I just found out the other day that I'm a big jerk! I have a way of dealing with beggers in Droknar's Forge that I find rather amusing. When I see begger spam, I post "FREE MONEY!!! See Ipillu Whupwup in Whitman's Folly!" (more fun that just saying "go kill stuff.") Think it was Saturday that I got called a jerk for doing it.
Along similar lines, today I was there and saw someone spamming for a free Power Leveler. I posted "FREE POWER LEVELER!!! - See Little Thom [Brawler henchman]."

I usually just say when i see a beggar i say ill give you some money, I pop up 100k and about 60 ecto (when i used to hav ea lot of ecto) and then id say hold on have to add something. at this point the beggar is proclaiming his love for me all of a sudden i change it to 1k and 60 mursaat tokens. (my guild has lots of people in kryta and all i ask them for is the tokens) so now the begger being overanxious accepts and has the nerve to say you scammed me gotta love it

Me: Umm if i put it on everyone i'll have -7 energy regen which i will surely run out of energy

Had a good one on the preview weekend, we were doing one of those 12v12 battles where you enter as a team of 4 and get put with 2 other teams from your faction, so as you can imagine it's all kinda random and it's a preview weekend full of people trying the new professions (lots of ritualists and assasins) so the last thing you expect as you enter this is a well organised team, your just entering for a bit of fun ( i think it's a great idea btw to help in experienced players get into pvp, it takes away the elitism of pvp) anyway i digress........

we enter a team of 12, i'm a ritualist/ranger only went ranger to cap a crab =] and it becomes obvious with only one monk in our team we aren't going to do so well but hey it's only a bit of fun on a preview weekend.

We start and are going at it the battle is close but the opposing team always seems to have the edge, one of our team leaves/disconnects cue the jerk.

Jerk:- LEARN TO PLAY YOU NOOBS!!!!!!

How do you know he was gay? Did he say that he was? If you're suggesting that he was gay for not lighting the beacon then you are wrong. He was a jerk. Being gay has nothing to do with being a jerk.

I just had that experience from a necro who I went farming with. And I asked if he could stop spaming the map, he did it even more. And since we did not went so far into the farming route, I left the group.

No, I did not feel bad leaving the group, when the working enveriment I was involved was so clearly immature, and the manner of his respond was un plesent in all degrees.

From my part, I did not suggeste any hostile intent or using any bad words, none have I been un-polite to anyone. I simply ask if he could stop spaming the map.

After I left, this nerco who you may find in war camp farming oro, Pmed me with none stoping message of:

<and repeat for 30 seconds of the above>

But I am quite proud that I did not produce one respond to him, none did I ingore him by putting him on the ingore list, I just let him spam and let him get on with it, which I think its the best way to go.

Some jerk joined my HA pug (then still Tombs) and then ran out the portal to Dragon's Lair. Since half the team were PvP characters we ended up randomly teleported across various districts. Took us 5' to get back together, then the jerk does it again! At this point I'm too angry to think straight so I start shouting abuse over local chat. This wasn't a good idea as it presumably gave more people the idea that winding my up would be fun, as they invite themselves into the group (wasn't the leader, and couldn't in any case remember the names of everyone in it so we assumed anyone who invited themselves were previously with us) and they run back out to Dragon's Lair again.

Yes, I lose my temper easily, and I know it makes me a good target for baiting. Still, I was angry enough to sit down and write a detailed email to Anet telling them all about this and 2 weeks later the patch that stopped this kind of griefing from happening.

Omg where do I begin. The MMO genre is populated, by a good portion, all by jerks... lets see...

Rude people who -know- that their way is the best, in PvE, and diss the living hell out of anyone who tries to override them. -knowing- isnt always equivalent to -being-.

was so glad when he got kicked

Strange that nobody mentioned me yet HAHA i always love to haras newbies with a verry special skills/spell (cant remember the name atm sorry)

But it summons a uncontrollable horror that tottaly WTFPWNS everything on its path so sadly it makes atleast 100 victims a day

I'm sorry to tell you it actually does..Monk energy management skills are pretty poor, so they have to look to their secondary profession- namely the Mesmer's Inspiration line.

People who use "gay" as a synonym for "lame" are some of the biggest and most pathetic jerks of all.

Was in a bad FoW group. Two had left but we were still going. I was playing my mesmer and had no rez on me. The monk goes down right after a shard drops for the monk. I ask, "Are you going to rez the monk?"

Silence.

I ask again. "rez the monk?"

They just stood there over the shard hovering like vultures.

I called them on it: " Are you a****les going to stand there and wait to steal it?" Silence.

I couldn't rez the monk, but one of the dragons was close by along with some ether breakers. I aggroed them and ran them back and died.

I whispered the monk, they all died.

Sweetness. Rage against the jerks.

