Mich:

You have a fuzz right at the entrance to SF that can be cleared

In perdition rock to the north east there is a small island (kind of looks like a ferengi space ship that can be cleared a bit)

Dang you have a lot more of that eastern edge of kessex peak than I do, I just went through there, must need to go through that swamp bit more carefully

That's all I can see. The whole disabled PvP arenas thing is really unfair

Take a look at my southern Shiverpeaks map here: http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/6219/myshiver3fy.jpg

I believe there's a bit more you can clear in this area. Specifically, there are a couple spots in the Iron Mines mission and another small one in the SW part of Ice Floe that look like they could be uncovered. I've circled spots on your map in red that you'll want to check out: http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/6...erpeaks2qi.jpg

If I see anything more, I'll let you know. Hope this helps!

Hi Mich,

We already chatted in game, and here is my map of D'Alessio showing you the areas there I think you have missed.

I hope this helps.

I didn't have time to read this entire thread so I'm just going to post things that may or may not seem redundant.

I like these new title things, and the fact that I had 99% cleared on exploring when it was introduced makes me even happier. But I've been looking at all the situations and how much % you get for clearing areas and I can safely say that there is more then 100%'s worth to clear. 99% and I have still yet to clear any large amount of The Falls. Not to mention the others who say they've reached 100% without fully clearing certain areas.

Next I'd like to suggest something that they could perhaps put into the game for this sort of thing. For instance, those who want to clear all of the map and get the 100%. Some or a lot of them get very near '99.0%' and so on, but they have no idea as to where they have not cleared to their fullest.

If anything this would be a question as to, could there or should there be a way in the future to determine in which area it is that the map has not been cleaned to its fullest? For example, now that the areas all have their names displayed on them, could there not be a percentage count under the name or something like that to show how much of it has been cleared? That way to help all easier determine where it is that they should explore next.

I'd like to hear what people think.

brobath.......I can see one small spot....in the ice caves mission, when you are running with evinia for the boat there is a small path to the left (by a catapult) if you run left instead of right you can net another .1 possible (you will reveal a bit more of that lake and other shore).....thats the only thing I see....as I just completed that mission (again)

likewise here is my latest map, I am at 98% and still need someone to come with me for the thunderhead keep that knows about our mapping obsession

and I still need to redo sanctum again to get that east area.

and how does one get to the eastern edge of d'alessio? I have only part of that as well and ran the edges as much as possible

I'm also at 80%. I've spent today Tracing around the Crystal Desert and I'm currently in Southern Shiverpeaks headed towards Beacons. Can't say how long it's taken me to fight from Rankor to Beacons.

Edit: I just got the You've been playing for 4 hours message.

i'm at 92.5% and am too lazy to fill in all those blanks.

attached is a zoomed out version of my difference map compared with a 100%.

some minor quips...
- i did THK and wall-hugged the outer border all around the area outside the fort, yet i am still missing some...
- i did Dunes of Despair bonus area via Necrotic Traversal glitch and again, wallhugged the outer border, but alas, still missing some...

does it appear that i still have 7.5% to go? it looks like... not enough... ):

Whew, did nolani and Hells tonigh, as well as a small spot on Perdition rock that I noticed I had missed.

Up to 99.2%!!! For the love of god I don't know how I am going to get that last .8%

I've seen some comparisons and I think there is the tiniest bit at the north of the surmia lake, I know I have the SE corner of tascas' demise to get and one small spot in Kessex peak.

Will surely be posting another pic tomorrow night for help.

I currently have 99.2% discovered. I know I have a little tad in the back of Ring Of Fire, which is possibly .2%, and the very top left of Ice Dome.. can someone please help me with anything else you can catch, thanks... I'm so lost.

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/8017/map5ht.jpg Aside from Ice Dome (which you already mentioned), the only thing jumping out at me is that you have a bit more you can get in the NW part of the Dunes bonus area (that "groove" that runs N/S along the western edge of Dunes should extend a bit more to the N). Maybe you can use one of those nifty difference maps to pinpoint what you're missing. Otherwise I'd suggest posting some zoomed-in pictures so we can take a closer look.

speaking of mapping and of difficulties getting past 91% - me too. But am I the only one who cannot use gwguru.com's map of tyria seince it was updated because it constantly is loading and re-loading?

It used to be easy to do and I found many little areas within missions and towns by comparing - now I'm stuck. Any other decent maps out there?

http://www.prism.gatech.edu/~gte206w/MAPFINAL.jpg is great, i used for my last few .X%'s

the one in guru's gallery is horrible, its way too big (file size), its impossible to play and load that map at the same time.

