Nope, i only know of people posting threads moaning they've been banned. I myself reported someone (with screenshots) for making sexual suggestions, telling me he'd rape me and kill my boyfriend, and 3 days after the "it'll be kept private, however dealing with matter so its closed" reply, he was online. So I personally think its all rubbish

Yes, they do ban people for bad behavior. Sometimes it's for a day or two, sometimes they'll take away all that person's "property," maybe leaving them with the worst weapon they have. Usually they won't permanently ban someone unless they've got a record as troublemakers.

I won't quote LouAl's large post, but I have often found "biggest jerks" as people who absolutely insisted that they knew the only correct way to do a mission or quest and insisted that everyone do it that way, without first getting agreement from the entire party. Admittedly, for most missions, there are several "right ways" to do them and several "wrong ways". But in LouAl's case with Thirsty River, going after the priest first is actually one of the "wrong ways" to do it. Maybe the guy did it like that before with an over powered team with few squishies. But tactically, it simply doesn't make sense. Its like my earlier post in this thread with some party member suddenly insisting we do the Aurora mission her way, a way that was bound to fail.

What irritates me are people who won't take the time before a mission to decide and agree on a strategy, particularly for those missions like Thunderkeep and Thirsty and Aurora where such a strategy is really important.

I was a jerk today. This was in Random Arenas and I was teamed up with a warrior decked out in 15k armor. He would constantly keep calling out his weapons, even in the middle of battle. (He had a Victo's Axe and a Magmas Shield). To top it off, before the gates would open, he'd ping all over the minimap and doodle on it for no reason. When we would win, he'd start calling the other team noobs. This is what happend when I'd had enough....

-Warrior: I'm Weilding a Victo's Axe and a Magmas Sheild.
-Jerk (me): I dont give a flying f*ck what you're weilding, stop acting like a f*cking retard you f*cking worm.
-Warrior has left the game.

Haha - I have thought about doing this before, but never have. When people say it Over and Over and Over what they are weilding.

I also hate when i am playing my monk and everytime someone gets a hex or condition they say a million times I have whatever on me! I have this on me! I have that on me!

In fact that brings me to another Jerk situation, Someone kept saying that they had something on them and i showed how much energy i had and they said "you stupid motherf---ing monk you dont have enough f---ing energy you suck you stupid monk!

So later i was a jerk when they died and someone in our group whispered me, they begged me to to rez them so i didn't lol We still got the mission just fine though.

Hmmm, something I don't understand here. The trader price is 10 for 100g or 150 for 1500g. And you wanted to buy 150 bones from this guy for 750g? But what could the jerk have gotten for the bones if he sold them to the trader? I never dealt with bones before, but are the traders' buying price less than half of the selling price? Because if not, then the jerk could just as well have sold all his bones to the trader and saved everyone a lot of time and aggravation.

Jerk we were with last night in a tombs raid.

We had gone through once and got to the second level pretty well. We had two uppity monks who insited that we were all noobs and not worthy of their time. So they quit at the beginning of the second level. We proceed to seek noble deaths (suicide) and reform. Of the three eles we had one left immeditately and one other stayed.

While we were reforming the group we got another ele (and I was one also). And he decides to tell us how to build our character (Echo nuke). I politely say to him, that I don't care for the echo build for my style, but everyone has their own way and he can play whatever he likes.

He then goes on to a rant about how I was playing flare and other firetoss spells and I a retard. Continuing converstion went something like this:

Him- "Flare only does 4 dmg"
Me: "Well no it does more like 35-40"
Him-Why bring weak spells?
Him-I can do 91 dmg
Me:So can I, and while your waiting for your meteor/storm and echo to recharge I am blasting away at the escaped grasp who is about to kill you.
Me: "You do understand that I have more than just flare on my skill bar don't you?"
Me:It is all a matter of balance. I just don't like the echo build for my stlye.
Him- Something that didn't make sense
Me:Sorry I have no idea what you just said
Me:Oh I get it, you like to do the Orion victory fireworks
Me:Victory Meteor Shower FTW!
Him- Dude, how old are you? Why don't you learn to speak
Me:30, and I was just making a point.

He continues to argue some more and tell us how are build suck, etc.

Me:Well, it has been nice talking to you. Be sure to tell all your buddies what n00bs we are on the way out....

