For me it'd have to be those W/Mo's in arena's (esp the ones with names like "Cant Kill Me" and "I Never Die" )

Game starts...W/Mo rushes my mesmer only to get hit with -10 degen and either blindness or crippling anguish, and then all his self heals are shattered/interrupted. W/Mo dies with an anguished "P***Y Mesmer why don't you stand there and fight"

W/Mo gets rezzed and takes off after me again in a blind rage. Cue phantasm, crippling anguish/blind etc again...sure enough half a second later: "WTF gayass crippling anguish/blind #$%*...come face me one on one and I'll own you P***Y *****" bla bla bla.

Is it just me or are jerks attracted to monks? I play my elementalist and have next to no problems from jerks and I normally play with PUGs. I play with my monk and I play with PUGs for missions and wham! I get called noob for not healing, when they just ran in and I'm about half way across the screen working those legs to get to him.

Jerk Moment of Today: I'm playing Frost Gate with my monk in a PUG. There's another monk with us, but he's only got the res signet for some reason, leaving me the only reusable rezzing person. Now I got this warrior, let's call him " Baka", and he seems to have no sense of strategy. Our whole group dies cuz of this huge mob and I only got ressurection touch or something like that. I rez the monk with no probs cuz he's at the edge of the battle when he died. The monk tells us he's got no rez and I'm just telling them that it's gonna be difficult to rez the rest of the team. Now he's shouting at me to rez the necro. I do, while losing half of my life cuz of the mob. We run for it while the other monk heals us. The other warrior is patiently sitting there for us and I'm trying to figure out who to rez next without getting killed. Now Baka's going " NOOB REZ THEM!" and other sentences with the words " Noob and Rez" in them and occasionaly the f word. I ignore him and rez the ele. Only the warrior left to rez and he's in the middle of the whole mob. Baka thinks that it's now time to start swearing at me and calling me noob again. Totally frustrated with him I tell him " swear at me again and I'm leaving". I learnt this off some of you nice monks here in the forum and to my amazment, he shuts up. I eventually rez the warrior and we finish the mission with no more problems and a few sentences from Baka.

Moral of this Story: Never swear and call the only monk/person who's got rez a noob, he/she might get pissed enough to leave you stranded.

Ryuu: Yes, jerks are attracted to monks. My mesmer never got attitude from other players. My warrior never got attitude. My monk gets attitude all the time. More gratitude too, so I guess it sortof evens out.

Yep thats what I do, I just dont have the nerves to be polite to idiots who dont deserve it anyway, so i annnoy them right back then I just put them on my ignore list for 10 min. Then remove them since they would have given up trying to message me by then.

DISCLAIMER TO CONTINUE OFF TOPIC:
I agree about group talk prior to mission start except with monks. When I group as my necro I always ask if the group wants a blood or death(minion) build and try to find out if anyone has done the mission before so I can decide if I want to stay with the group or not. I don't agree you on monks especially on high levels because there is a known expectation for a monk so I look at it as primarily the monks job to tell the group your a smiter. I do regularly ask monks if they are healers in groups but I've never asked if a monk has rez specifically. I've never run across any monk who didn't bring rez on a mission except for that one jerk. I have to believe this guy purposely didn't tell anyone because he knew he would have a tough time finding a group without carrying rez on him.

OMG, I freakin hate people like that on all online games, you kill them,"You killed me the noob way, face me like a man." After they that I just say,"Most good players would try figure out a way to get past my "noob way" instead of whinning about it." Most of the time after that they shut-up.

Anyway the biggest jerk I met was this Mo/W st Riverside Province. Ok, we started the mission and he just runs into the first mob and dies. After we killed the monk wasn't talking and the rest my team and me thought ok, maybe he's used to soloing and just underestimated the mob, so we ressed him. 30 seconds later, he runs into a other mob and dies. After theat we decided not to res him and he just stays there and doesn't leave the game for the whole mission. I was thinking to myself, what an a-hole, he's just going to sit there and do nothing while we finish the mission. It's times like that where i wish they a system were the team could vote off a player.

