway,
as Ba Ne already pointed out, this is a hell lot of fun, seeing yourself surounded by numerous mobs and still kicking ass - unless the skill timing goes bad

I wonder if it would be possible to use a sword and hundred blades to do the run? The only thing I fear is the slower recharge time of hundred blades.

as you asked, i tried doing this with a monk.. but an ele/monk
I can sort of do this with my E/Mo.. its just very difficult with the rockshots disrupting Mist Form..
I use
Balth Spirit
Retribution
Zealots Fire
Divine Boon
Mist Form {E}
Balth Aura
Symbol of Wrath
Extra Slot..
Attribs:
I think**
12 Water
12 Smiting
the rest doesnt matter I guess :/
I've done it a few times without the rockshots in my way, but theres always 1-2 stupid griffons who stay back and dont take damage and then when I kill all of the other griffons.. my mist form runs out and i get owned
Disadvantage: I MUST kill all griffons in 18 seconds or less because of mist form..
what I tried to do while failing was
Balth Spirit and Retribution at beginning
run run run.. get them to follow
Mist form
Zealots
Balth Aura
Symbol
Spam divine boon until they all die
then the 1-2 griffons gang on me when the others die and i get owned. . .
the bad thing is.. i cant use healing hands because they hit me for like 30-60.. so that would make it like 10-40 damage anyway :/
any suggestions
?

Lava Font
Inferno
Firestorm
Eruption
Mistform
Mending
Balthazar's Spirit
Watchful Spirit
Attributes:
I start mission with
Energy Storage-8 (minor rune)
Healing-8
Water-15 (12 + sup rune)
Fire-11 (maybe 12?) (sup rune + hat)
I cast Mending, Watchful Spirit, Balthazar's for 5 HP regen.
I then lower Healing to 5 and raise Energy Storage to 10.
I use a Staff of Enchanting +18%
With 15 Water, Mistform lasts 20 seconds. With the staff, it lasts 23-24 seconds.
I can't quite gather everyone up b/c once I get too many griffons chasing me, they start to do more dmg than my health regen can compensate for. So I end up with all the minotaurs and 8-12 griffons. And I've learned where not to go if I don't want a rockshot screwing things up for me. Once I gather them up, here is my strategy:
Mistform
<switch to fire staff for quicker casting and recharge>
Lava font
Firestorm
Lava font
Inferno
Eruption - With Earth 0 this is only doing like 5dmg/sec, but after 5 secs it causes Blindness on everyone in the area.
Lava font
Inferno
<Mistform runs about about now, but so does Eruption, blinding everyone so they can't hit me>
Lava font
<repeat until Mistform is ready>
Mistform <blindness ends around now so I usually get Mistform up again right before I get nailed>
more dmg spells til they all die.
Usually there are still 1-2 left after Mistform runs out again and my E is too low to cast Eruption again so I just duke it out until Mistform recharges. Repeat until they are all dead.
However, I am never able to kill the boss griffon. He just heals too fast for me to kill him and by the time it is just him and me, I just cannot earn E fast enough to dish the dmg out to him. I usually don't even bother aggro'ing him as sometimes he will kill me since I can't kill him.