Kicked him from the team

He then proceeds to message a guildmate in the team and calls her many names, etc.

So we reform the group and head on it.

Right when we get in I get a pm from him:

Him - Flar retard
Me:"Jesus loves you"
Him - Wha?
He proceeds to continually try to berate me, telling me how many level 20 chars he has, etc, etc. Then I've had enough:

Me:"So this is the point when I take a screenshot and get your account banned?"
Him - Banned? For what?
Me:"Harassment"
Him - You're a retard
Me:"You're the one who messaged me"
Him - I'm just trying to teach you something
Me:"You make a horrible instructor"
Him - I win
Him - U win

Didn't hear from him for a minute. So I message him back:
"And I am sure we have both beaten this multiple times with our respective builds, so let's not even get into that"
Him - I said U win

And I didn't hear from him again. We proceed to defeat the bosses and collect our greens.

I was actually having quite a bit of fun with it. Would have continued except that I was in the middle of fighting at the time and didn't want to let the team down.

It is always better to take the high road when dealing with jerks. Don't ever let them make you stoop to their level. Either ignore then or take the high road in your retorts. Don't cuss and swear and call them names or make assumptions about their playing level or skills. It only adds fuel to the fire and ends up with people on ignore lists.

Better to have them waste their slots on ignore than yours

Last I checked, you can sell Bones to the merchant for 3g each, or to the Material Trader for 3g each. Kinda sucks.

Tried to complete a few missions last night. Got a good group together and started the Wild mission. Everything was going great - we had a guy who had done it before, so he knew mission and bonus. We get bonus, when this bonehead charges ahead (Warrior/Mo) and proceeded to kill our bonus. Everyone was telling him "STOP" and "Don't kill them", and he relpied "I can kill them!". So we lost bonus - leader got pissed and left. Bonehead died and left - hs buddy left, so there were 3 of us left. So we had to quit... Similar situtation in next mission, only this time there were people that only wanted bonus and left right after we got it... Frustrating night.... I barely got anything done and wasted a lot of time Am I whining - well maybe....

This reminded me of an incident. I honestly don't know who was the jerk, but it ticked me off. I used to have a guildmate who insisted on PUG's for every quest and mission if guild members were not available. My husband and I were helping her with Elona Reach and she got a few others to join. Since it was her mission, she asked everyone in teamchat who wanted to lead, etc. No one said anything. Since my husband and I had done the mission already, she named me leader.

We entered the mission and failed the first time because of lack of communication and other reasons. We entered the mission again and my guildie again said that I had done this mission before so follow me. One warrior in our group, who had something to do with the failure the first time kept insisting we go another direction to get the second crystal. I kept telling them that we would die if we went that way (same thing happened first mission).

The thing is, she was right and we did get the mission finished (after she laughed when it worked her way), but she said nothing at the start of the mission, didn't say anything about knowing what she was doing and kept arguing with me, the leader of the group, when I wanted to go the other direction. She never said anything during the rest of the mission. If she had said something at anytime that indicated that she knew she was doing, I would have gladly let her be leader. Instead, I came out looking like the jerk.

thats when before you leave the outpost you make sure everyone is here to do the same thing. "mission and bonus" if people say just mission, or just bonus... find another group. Also before you get to the bonus, if anyone knows it, make sure they tell everyone what to to. I don't know how many times I have "Now do not aggro the flame bearers, we need to follow them until they open the gates for us to get to the bonus area" and some idiot never fails to go run off after the flame bearers...

It's really important to ask why people are doing the mission. When you proceed in the game, there will always be some dickheads that only join for a skillcap and then leave. So make sure who you are inviting. If you join a team ask them what the team is for. It happend to me alot of times that I ended up in a bonus team only, just because I wasn't asking where the team was for. It's really important before you enter the mission to ask if anyone knows the bonus and tell everyone, if someone knows the bonus, to listen to that guy and not just rush. I hate ppl that aren't reading the chat screen. Grrr...

It is a waste of time and it is very frustrating, I've learnt to look on the bright side and think 'well i know the mission a little better now, and now i have to go back but i still got a few drops (even if they are worthless) and some gold.

So its not a total lost.

With all these threads I've read here, I wanted to write a brief resume for many ''Types'' of Jerks we can encountered in Guild Wars.

