Besides, we already have Arcane Mimicry and Arcane Thievery... where do you go from there?

actually you cant.
yea this job would have one skill.. everything else would be kind of repeated.
maybe if you mix the napoleon class with this one and get a chameleon kinda thing?

My guess:
Wizard
Inventor (McGuyver-like)
Horsemen

Horsemen
Oryaka Drake
My honest estimate of what will be put in.. or what i should say would be the most powerful class.. would be one of two things...
Hair Ridden Douchbag
or
Bloody Tampon
the douch would shoot out a special chemical instantly killing all male characters and disrupting all female characters.
the bloody tampon would be similar....
(FYI.. this is what we call a dirty sarcastic joke... get over it!)

Village Idiot or Beggar class! They can hang around all day going, "Can someone give me 7k so I can buy Droknar's Armor?"
Oh wait ... we already have that.
nm.
Then they should nerf that profession.

I think we need a melee class that can, maybe, use a one handed weapon in 2 hands and make better use of it, or maybe use two one-handed weapons, deal good damage and have great attack speed, but poor armor?
Or how about a skirmisher kind of class that has decent armor, and the ability to use a shield with a ranged weapon, like a javelin, and they would specialize in speed, range, and the balance between offense and defense.
Or how about just a class that can definitively counter rangers, because god knows there's a class-based counter to every other class, just like how necros counter warriors, monks counter necros, elementalists, and warriors, mesmers and rangers counter everyone, and warriors can't kill anyone on their own.

Warriors can't kill anything on their own? Perhaps you never met my PvP Hammer Warrior. Weakness + Deep Wound + Knockdowns + beserker stance and For Great Justice....
Lots of adreniline, fast attack, you on the ground for most of the fight. Monks are usually down in a few seconds...unless they smite... in which case you avoid them.

If they're protected, using a stance, if you're blinded, your attack speed's hexed, youre adrenline gain's hexed, your move speed's gimped, if they mend the weakness before you get heavy blow off, if you get weakened yourself, then what happens?
Conditions have to be absolutely perfect for a warrior to be effective in PvP. Target needs rend, rigor, you need windbourne or they need to be crippled, etc. What happens if you can't hit jack during the 15 seconds of berserker stance/for great justice, and thusly don't get the adrenaline for your hammer chain? that's 30s recharge for zerker stance, 45 for great justice, not to mention you can't spare any energy because you need it to activate your stances.

there have been alot of smart ideas.. and alot of dumb ones i wish some people would get over the stupid things like superman.. terrorists and things like that... its just plain stupidity... but i think yeah asplode made a good thing with the double weapons basically be able to use 2 one handed weapons with weaker armour and faster attack speed.. it would be a maybe called barbarian or berzerker..lol but thanks for all the awesome ideas on what might be in chapter 2, please if anyone else has any other GOOD and not stupid ideas please share it

I'd be pretty happy if hey would just add a million more skills and add more skins to each charachter. I mean a lot of skins and skills and that would do me. Completely new charachters well I don't know they'd be overlapping different professions already existing maybe?
Akimb0
Im guessing they wil be rubbish and cheaply put together.

Storm Caller- Weather Manipulation.
Main Atribute- Preservierence - Because this class is extreamly Thin Skinned and armored, this atribute basicaly increases Armor.
Secondary Atributes- Self Explanatory
Wind
Rain
Snow
Basicaly it would be controlling weather, and its cast times are all 5 seconds and up, but its damage is SUPERIOUR to all other types. He could do 250 DMG per seconds for 2 seconds or sumthing. The Bad thing is that to control weather, you need to feel inward pain. To achieve this, the pants piece have negative health on them. (Health increasing with location you get it)
So Easy To kill, Easy to interupt, but if u dont killa nd or interupt you it kills ya hugely.