That map is very good but things like the little tid bit I had to get at sorrows entrance are really really hard to see.. I finished up back of ring of fire, ice dome, sorrows entrance, NW of dunes, and a little side in the scar I had no idea it just pushed a tad more.. at 99.4% =(

Sigh, 99.6%

From what I can see the only place that I have left to walk the walls is both sides of Iron Mines. Don't imagine that will be .4%

Can someone do another comparison map for me (don't have appropriate software to do it) and maybe circle the spots that I need to check (I still have a hard time reading that difference map)
Thanks!

Cherno and vaxmor, I've compared both of your maps to Asrial's one (thanks again, great reference!).

Cherno:

There are only a few places which stand out: Iron Mines (as you mentioned), Deldrimor Bowl and Dunes of Despair bonus area. If uncovering those parts aren't enough for 100%, try these places:
- North-west Mineral Springs
- Snake Dance, south-west corner and speck on the eastern edge
- An edge in north Talus Chute

vaxmor:

My arrows point out the more obvious places:
- Henge of Denravi, inside the town, it's a huuuuge place so make sure to explore there fully
- Deldrimor Bowl, mostly around the edges
- East Lornar's Pass, it looks like you missed the little passage there
- Little bits here and there in Dreadnought's Drift/Snake Dance (around the edges again)
- Northern Ice Dome (I think)
- Thunderhead Keep, the battlefield (where the Mursaat spawns)
- Iron Mines, eastern edge
- Some edges around Grenth's Footprint and Spearhead Peak
- Dunes of Despair bonus area
- West Amnoon (easy one)
- North edge of Salt Flats

Those are the main places you should uncover, just look for the bright parts in the picture for the others.

Hi again Mich,

I had another look at your maps and found a couple more areas for you that I told you about online already. Here are some of my maps for the areas I can see you are missing.

Top edge of Ice Caves of Sorrow
Clouded Mountain at Iron Horse Mines/Borlis Pass
Top edge of Mineral Springs by small ice lake.

Hope this helps.

Two more tiny bits for you Mich:

I have more on the left edge of Nolani than you do.

There is a tiny part on the right edge of Granite Citadel you have missed.

Other than those I am out of ideas.

Good luck!

I've heard of an exploit using NT on Dunes of Despair to get to the bonus area without the timer running... any have a link or a quick writeup of that? Killing me trying to get a pug capable of handling the bonus without me around shouting orders

pfft.... or just read further down the first page:

Thanks, got another .1 from deldrimor bowl.

I don't understand the Dunes bonus piece. I know I have that (see attached)

Going to do Iron Mines now and then try to figure out how to get that chunk right below the entrance to the iron horse mines from Travelers vale. I always thought you got it from inside the Borliss Pass mission, but I have done that twice while spider walking with no luck. I guess I get it from the other side right around the portal.

Cherno: Congrats!

worker: Here you go,

Main differences:
- Borlis Pass
- A small chunk in Deldrimor Bowl (forgot to mark)
- Lornar's Pass (not sure if you've cleared it already, but it's marked anyways)
- Thunderhead Keep, battlefield area (outside the fort)
- Either northern Witman's Folly or southern Ice Caves
- Amnoon, easy one
(nevermind Dunes bonus, you've got it all cleared)

I can see some specks around in Southern Shiverpeaks, a bit in Spearhead Peak, Snake Dance, Frozen Forest and I think Ice Dome. If you've cleared all the main ones above and still haven't reached 100%, try those places. Good luck!

Thanks Luxa, I'm curious though.. There's a mesa west of Henge of Denravi that I cannot uncover from underneath (in tangleroot), or at the end of Aurora Glade mission... but it is uncovered in the 100% maps I've seen, any idea?

Aswell, the spot next to Amnoon Oasis you listed as 'easy' but it's the arena that's not accessable anymore, is this true?

But great thanks overall, I hope this completes it !

Actually all of that should be clear vraxmor, except for one small spot on the north

PM me in game and I can help you out. You also have the small spot right below the portal to Iron Horse Mine that needs cleared (that was my last .1% to get to 100)

And in Amnoon, it looks like you can defog a little bit to the west, around the docks. May be just a .jpg anomaly though.

Your map is missing some sizeable chunks (I guess a good thing), uploading now.

Here

As was said in this thread before, the light non-cloud areas are what are lacking. From this image, you can see you need to work on a lot of areas in all of the Shiverpeaks, the jungle, dunes mission and another desert spot, d'alessio and divinity, surmia, nolani, and a spot in RoF. Maybe more, but this will easily get you on your way from 95%.

Borlis Pass and southwest Dunes, for one. Should be able to pick up at least 0.4-0.5% combined from them.

Borlis: hug the south wall of Iron Horse if you've gone thru Borlis already.
Dunes: the southwest fort bridge is bugged, just walk where it would be and you should get in.