Here comes my little list. Enjoy!

1)The Stronger they are, stupid they are - Show themself superior as yours.... even in death
2)The Broken Keyboard - Sometime, you will encounter these jerk with less A than O. example: STFU U MF OG MFWT (What did he say?)
3)The Bad traders - Love money but they dont like you
4)The n00b phobia - How many time they can call you a noob in a row?
5)The HOLD CAPS - DO YOU SEE MY TEXT?
6)The Little Less Smart - They know all the way how to get in trouble.
7)The Confuse - mostly in PvE than PvP, say something that you dont know what they talking about and then they call you a noob
8)The Scammers - Dont need to talk about them
9)The Kids - Grow up
10)The Thieve - A good item on the ground with your name on it, team dead, respawn and they take it in front of you and quit the party
11)The 7+100= Death - Unlike the #1, Pull lot of monsters and quit, leaving your team behind
12)The Tricker(worst than begger) - trying to have some money until you know they're rich than you.

You'll find more jerks in events and Gaile/Frog meetings. They are known as the "Grievers." Insulting everyone and being very inappropiate. They are very annoying, obviously. I don't get why they behave this way, those people are really pathetic and need to grow up.

Excellent, excellent list. I'd like to add one, in fact:

Smacktalkers - (synonym: smack-tards) after-death taunting, be it verbal or the ever-present "warrior dance" attempting to show that they are somehow dominant over you, and will speak or act to you however they see fit.

I always remember a quote from my grandfather here ... he always said "Rudeness is a small-person's form of power: if you don't let it effect you, you take away that power."

He is still the smartest man I know. Now continue with the Jerk-wars!

Oh so true! In getting ready for a mission, there should be some chat beforehand, if for no other reason but to find out whether the party members are patient enough to go through the mission as team players. But it is also best to agree on bonus/no bonus, and to find out if people are there just for elites. I always try to have some pre-mission chat, and anyone who objects or gives the "gogogogogo" finds themselves kicked if I am leader.

I had a great time with this team leader role last night. I needed to do the Ring of Fire mission with my necro but there were no human monks at all at the mission outpost. One group with 6/8 were calling out for monks, but there weren't any. So I added the two henchy monks and yelled out "who wants mission and isn't afraid to go with henchy monks". Well, I got several interested, and started to invite blind. Funny thing was, the first two invites were necros. Ok, 3 necros for the ROF mission? Well, could give it a go.

Anyway, with the henchies we were now 5. A group of 3 clicked to join and I added them. And then came the fun! One warrior started telling me to kick the henchy monks. Well, I didn't want to wait around for a long time waiting for human monks to arrive (and then having to fight the other parties for them) so I kicked the warrior. Not a word, just hit the kick button and he was gone. Then one of the other newcomers to the party started saying henchy monks were no good and I should also kick a necro. Again I kicked him, without saying a word. My feeling is that people that complain strongly about party compostion or about henchies are people I don't want to have in my party. As far as I am concerned there is no point in discussion; I just kick them.

We wound up with a party of 3 N, 2 R, 1 W and the two henchy monks. We did complete the mission, and it was darn hard to do so because our party admittedly was not the strongest, and only the Warrior was monk as secondary. It didn't help that one of the rangers lagged out or left half way through. And it didn't help that Mehnlo kept dying while trying to res Lina in the lava. But we made it, and that was due to good teamwork and good leadership (thanks to our warrior who was a fine player).

I've lost it on people, in tombs, like when it first opened up with the pve..I would be damned to spend 3 hours in that hole with 7 children who basically forgot any common sense as soon as soon as one gold or green dropped with their name on it. They would literally, stop fighting and run for it, well, naturally, everyone died except for one ele, who was really near death and couldn't restore his self, a banished dreamrider chases him into the back hall, where I had already ran to one people started mass dying. As soon as I seen him and a terror web and a dreamrider right behind him, I turn off right, I'm low on health myself...what does he do? He starts heading for me, turning from his own direction where he would have lost aggro..I yell at him, don't %#@$%$ come near me!

I gain full health and recharge, kill terrorweb, kill dreamrider with his help.. and everyone is like.....wtf are you getting all ticked off for, blah blah.. and it's like.. that was probably the only time I ever wanted to map out on people.. the whole trip into the challenge was like this.. stupid aggros, careless players... and they couldn't understand why I was ticked off...Maybe I was being a jerk, but I think it was pretty reasonable to get upset...

