But on behave of a lot of loyal GuildWars players I say to Anet: People have been having A LOT of trouble with the pre-order, it's no secert. Many of us were told by our local retailers that they would not be getting the pre-order boxes, hence no head start keys. But that we could put money down for the game still. So we did, ages ago. Giving in to the fact we were out of luck. (which i still concider a slap in the face) Now with this new 'Head Start Event' announced, you have to shake your head. TY but sorry Gail, you tell us to check the web sites of our retailers and that they have keys avalible... with an order of the game. So what happens to those who can't order online, or have put money down at their local gaming shop for the game and still don't have keys. Those that are truely disappionted with the whole ordeal are those that have been playing the longest, and can't seem to get a break. If that first bit was a slap in the face, I think they'd concider this event the backhand that follows afterwards... It should be called "Day of the Fortunate Ones" |
Yes Avecess I agree 100% !! I paid for my CE pre-order at EB about a month ago and up till today I have no pre-order keys!
I find all this very upsetting and most unfair!

And now with the Tengu-event, I participated in all the events before, so this is not going to be an exception. Well, the only problem is that I don't have the kit yet. And that sucks. Big time. So I'm definitely not blaming A.Net, cause I know they can't do anything about it. But they're giving me reminders of what I don't have.
I would love to cancel my order @ GAME.net, but it's not that simple. You have to call them in order to cancel your order, I called them yesterday to ask where my pre-order kit was. They didn't answer, I was put on hold for 10-15 mins. And well, I'm calling internationally (from the Netherlands -> UK) and that's not cheap.
Well this certainly sucks, i pre-ordered the game just like anyone else on these forums, heck i even paid 80$ for it [30$ shipping], but just because i live in a country where it takes 5~ days to ship something to - i'm gonna miss the pre order event. blah :/
*slaps a.net around a bit with a large trout*

Just seems a bit of a kick in the shin to those who didn't pre-order,as if they're rubbing it in our face. |
It's not like they're taking something we already have away from us who didn't pre-order. The supply problems suck though, hopefully everyone that wants to get in can indeed get in.

I think one point is to give more incentive to those who pre-ordered.
It's all about doing business ^_^
I'm a gamer, just like you, I feel the unfairness, but as one who works in the same industry, it's just how things flow here.
Marketing strategy and simply, "at the end of the day, it is still business (and not pleasing the people [which is the government's job])".

unless you're being sarcastic
btw,
Gaile said during the DotT event, all chars (with pre-order cd-key of course), will be able to travel to the Monastery. After that, no more, since the Monastery is the training grounds for newly born Canthan characters.

Oy. now the decision part. Use my head start, either concentrating on uncovering pre-sear. OR hunting for Naga fangs for the tengu mask in the event quests...