I was forming a FoW party as always i made it the way i think a party should work great so it was consisting out of :

2 Warriors (including me)
2 Monks
1 Mesmer
1 Necro (our jerk)
2 Eles

So we started out as i was feeling generous i payed the fee once we got started we wiped every single mob with the greatest ease so everyone was complimenting eachother (i made sure the mesmer got enough compliments ^^) then we reached the warzone part were you get to fight the undead the necro starts shouting in caps

Necro: STOOOOP
Me: Whats wrong mate?
Other team members wonder whats wrong so we go to him.
Necro: ALL SIT NOW!!!
Me: Huh why?
Necro: DO IT!
Lol we sat down
Necro: Hahaha you noobs listened to me im your master
Me: -.- necro humor as dead as your minions...
We proceeded a bit further when we reached the spot where the 2 trapping archers are the necro starts running forward towards the 2 shadow armies, while we were fighting I immidiatly recognized this behaviour from reading this thread.
Me : RETREAT!!!!
Team runs of like i asked and the necro dies in a horrible shouting off noob and other profane deathcries. We killed the mobs on his body and he was crieng for reezz, instead we had one guy ninja his drops 1 shard and then all danced and sat on him.
Me: Hey whats wrong im sitting now arent i?
Necro: Get off me please i will act nice now.
Monk whispers me i have vengeance
Me: ok monjk res him
Necro: starts shoutting give me my stuff and muhahaha you fell for it.
Me: 3..2...1
Necro: NIAAAAAAAAAA ok ok lol il act nice now promise
Reres with rebirth
Me : will you act nice now since you kicked ass when you didnt act like this.
Necro: ok i will can i have my stuff
We gave him his stuff expecting him to leave, but he stayed and we cleared the rest of fow with ease

Ring of Fire Mission:
2W,2Mo,2E,Me, N ( me )

One W goes away almost at the beginning , and the other almost as soon as he gets his elite.

So we decide to continue. Our Me "Tanks" (nicest Tank i've ever seen ) and dies many times. No complains , just good humor and the sense that we are going to get it, or if not, it doesn't matter that much and we'll try again.

We do the mission

The other 2 don't deserve to be in my ignore list.

Great. Now go buy Guild Wars and play it.

I only had about an hour to play, so I decided to go farming the scarab queen with my Necro/Monk.

I play as a blood spike necro with Healing Breeze along for 'party member assistance'. I also love to bring along Well of Power as my elite, usually parties I join quickly learn the value of a pumped power well. (With Blood pumped to 18, it has +7 health and +2 energy regen.)

I like using it while queen farming because those nasty scarabs create profane wells off the corpses, so I like to beat them to the punch. (Using Bloodstained boots and 20% blood recharge, 20% blood half-cast staff, I can put up a Power Well very quickly!)

So we go off in a group of 4 to farm the queen....
One member is a minion master necro, so we agreed to share corpses, letting him have the majority for minions. So for each group we fight on the way to the queen, I put up 1 power well and let him have the rest of the corspes. All goes OK so far, except that I notice that the MM can't seem to maintain more than 2 or 3 minions at a time. (I don't think he had any minion healing capability.) He starts complaining that I'm taking all the corpses. I also notice that he leaves the bodies on the ground to make minions AFTER the fight is over.

So we get to the queen, and he only has 2 minions. I tell the group to go grab the nearby griffon bosses and drag them into the scarab nest. The team proceeds to kill all the grffons.... Then the MM makes 2 more minions, but the previous ones are dead, so STILL only two minions. (The griffons would have been much better distraction for the scarabs at this point!) MM makes a few more stabs that I'm using all the corpses. (Still just using 1 per group of enemies!)

I convince the group to get the OTHER griffon boss and drag him into the nest. The warriors does this and chaos ensues. Much death going on, many bodies on the ground.... Scarabs start making lots of Profane wells. I counter with a few power wells as the fight gets out of control. The MM starts cussing at me to stop casting f...ing power wells. I say that I only have a few and there are plenty of bodies to go around.

We save our butts and end up killing the queen. The green staff doesn't drop, but I get a gold bow. (Ended up nothing real special.) MM gets pissed... launches into a tirade about can't make minions with Captain Power Well around!

Were stand around for a few seconds recharging, while the scarabs make a few more Profane wells. The MM curses some more and says "See what I mean!!! What a f....er!!!". And immediately quits.

It suddenly comes to my realization.....he thought that the Profane wells were MINE!

I guess he was a bad MM, an idiot, and a jerk.... all rolled into one!

Well of profane makes a sound while activate. He doesn't know that of course.

Well, there was this one jerk/scammer when I went 2 man farming in UW me being SS/SV and the other was 55monk...

Well, we played for a while but when we were killing the last aatxes before the grasping darknesses from the quest, I noticed that something was wrong with the monk. I noticed that he used smiting spells and didn't have spellbreaker...So I knew he was a scammer who tried to get me kill the aatxes and then run past the last group of aatxes and get to farm the smites. Well I noticed this and didnt say a word. But after we killed the darknesses, we were going for the smites. There was only one group of aatxes and he started to make signals to the minimap to stay back. Well, I didnt obey them because I knew that he was trying to run past the aatxes and leave me to the other side. So I waited a bit and then he started to run, I followed right behind him and I didnt get killed because all the aggro was on him. He tried to get the aatxes to kill me, but I managed to survive. We both made it to the smites and he was pissed off that I was with him. So he started to farm the smites and I helped with the SS with the hope of ecto drop. He tried several times to get away from me, but I kept following. After a while, an ecto dropped and it was for me. I picked it up and he started saying "give 3k because its 50/50". I said im not giving anything to him because he tried to scam me. He was pissed off and continued farming the smites. Then I noticed that there was a nightmare nearby. I lured it to him, and he didnt notice anything. So his enchantments got shattered and he died in a second. Then I said "bye scammer" and left with my ecto.