Oh.. and I just remembered a good one.

Went into UW with a full team, and two of the whiniest/bossiest eles I have ever seen.. Anyhow. We were discussing beforehand which skills to bring. They kept getting mouthy and I mean, really mouthy, because I wouldn't bring the elite battery skill they wanted, as I was bringing the elite curse spell I needed. Finally, they settle down and I bring a lesser skill, but still good for their regen. Everyone is like Ready, 1 for ready... etc and I said, I'm not ready, I have to set the rest of my skills now... and omfg.. they go! I have 3 skills in the bar. That is IT.... and I just said

"well.... uhm.. I have 3 skills total in my bar, I said I wasn't ready"

This stupid ele replies "Shut up and quit whining noob"

I got so pissed off.. Not really because she said that, but because I was reduced to her own personal battery source because I didn't have the skills to do much else packed, aside from cast a weak ss, because I hadn't even gotten atb in....However, I wasn't too mad when all the ecto's dropped for me....

The ele was though!! "OMG WTF That is your THIRD ecto!!! I'm sending a bug report to AN. No one should get that much ecto.." WHIIIIIIIIIINE

My favorite is when my random pug group went to fow:
We started fighting and everything went smoothly. After 5-10mins into fow, we notice our only warrior is idle. We wait for him to come back and ask him the reason.
<Drum Roll>
<Drum Roll>
He said his favorite TV Show "Lost" is on. And that he can only play during the *commercials*. He is obviously so absorbed that he can't multi-task. When we asked him why he ever came along at all, all we got was his silence.

This is one of my most obscure experiences ever!

Since I come across these types of idiots all the time, I've decided to start recording them because they're always good for a chuckle:

After a run right when I was about to pay a guy ( since I accidently forgot my money in the storage), my comp went dead. I rebooted to find him yelling : BLAH BLAH BLAH IS A SCAMMER BLAH BLAH BLAH.

I didn't even bothering repaying the guy, thought of some witty comebacks and left.

He was justified in saying that.

[Edit] Seriously though, if you still remember his name, go and pay him. If you were running me and I didn't pay up, you'd think I was scamming you, wouldn't you?

We've all dealt with scammers before, so why should he give you the benefit of the doubt? Personally I'd pay him back double to show I did not intend to scam, and hopefully he'll remember that there are some good people in this world.

Hey, I was apparently a huge jerk yesterday ...

Doing a 5 man Oro farm group, with me as the Minion Master.

We start out the gate, and the bonder is doing his thing, and I get that sinking feeling that i'm lagging, since everyone is just standing there ... so I try to move ... glued to the floor ... i'm sure you guys know the feeling.

Sure enough, internet craps out. I figure "Hey, no biggie" so I went and reset my router and such, made sure everything was working, and then got back on. Party was understanding (our leader is a friend, and we were talking on TS) I apologized and said that I wanted to do something else for a little while to make sure my connection wasn't going to frazz out again. So I go off to PvP for a while, about 30 minutes or so, until they get back from the run I told them to do without me.

Figuring my connection just hiccupped, we go back again. make it all the way through all the dredge, and i've got a small army of fiends/horrors, and we go all the way to kill good 'ol Tanzit ... boom, green razorstone drop for our monk. Cool! I start to type "Congrats!" and nothing comes up ... oh god, not now ... i'm yelling to my friend on TeamSpeak "TELL EVERYONE TO RUN LIKE CRAZY!" but too late ...

Make a long story short, I lagged out, my minions went nuts on everyone, and they barely survived. As soon as I had connectivity again, I apologized to everyone.

I checked with my ISP, here's the phone call:

Me: "Any problems with DSL in my area?"
rep: "Ahh, yes we're doing some server migration ... your connection might
flicker a bit for the next ***7*** hours or so"
me: "Who do you have doing your migration? Leeroy Jenkins?"
rep: "I beg your pardon? Who?"
me: "Nevermind ... thanks"

Oh Noes! The 'burbs!

Leeroy Jenkins! Hahaha!