heres my least favorite experience in gw.... i was in yaks arena and as an ele i figured that since all my team was dead and the other team was dead 'cept for the ranger i would go one on one since i was at full energy and health.... ironically he was at half. i figured this should be easy even with his anti ele armor well i go against him and i glance up as i notice a skill getting used and to my dismay its poison arrow... i was very angry after that and instead of me going easy on him as i had been i decided to use my heaviest hitting skills... namely phoenix immolate and firebal at this point.....well he uses troll unguent and starts healing s o i keep hitting him as hard as i could... he tries to set some trap since he had started to run and i manage to distract him... well my health is almost down even with aura of restoration healing everytime i cast a spell... so he turns and uses poison arrow again... at which point i use immolate followed by phoenix with a little fireball following it.... well this barely kept me alive but severely weakened him were both at about even health now i have i think 75 health left and my energy is almost depleted so i decide im going to finish him off.... i start casting phoenix... he usues distracting shot..... i try fire ball he uses savage shot.... now im even closer to dead.... so i use immolate at the exact moment he uses determined shot followed by power shot... well i die but i got my spell off first.... he then drops dead .5 seconds later

i then proceed to tell the little cheat good game
he says you were lucky i forgot to put on myt droks armor i f***in pwned you n00b
my reply was then how come it took you 5 and a half minutes to kill me and you died immediately afterwards?

he says you got lucky.... your a f***in n00b and when we meet up again im gonna pwn you with my droks armor and poison arrow.

ironically next time i saw him he was on my team.... and he was first to go down where as i managed to save the match for a win..... who would you guys say is the n00b? course then hes saying how good i am and asking what skills i have because he wanted them for his ele. i laughed and said i thought i was a n00b..... he got mad and threatened to leave so i said go ahead your droks armor and poison arrow didnt help us much anyway.....

I was out someplace with a pug as my Mo/Me. The necro in the group was not only not a battery (i know they dont ALL have to be, i just like batteries) but seemed to have no concept of the energy sponge he was because he was kinda low lvl to be there and required mass healing when he got aggro. I asked him kindly to please let others pull, or if he insisted on aggroing instead of allowing say, the ranger or warrior to do it, that he slow down so that I can have some juice occasionally.

I wont type his answer but i'm sure you can imagine and it contained our favorite profanity and noob and blah blah blah. nearly lost in the garbage in his response was a claim that he didnt need me.

Very well, I said.

Inevitably he dies, I'm the only resser as the rest of the folks in the PUG didnt feel like bringing sig and I'm the only monk. So I told him he should lay there and think about how smart it is to be so rude to the only resser in the group. Of course, this brought a new avalanche of profanity and blah blah blah.

Dead people are quiet, I reminded him. To which he said "you cant make be be quiet".

True enough, but I dont have to hear ya, and I left him to rot and the rest of the party carried on. Of course, the truest sign that he was a noob was that he didnt just ride out the mission and get credit for finishing it, instead he bailed.

The question is, does refusing to res him after his disrespect to me make me a jerk? Keep in mind we did fine without him.

If you're feeling a little guilty when a jerk has yanked yer chain and maybe you over reacted, well you're not alone. Hard to say if it was the right thing to do unless we were all there too.

Personally I'm a lot meaner than you. If he was as big of a jerk as you say then I would have rezzed him, let him die again..... keep repeating until DP = 60%.

Honestly, there is no reason to put another person down in this game and I don't think you should have had to put up with someone's immature comments. It would be nice to be able to ignore it and move on, but sometimes people just wear that last good nerve and they get the brunt of it.

I wouldn't sweat it man, at least you didn't lose it and leave the group, that would have made you a jerk. You stuck with them through the rest of the mission. I know I would appreciate that if I was one of those other guys who just wanted to finish even tho the necro was being a weenie.

Not at all, these types of players need to get what’s coming to them, no point in feeling guilty on that one.

I pretty much had the same deal with and Ele who insisted on being up front with the warriors, he would even go out of his way to get the agro. The first time around I politely asked if Ele’s would stay further back and of course it was a waste of time, during the second group of mobs when I saw he was doing the same thing, right then I made a choice of letting him die and concentrate on healing the rest of the group.

Same ending as everyone, bla bla… noob noob…rez me rez me!!!

Nope sorry busy healing the people who are still alive… dead people come in second.

Sometimes it makes a difference, sometimes it doesn’t.

I HATE people in Ascalon Arena and Yaks Bend Arena who have the best skills in the game, and Droks armor. It has to be the most annoying thing there is. And they think they are so much better than everyone because of it.

Also, I hate the people who are bad winners. I got randomly put against a team who had 1 Healer, and 2 Mesmers and 1 Trap Ranger. We had me (stance tank) a Ranger (with a pet) and two other regular builds. They killed us really quickly (as I expected they would) and as soon as they win I hear:

"haha noobs"
"we win. you suck you noobs"

etc. etc.

People like that should die.

While 2 wrongs don't make a right, I don't think that what you did constuitutes a jerk. Although I'm not the type of person who tells people what to do in a party, I follow and concentrate on my job, if it were me I would have just said this isn't going to work out and drop.