I think the biggest jerk I've ever seen was a guy trying to get a free ride through a mission. He fought with us until the first cutscene (I think it was the mission where you have to go to the fountain and cleanse yourself then get the eye). After that he was afk and we sat around for about 10 minutes waiting for this guy to come back. So after about that 10 minutes, I said, "screw this I'm not giving this guy a free ride". Now I would have stayed, but right after I said that this guy (the inactive) starts whispering me. He's telling me how big of a noob I am if I leave, and that he was doing homework so his mom wouldn't be mad at him. So I switched to party chat, and said "Why are you even on GW if you're supposed to be doing homework?" The idiot responded in party chat, at which point everyone knew that he was sitting there for the last 10 minutes just watching us wait for him. This kinda made everyone mad and we left and reformed :S I had to put him on ignore for a day to keep from getting the endless rants.

One thing I do when I see somebody spamming an obnoxious sale offer with a false claim is, when I can, offer the same thing at a lower price.

"WTS Galigord's Rod and Artifact, best Earth weapons, only 8K each or 15K for both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if it's something I generally wouldn't offer, I do it if I can.

The one that got me the most LOLs from the public chat was when I responded to something like:

"Running to Sardelac, only 250 gold, invite self!!!!" with
"Running to Sardelac, free, invite self"

I got into a rank "5/6" ranger spike today, and after waiting for 2 hours for this group to form and get into Ventrillo, they elected me the caller becuase everyone else either had too squeaky of voices for anyone to hear them, or they were too afraid to let other people hear them.

The group leader just grabbed people, looking for specific builds, not discussing anything with them.

Well, we got into the thing, went and lined up just outside the timer start range. The group leader started saying "omg call" as we waited for the bonder to bond everyone. I asked "is the bonder done?" No response. I asked "Everyone ready?" No response. "3. 2. 1. Go." Everyone moves out and starts wanding the monk I called. I'm expecting them to move up and get their Vamp bows out, but they continue to wand and longbow the monk.

The leader goes 'omg caller is nub ogfmfmgmff' and all that. Then he rage quits. I asked 'Why don't you lead your own group? If you're the leader, and you think you can call better just do it. Don't just wand the monks'

He says 'OMG!! how am i supposed to wand monks when you not call??" and puts me on ignore. Nice >.>

On top of all of this though, I had specifically stated that I rarely ever call spikes, but they pretty much begged me to do it :/

Ok, I just went through the D'Lessio Seaboard mission and had probably the most idiotic monk I've ever played with. It was hard getting a group because most of the people in the town were level 20 folks looking for high end quests. Anyway, I finally got into a group:

Now, the level 8 monk got creamed early on...gee what a surprise. The kicker is that the level 20 monk only had Vengeance on him as a rez. So he had to keep rezing the other monk every time he died. About 2/3 through mission the lvl20 monk died so I used up my rez signet on him. The E/R then died, but instead of rezing lvl8 monk so the lvl8 monk could rez the E/R using Restor Life the lvl20 monk kept using Vengeance on E/R. After doing this over and over and over I just zipped to the end of the mission and skipped the bonus.

I understand the Vengeance may be ok to use in PvP (from what I've read), but I don't think it has much of a place in PvE. Now what kind of stupid idiot reaches level 20 and still has no concept of healing, rezing or how to play the game whatsoever. I don't know if he was just dumb or if he was just screwing with us. Either way, the guy was really grating on my nerves after a while.

I hear ya NJ. That happend once to me in Gates of Kryta with the Vengance skill. Only I think it was a R/Mo that was using it. Then last week a Monk used Unyeilding Faith on me which was stupid since we were doing the end part of Ice Caves. Last night we had a Monk in our Iron Mines group say he forgot to put on Rebirth. First incident was when I was using Dust and the last 2 with my Ele. If you are gonna use Monk as Prime or Second then use it wisely and smartly.

Why would any monk use rebirth? You end up resurecting, and with no energy left. What does that do to a healer?

Uh so the Monk stays alive while ressing the team. Ever notice how Monks fast rebirth people? They use a nifty trick where they switch their items around. Also Rebirth is better for a Monk because Monks will die trying to res anyone too close to the enemy groups.

Not really bad jerkiness, probably just inconsiderateness, but.......just how many teams have you been in doing the Dragons Lair mission where despite it clearly being stated that nobody steps through a portal until everyone has a chance to capture....some idiot does

I've always waited for people to get a chance to cap before entering portal, but I know what you talking about. I think of the 3-4 times I've done the mission some idiot/jerk passes throught the portal early about 50% of the time. It is especially frustrating if your a warrior trying to cap because I think that is the last facet before facing Glint.