I guess the new professions will probably be sub-professions from the main ones. I mean apart from the dreaded rogue - ARGH - what else could they have? It would be really great if my warrior could wield some Japanese weapons, given that she has a Japanese name!
I'd give up my shield for a naginata any day

I really hope the new classes will be either adding ninjas or assassins like professions.
Its really cool to see a kunoichi sneaking around with a katana and throwing shurikens around!

Iciris
I belive I have heard once b4 that one of them will be Dwarf
Lord Tekster
a whirling dervish sort of character?
would have a desert/middle eastern theme about them.
Dervishes have very weak armour but can wield blades in both hands and most of their attacks are spinning. It would be kind of like a up close aoe guy.
Other than a dervish arenanet really need to bring out a class that can heal others (monks are too needed atm).
The attributes for a dervish would be:
Double wielding (primary)
Evasion
Whirling (Close combat aoe similar to cyclone axe)
Enchanting (tonne of buffs to make those two weapons count )

what about a giant marshmellow. that would be sexy beyond belief

Just a thought but is everyone sure they'll keep the current professions and just add new ones, maybe Anet will scrap all the current professions and replace them with totally new* concepts?
* New to GW ofcourse, I doubt there is any concept in rpg that hasnt been tried yet.

Claymore
Ok instead on more classes, what if we changed the secondary class idea a bit. instead of another profession as a secondary, we choose a specializaton class OF the primary? say warrior/ beserker, or ranger/assasin, something to that effect. Instead of changing profession in the desert, you get to specialize in your primary class, or stick with your secondary.
Oh and I would like to see 2 handed swords before a dual weapon class.

I wouldn't mind seeing a shapeshifting class. Here's some ideas having to do with that:
Harpy
Angel
Centaur
Vampire
Werewolf
Nightmare horse
Siren
Medusa
Minotaur
Of course, alot of these would make great races instead of shapeshifters. But there are alot of things that would make them pretty cool however they were implemented. As you can see, I'm really into the myth and fantasy type stuff. Might not fit into the story very well, but I'm just brainstorming.

i wouldnt mind the idea of a dancer, but im sure some weirdo would start calling gw a porno and theyd never add it in.
so... next best thing: a character class that has only one skill available to it... MENDING. ohhh that would be so sexy....

The only way for dual-wielding to work is, in my opinion, if the weapons used were fairly low damage - that is, DPS shouldn't be waaaay higher than it is for other classes.

I suspect they already know exactly what the class will be so no matter what we speculate I think its safe to say they would only be educated guess's. But "Village Idiot or Beggar class" is a guess from possibly our least educated members.
The idea of using a musical instrument is not a bad idea at all... think about it, what did Gwen use?? a flute... with Gwen supposed to be making a return in some fashion with Chapter 1, I think the new class will be music or song orientated and not beyond the realms of possability at all.
Now you can either take my educated guess and presume that such a class would be an exact duplicate of the Bard in Never Winter Nights and make childish remarks, or you can take it seriously by remembering that to make such a duplicate would have legal problems, and please, make some suggestions about how such a class could be made and named to be unique to Guildwars.

Dual wielding could be viable if made as a elite skill, sort of a conjure a temporary weapon for the off hand and dual wield for 5 seconds and make it a tactics skill. But I would much rather see 2 handed swords before dual weapons.

I'd like to see:
Bard - I want a bard class, I need a bard class, I gotta have a bard class
Shapeshifter sound very cool
Thief or Assassin would be nice too
I also hope they put in more "side" stuff to do like fishing, etc.

Attributes Speed: primary only (to do with attacking fast and backstabbing skills) Stealth: skills which conceal location to monsters and more attacking skills) Dagger Mastery: using dagger skills and naturally increasing damage for them Throwing: lol this is cheesy.. throwing knife skills, alot of fast attacking skills and disrupting, what does everyone think? would it be a good balance for chapter 2? thanks everything Rome. |

my opinion is to NOT make any new classes. I would suggest new skills for the classes that are already in game. It would make the game a bit more interesting and maybe even cause new flavors.
