The Biggest Jerk You Ever Encountered in GW (no posting names)

just got my new biggest jerk. I'm actually suprised this person managed to get this far.

was doing Gates of Krita, and im hurrying through all the missions, so i accept the first invite i get, as I like PuGs since i cant make any in game friends (awwwww)

Anyway it was a really annoying sugar-rushed R/Mo who kept repeating everything several times, from "I know where Oink is" x 5, to "No the bonus isn't in water its the pig"

Of course at this oint alarm bells are going. then i see in full chat this R/Mo, who was i think lvl 11 "LFP Mission and bonus, Ranger with Poison Arrow!!!"


Oh god the doom, so many skeletons, so little use for poison arrows, but still i stayed in the pug, since the rest of the team seemed decent.

We enter mission, first few seconds N/Me 15 drops out. Bummer but we go on. We get up to the bridge after a couple of "wtf my poison arrow didnt work" So i started teasing by saying I was applying Poison, which i didnt take, but do have, no clue what I was using.

Anyway, at the bridge, really really bad spawn, maybe 20 enemies to the elft, ive not seen so many there before, only 2 accross tho, i begin to move forward, drawing lines to indicate that only an idiot would agro that group with our levels. (at this point i was only one above 12)

Guess what R/Mo runs in and agros the group., as im killing the ones on other side of the bridge, yup, our jerk. She died, Monk died, other R/Mo died, me and E/Mo left.

Im stuck on one side of bridge and he on other, after a while of letting the immortal Oink try his ahnd at destorying them we tried to res. Being a clever warrior, I had the signet, and always check im using it on sum1 with res. before i could get a target, the E/Mo died resing. But mvoed them off the monk.

cue our R/Mo going quickly quickly res me, res me.

ME: "you got res"
R/Mo: "no"
Me: "...., then i'll take the monk"
R/Mo: "no me, i have poison arrow and we can run to cut scene"

straining my memory i wasnt 100% sure if there was a cut scene in town, so didnt wanna risk it. begin using sig, but enemy come back, so i move away.

R/mo "why not res me"
Me: "you dont have res.... why dont you have res"
consider that apart from me (W/R) and monk primary the entire team was monk secondary.
R/Mo "Dont need it" (<< Had a level 7 Black Bear they were so proud of)
Me: "Why not"
R/Mo "monks job"

so i burst into a huge explanation of why everyon needs to carry res, especially monk secondaries, and that i was inteligent enough to bring the sig, while she decided to go for poison arrows and charm animal.

I then asked the monk if he had res, just to dbl check now i knew one didnt, and he did, but she asked me why iwas checking he had res cos hes a monk and all monks should have res, according to her....

So anyway, with no sign of the enemy moving from the corpses i was resigning myself to run and hope for a cutscene and she left after telling me to stop being so mean or she'd leave.

Anywway, run failed, so im looking for a good team in Gates now, lol. I seriously dont think ive ever ever had such a bad PUG, ive lost faith, lol

I always expect pugs to be bad, and expect to get killed. That way I can never get wrong. When doing mission in pug, simply tell yourself that you are in it for the money and not for a good gaming experience. It is beginning to work for me I do these mission at least ten times each day. I couldn't care less if it failed or not. My Anti Jerk behaviour

I haven't had a PUG without someone else I know in it for 6 months now, and if its a mission I'll use hench + someone I know

I don't expect anything from PUG's. I've had more good PUGs than bad ones TBH, but I'm never caught off guard by bad ones. I just shrug my shoulders and move on.

This guy just was not a jerk, but quite cueless.
I stood around in ToA, and someone advertised :"Looking for Monk and Nekro, selfinvite" so I asked him :"For what exactly?"
"what????"
"Well, UW, Fissure, Galrath, what?"
He left right after my last sentence... I think he was rather confused.

Nothing will beat the time I was in a PUG outside Ascalon and the leader all of a sudden was like "Uhhh... Player X... you're a W/Mo right?"

Player X: Yea
PUG Leader: So why are you using a longbow?

Guy was using a really fancy gold longbow that required something like 9 Marksmanship

He also kept running away from the party aggro'ing everything until I finally just quit following him to heal him and he died somewhere on the other side of the zone.