There is a huge group of idiots running around the lower level arenas that have been run to drok's and even to the the ember light camp just so that they can make up for their lack of skill by beating up on people with lesser gear. It's something that people have brought up to AN before. I don't know if they should die, but those people should certainly be banned for a while.

I think you were actualy quite nice about it.

If someone refuses to do as they are meant to do, I stop healing them all together.

This is one of the reasons I have stopped playing with PUG's, I play the game with friends and henchies.
I have given up on PUG's completely.
Its a pity there is no way to determine whether a player is a good one or not before the mission, that would make me try PUG's again, but until then NOT a chance.

The number of times Ive seen players take abuse from a player that does not take advice or something similar!!!!! Its a pity the party leader cant drop players like that in the mission.

it raises an interesting question though... are Monks the natural leaders?

Very often on teamspeak I hear Monks saying, "right im going to let him die.. just once to teach him a lesson for running away" or something to that effect.

this does often work... its so easy to forget and sometimes peeps need a kick up the arse.

I wouldn't call that being a jerk. There's nothing inherently bad about confronting asshats.

Rezzing but not healing him would've been a worse choice for the team, as a disgruntled idiot player will likely try to ruin the mission on purpose.

Rezzing AND healing him would've been to reward his asshattery, and we can't have that.

Well my WN team were doing Iron Mines and when a friend told us to run, a person completely aggroed the first group and killed a few of us. Then after ressing him he gets killed by going the wrong way. We ignore him, and all of a sudden he leaves us in the cold

"I'm going now, you guys are N00bs cya" (thinking that were level 2...

)

He left and I said something spiteful (knowing my real-life condition) and even though we were 15% down in health and mana, we managed to complete the mission with only 7 people.

The biggest laugh of all? Realising that he didn't have any additional Clvls after his leave minutes after

I so want to write a book about the Idiot's Guide to N0085P0771N6...

Another jerk to put in my list...

When I created my first character from the CE I went to ascalon and used the /dance emote. This jerk was wondering how I got it on, and I said something funny that I was leet and s---

he then calls me and the other member a N008 and I mention that he doesn't have the collector's edition. He was well pissed off and we ignored him till he left

I had one recently. I joined "someguy" to do a two man UW run, me as the support monk, him as the 55. After much talk on what skills he wanted me to bring, (yes i was kind enough to ask him what he wanted me to bring), we went in.

Killed the first two groups of aatax's and down drops a ruby for me! Cool i thought and "someguy" congratulated me on my drop, then, BAM, i got disconnected from GW and crash to desktop, one of those "GW detected a problem, please send the info to us etc etc etc" messages.

I Quickly load up GW again and before i could PM him, he PM's me having a go saying he thought i was a @~#* etc etc etc for leaving. So i try to explain to him i didn't leave, i dropped, he replied with;

Someguy "You didn't drop, your still here"
Me "No I dopped and reconnected, i hate leavers"
Someguy "Yeah whatever n00b"
Me "No seriously I dropped, i'll even give you 1k gold"
Someguy is ignoring you

I mean, sorry, that really pi$$ed me off, as it's the first time i've been put on an ignore list!!!

Ive got a couple

One was some random guy in drok's.. I was on the phone and just messing around running in circles, and some guy was like "OMG STOP FCUKING RUNNING IN CIRCLES AROUND ME"

So i kept doing it, cause it was funny, and he FLIPPED OUT.. cussing me out saying this is why he hates free online games.. and then after all that, someone else starting running around him too. He got pissed and left the district.

Another time was doing some quest in the jungle, we all died and there was one guy left who kept running around.. we told him to die real quick so we could rez and finish the quest.. he said "no i don't like doing that, im trying to keep my deaths down" So he proceeded to run around for 10 minutes before everyone left.

Another one was some guy in grotto looking for a runner to war camp.. i told him he could go with henchies and could get there no problem. he said "STAY OUT MY BUSINESS" i told him "uh, okay, but its really easy.." "STFU NOOB I WANT TO GET RUN THERE NOT USE STUPID HENCHIES" so i said "okay, whatever, waste money on it then" the he said "FCUK YOU" and ignored me.

Yeh like us casters with lesser armor and hitting power are just supposed to stand there and let a jarhead pound us into the next world, see to all you W/X out there you need to understand the concept of AL before you start calling people p***ys and runner bi*ch, couse we really dont care how many names you call us we still aint gonna stop running till we drain you hp bar completly dry.

And then say to you Whao you just got pwend by a noob, what does that make you?

Now I agree that he was pretty ridiculous to care if you were running in circles around him, but still, knowing that, this story is actually about you being a jerk. It's like if you keep making faces at a six-year old who doesn't like it, is the kid the jerk or are you the jerk?