My latest story: Guild announcement that on friday, everyone who can is to log on at a particular time and we will gvg as much as possible to get our rank up. Ok, cool, I think. So I skip dinner, skip my coveted Sci-Fi Friday, and time with my husband to do this because I want to practice gvg. Well, I log on, only to be told that I have to wait around until more people from my "section" of the guild log on so I can gvg with them. I'm not invited to gvg with the other two "sections" of the guild. No explanation of why or what the heck is going on, so I said to heck with this and logged off.

Antisocial Misfit

I play late when some places are deserted and rely on henchies 90% of the time, sparing me from griefers and morons for the most part.

I've had a few jerks hit on me in town. Most of my chars are female because I don't like the look of some of the males-hunchbacks, "He-Man" clones, and so on-and, frankly, if I'm gonna spend a few hundred hours looking at someone's backside I might as well enjoy the view.

This one jerk started wispering me and asking if I was a freaky little girl just like my character. I wispered back "no" and he asked me if I was a guy, because he didn't like "false advertising". Not wanting to set this nutjob off, I just replied "I don't like sexual harassment" and he just said sorry and went away, thank God.

ME being jerk:
In town :
Some Guy: U want to join guild?
Me: no thanks
a minute later
Guy: U lvl 20 no guild? join mine
Me: no thanks-I'm a loner
2 minutes later
Guy: join my guild become officer
Me: no ty bye
2 mins later
Guy2: hi you wanna join my guild?
Me: NO I DON'T wanna join your guild leave me alone
Guy2: ummm...ok sorry
About this time I realized they were 2 different people and apologized to Guy2, but I'm sure he thought I was a jerk.

Had one today... just now, actually two of the people in the small, 4 man group were bad.

Anyhow.. Were at Ruins of Surmia, A pretty easy mission, but I'm on a low level mesmer, and really just want to get through it, so I respond to a "running mission and bonus for 150b. 3/4!" I join, not even thinking about it, after all, 150 is cheeeep and I'm like "Sweet, time saver!!"

Wrong.

Me and this other fellow, who was also paying for the run, get into the game and it's two people in the same guild, a warrior and a ele. It goes like this..
Mission loads and ele says:

Ele: Pay right after bonus.
Us: ok np.

Walk a few steps in..

Ele: Were going to have to fight.. or rurik dies, you have to fight too.
Us: Uhm.... alright.. so much for a run.

Me and the ranger start whispering back and forth, Who is paying for a fight.. this is lame...

So we continue to go along, fighting stuff, and whatnot.. and as soon as we open the first gate, to let out some of ruriks buddies, warrior stops

Warrior: Pay here.

Us: Wtf? We havent even done the bonus.. and quite frankly, this isnt a run either...

This argue continues.. and he says

Warrior: Either you guys pay, or we leave.

Us: This is a scam, was supposed to be a run and you guys aren't even fighting, let alone running.

Ele: We will turn your names in, you have to pay, etc etc.

Warrior: Yah, you have to pay because were afraid you guys might split after bonus

Which is crap...complete crap

I just continued fighting, take note that these two supposed "runners" are doing /dance emotes, nothing else at this point. I said if we were looking to bail out on what was supposed to be a RUN, we would have right after you guys both told us we had to fight the run, if anyone is SCAMMING, its YOU.

Basically, we did the bonus, we did the mission, the warrior and the ele, do nothing, the ele might have fired off a few flares, orion victory showers, etc.. now the warrior and the ele start calling the ranger a noob, and the warrior starts calling me names in whisper, you know, the nasty ones.. Telling me im a little P... and a B.. and C and to stfu.. etc

Because I promised to pay after bonus, i did, gave them the 150 gold and so did the ranger, but im telling you, this was some kind of scam. Not only did the ranger and I do all the work, we paid those deadbeats to tag along.... wonder if I should turn the screenshots of his disgusting verbal harrassement in..The ranger basically tells them to "F off" For calling him a stupid child noob, over and over, and the warrior actually says... "if you swear again, im leaving" and the ele says "Yah, me too" ...Did the warrior just forget all the names he was calling me in tells? God..

What is really funny is when the ranger asked the ele why the heck she wasnt even fighting, she stands there, doing her stupid dance and shes like "im not fighting because youre a jerk"... what a lame ass..

Me: Uh...what's that have to do w/ my bow?
Him: Mine's better