I lost faith in PUGs a while back. Really, really tried to group since it *is* a multiplayer game, but after spending something like 3 hours one morning trying to complete a mission with various PUGs that I knew I could do in half an hour with henchies, I gave up. I hench everything now. I know Anet would like us all to group, but unfortunately, they can't perform updates on the intelligence of human players.

If only they could...how sweet things would be lol

I had some of my best times in them... especially when I hit the desert as a level 9 mesmer.

he was close to getting one of them but switched targets. I never realised he was invincible before, so im thinking nxt time i go there with a Mo i just beef up oink

Haven't had too much time to encounter jerks (noobish)
But as soon as I exited pre-searing and entered ascalon city I noticed that the !all channel was used exclusively for trade channel chat, so I said, politely: "Wouldn't the trade channel be better for that kind of thing [insert jerks name here]?".
But then he goes and says stuf like "stfu noob" and "RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO you asshole" and "i'll post whatever I want wherever I want RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOer"..
*sigh*

I have mine.
For months now I have gone to Surmia and have been giving people fiery dragon swords, runes, gold, mods, etc. My only requirement was that they were the first to open a trade window as the low level class I am giving stuff away for.
Tonight I got called an a-hole because I would not give my items to someone who had their secondary class what I was giving stuff
away to.
How can you get called names for giving stuff away? This is why there are more jerks in the game than good guys.

Well, I've been meaning to write my jerk story for a while now but haven't had the time... I met my first guild wars JERK last week. I was playing my ele and was trying THK for the 3rd time and got into what looked like a great group... enough healers and warriors. Well, we decided before hand what we were gonna do when we got to the keep and had to defend the king so we started fighting our way there and one of the warriors says "BRB" so were all like.. ok.. maybe he had to use the bathroom. So we wait a bit... he's not back yet. so we decide to fight the rest of the way there and he can catch up. By the time we get there we decide he must have been a moocher and isn't gonna help coz there has been no sign of him at all.So anyway... to make a long story short... with much disgust we ended up losing and being transported back to town and just a few seconds after we got back you will never guess who started running around town! Jerk Warrior Guy! So... i sent him a message asking why the heck he ditched us like that and told him it was rude to mooch and all... so he starts calling me a noob and our dialogue was somehitng like this.
Jerk: At least I've finished the game!
Me: Who says I haven't? the fact that I'm doing this mission? dude, You are doing it too!
Jerk: (insert various insults here) shut up I could OWN you in 1 on 1! (stand behind my ele and does his warrior dance)
Me:whatever man (moves away from him)
Jerk: I don't even need this mission
Me:then why are you doing it?
Jerk: (no answer)
Jerk: (finds my ele and proceeds to dance)
Me: (moves away again)
Jerk: (follows and proceeds to dance)
Me: (moves away again)

Finally I warped to another district but not before Jerk warrior types "I love you"!
My guildies and I had a good laugh! Some people in this game are just downright DUMB!

how about being in granite citadel with a guildy and someone is asking for help to do defend dronkar.
we decide to help since we have nothing to do and even get more guildy help and finish the quest. as soon as its finished and the titan lord is dead this guy who asked for help decides to start abusing us telling us how crap we are and he's so much better and that we are kids and 'noobs'.
when asked how we are crap after helping him do defend droknar on the first try he came out with the same old 'you kids are so immature, are you 10, you should get to bed' rubbish.
granted i did die a 3 or 4 times but this was due to holding position so the others could get away safely if we got overpowered (only an ele but i thought better for me to hold and die than all run and lure them with the group - we had no tank just monk,ele,rest rangers) and a quick res and we were off again.
maybe i expected too much thinking we might get 'thanks'

This character named Zellac Crom and his level 20 pig named Chuck Norris are both big jerks!

This is from a little while back... I had nothing to do, so I was dancing my ele armorless in Beacon's Perch. Some random bun whispers me, "hey sexi how bout 5 plat for 30 mins of ur coochie". Needless to say, I'm a little nonplussed, so I simply ignore his whispers. Eventually after about 20 minutes of him trying to dance at me [typical male Wammo] and me moving away, I get a spammed chat full of "dirty slut." He must've done that for a good 5 minutes. I had a screenshot somewhere, but I appear to have misplaced it.

Well after that bomb shell Id just like to say the biggest jerk I met was the other day! I saw him spamming in Lions arch about ELF ------ ------ was a big scammer over and over again. 25 mins late and Im in droks and there he is spamming away. Now the guild I am in has the little tag of ELF so I wondered what he was shouting about (following a whisp from someone saying 'your in elf whats he on about'. Anyway I asked him what was up a few times until he called me a noob then a few other obscenities. Well having just finished reading the thread No more noob I just called him a sock monkey rapist and hoped he had fun playing the game. Alls well that ends well

Now now... there IS a thread that talks about the great people too. I guess this just a vent for some and a way for some of us to get laughs at rude players idiocities!

Here's one after a long observation in the place I hang out:

For the past couple of weeks or months, this person (jerk) comes into this town and harass a well-known respected guild that helps out the community. Almost everyday he goes there to be a pest to each member of the guild and being disrespectful. His reasons for pesturing this guild because they help out the community and they show respect and appreciation to the employees of Anet.
That is why he has a problem with them. Also, to be more of an annoyance to the guild, he made a one-man guild of his own that has the same tag and cape design as the guild he is bothering.

He even claimed that the guild were a bunch of losers for just hanging in this town and supposely "a**kissing" Anet. When in actuality, they go there to socialize and show appreciation whenever an employee of Anet drops by. Truth is, he's the loser (and jerk obviously) for logging on everyday to pesture the guild just because they help the community and he thinks it's fun to be an annoyance to them.

I think most of the people in this town has him on ignore and so do I, first person to be on my ignore list. If he's so bothered by what they do, then he should just leave them alone, go away and never interact with them.

That makes me sick. I have 2 female characters and yes it bothers me alot when some male character comes up and well becomes a pig. I may be a guy but I will never do this male chauvinistic crap that most of my kind do. I have learned it is rude and immature. The other night I was trying to do Hell's with my Ele and some jerkoff was harassing a pair of AFK albiet sitting female characters in the outpost. It was sick and disgusting.

Is there a limit to the number of people you can ignore? A lot of the types of people you guys are talking about who are being irritating or obscene I just put on Ignore right away. I don't say anything to them, I don't respond, I just hit N, copy their name in, and it's done.

Combine that with the fact that I ignore anybody who repeatedly uses non-trade channels for buy/sell requests (except in de-facto trade areas like LA/1, Drok's/1, and AC/1), and I have quite a list going.

Anyway, I haven't actually contributed my biggest jerk, but it has to be this guy:

I joined a Frost Gate team with the understanding that we were doing both mission + bonus. Myself and at least two others in the team all made it a point to say to everyone "don't trigger the bonus until we clear the path ahead".

So we get to the Dryder cave, I remind everyone again not to talk to the dwarf inside, and clear it, and I see this one necro running toward the dwarf. I desperately type out a "DON'T TALK TO THAT DWARF!" and start drawing big Xs across that location on the map. A few other people are freaking out too, but he doesn't listen.

Right after, half the team just quits because we're a lower level group. Me, another warrior, and the necro decide to try and go ahead. He runs into the damn blast pit and dies, the warrior aggros a bunch of guys and dies, and I managed to draw most of them into the blast pit, kill them, and I barely live.

I rez the warrior who is like F--- it and refuses to rez the necro who screwed us up.

Guy maps out and starts cussing ME out because he pissed everyone else off. Well, we die in the mission right after and when I get back this guy is STILL cussing me out until I ignore him.

All that said, I haven't had that much trouble with griefers in GW, save the handful of idiots who are always spamming a chat channel somewhere with stupidity.

This thread is not about revenge and neither is this site. Just put the jerk on ignore if you see him and go about your game.

I really hate those typs who blindinvite you, ask if you are what they look for, and if you don't they kick you without a word . Now that's bad manners, can't be bothered to ask in chat for someone with the right build.
I had a bunch like that in ToA, they where 7/8 and blindinvited my Nekro. Since I hadn't anything to do, i accepted, curious what they wanted to do. We went into Fissure rather fast, they never asked what I was playing. But once the bonder started bonding they asked if I hadn't br, and I told them "no, I'm playing curses, but you might have asked befor we got in, if I could bring it." they got all angry, telling me they specificly asked for a supportnekro. Well, not me, thats for sure, and I told them so . Well, we didn't get very far anyways...

God I had the worst encounter ever in LA the other night. In keeping with the policy of not posting names I won't. We'll just call him Fred. Anyway our friend Fred kept spamming over and over and over and over." What did update do?" constantly. While my normal inclination is to snap at someone like that I decided to be nice for once. I said." Go to www.guildwars.com and look under about and then game updates and it will tell you." He then procedded to inform me " I already looked there dilhole[sic](that's right dilhole as in Beavis and Butthead and note the spelling) and all that was there was a bunch of crap." So again I exercised patience beyond what I normally show and said." Maybe you just read it wrong. I'll tell you what I've got a fast connection I'll drop out of GW and go look it up for you." Since I myself had yet to read the update.

Anyway, I go look it up and tell h im" Well according to the notes they have they updated the log in screen to make it easier to add new accounts and keys and they fixed a sound bug. It was all right there on the page." to which he replied." F*ck you my friend read it to me over the phone." Before he said he had read it. At this point I was out of patience and I said." Alright junior whatever man. I'm not going to argue with you anymore. Now you know what the update did so you can stop spamming up the chat now."

So now the guy starts IMing me and saying" Stupid little 12 yr old. Go be a jerk on some other game. you take this too seriously." I just put him on ignore. The minute someone starts bringing age into things as an insult they have to be a kid. I'm a little old to be in a fight with a kid. Still kid or not being a jerk knows no age.

I hate when some teenager who plays gw come to you and start talking with you as a little child... some kids dont know there are some older people in this game

He and one of his buddies created an account on the guild's home GW forum to troll their posts a couple of days ago. They were banned in about an hour. If only Anet could be so speedy.

I've actually noticed that a large portion of the asswipes are adults, not specifically GW ofc, but it is in no way directly related to age.

Just a bit earlier I ask in chat "How much is a icy dragon sword of 20% enchanting worth"? - one person whispers "2k" - I whisper back "I am not that naive" - this person whispers "Oh darn! lol" and "seriously 15k - give or take a couple k"

Person is now on my ignore list.

Ive learned the best jerks come from Sorows Furnace ( I think there is something in the water).
He didnt like my build and i asked him why "I sucked" and this was his proof

i was waiting to get a thirsty river run when i saw a guy "selling the best mesmer staff in the game, 15k" I ask him to see it and it was Gorells Staff. I told him that it was only worth around 1k, its very hard to sell. He told me to shut the F*** up and said that he was trying to scam people. I thought that was a bold idea....

Well, at least, you know he's a scammer.

I just got finished doing the co-op mission at Ascalon. This b**** ordered everyone to skip the movies. I hadn't seen them and I wanted to know what happened. I mean, I did pay for the game, and I'm not playing just to kill things. After I didn't skip the first, she told me I was a "Piece of shit". I told her why I didn't skip. I didn't get angry, didn't curse, I just told her that I wanted to know. She tells me that if this was my first time and I'm lvl 12 that I'm a pathetic noob. She goes on saying that I probably get that alot. I kept my cool and just waited thill it was over, and she kept going on and on about it till it was over.

I'm getting second thoughts about this game. No one I play with seems to care about anyone but themselves, I help out people new to the game (well, newer than me). I sometimes give out my extra weapons I've found to newer players, sometimes other things, I answer question, help with the occasional quest (if I can). They're all arrogant jerks that are full of themselves and/or they want to steal all your stuff.... this game is starting to suck....

Of course theres no arguing with these kinds of people, Guild Wars doesnt offer much for the guy who just wants to kick back and have some fun. Everyone thinks only for themselves and it's starting to bother me. I wish I could try another game but I can't afford it. I worry that idiots like jerk will eventually scare away all the new players who try to play the game. It seems to be a pattern that every mmo follows. I think we should all concentrate on helping these new players. Some friends of mine recently got into GW and helping them out has been the most fun I've had in game in a long time. I think if you stop thinking all about getting the most money or the coolest armor the game instantly becomes a better experience. That's why I've decided ill be keeping my factions accound separate from my prophecies account. I'm going to play guild wars factions in the name of good clean fun, not money.
