You know i really hate the people that call other people noobs but i hate even more the people that flame at you when you point out at their mistake. Once in the FPE i told everyone to target the healer (which of course no one did) so we got our ass handed back on a platter. When i told the leader the mistake, he/she was like:
WTF AT LEAST I DONT PLAY LIKE 3000000 HRS YOU RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOING NOOB.
My time: ~270 Hrs. and i've been playing since the beta.

Was helping a guildie with Gates of Kryta last night on my level 20 and had another lvl20 ele guildie come. We decided to just get some people and saw a level 20 warrior advertising so we took him. Then another level 16 w/e joined up.

Was about to get a hench monk when I saw a ad: "Level 10 monk looking for mssion and bonus" Well great. I went to invite them, and saw they were a Mo/W. Generally this makes me take pause as I am always on the lookout for 55 monk leeches, but I figured, why would a 55 level 19 be in Gates?
So we took him.

As we are going through we really didn't notice that he wasn't healing too much since we didn't really need it. Then he starts falling behind a lot. My guildie we were helping almost died a few times, when I asked the monk why he wasn't healing the ele. He said "sorry, was helping a n00b", to which I said "well help us first please"

At that point I ask my other guildie to keep an eye on his skills while in battle. He said he was using WoH, so he wasn't a 55, or at least not a typical one and we would ocassionally throw a heal out.

Then as we are on the way to the bonus, he just starts spamming his experience bar. Over and over, screen upon screen.

We tell him to shut up and he says "You wanna know what's funny?" to which I immediately responded "That you were dropped at birth?" He didn't speak normally after that. Just kept spamming his experience the whole time.

Also during this our level 16 W/E that we had picked up kept using firestorm and lava font. I asked him to stop and he did after a few attempts. Unfortunately right towards the end of the mission, he died so instead of resing him we just went on to finish the mission. He decided to disconnect instead. What was nice was that about 10 mins later, he pm'd me asking if we were done with the mission and wanted to ask me a few questions. He proceeded to ask again about why firestorm was bad and I explained the agro break and other AoE nerfed spelles. Then continued to talk about runes and setups. Turned out really nice.

I was selling a nice almost perfect req.8 axe.

Me:WTS golden war axe of fortitude,max dmg(req.8),+14%dmg while enchanted>>>7k only<<<
Jerk:ZOMG that's only worth 2k!!!!
Me: Did i ask you something about my price? i don't think so. So stop bothering me
jerk:*spams with insulting mesages*
Me:go away,noob
Jerk:hahaha you call me a noob?

Hope i meet him one day in TA with his so called "1337 warrior". So I can blind him the whole time .

I was doing some boon protting in random arenas, just for a bit of fun and to get screenshots of the comical things that are often seen there.

So, I cast my divine boon, and then pre veil myself... and then the ranger on my team casts natures renewal....

Me: You are aware that hurts me quite a lot right? - (I had 0 energy regen with 2 enchants and I was yet to cast my 2 second mantra of recall which would have been difficult since there were 2 rangers on the other team)

The response I got was something along the lines of

OMG I DON'T CARE JERK IT HURTS THEIR MONK

they didn't actually have a monk, they quite correctly didn't kill natures and a significant amount of my spell cast attempts were interrupted, we lost, what a jerk

My most recent were all in the old tombs with b/p ranger groups. One was on my MM necro and the other was my ranger.

#1.
We had a ranger that decided to bring EoE and drop it right before we did any fighting. The first time he dropped it the entire team said to not do it again since it hurts the minion army way more than the monsters. So about 10 minutes into the second map, after all the popups and two worms in the middle the ranger drops it again. None of us notice until a few minions die and then we see a complete chain reaction as all the minions go down. Needless to say everyone on the team wipes except me (since I'm seeing about 30 +10 energy notifications above my head). Luckily I am able to Rebirth the team and we do finish (without the EoE jackass who promptly dropped after the mass minion death).

On my ranger we had a monk that was really fun of putting enchants on the entire team. This was despite the fact that we asked him ahead of time to bring few if any enchants due to all the mesmer monsters packing Shatter Enchantment. He got pissed because after announcing his build the Orders Necro said it sucked. So the monk decides while we are clearing the middle of the third map to aggro another mob behind us. Well half the team wipes including the monk. We left him on the ground until he apologized. Even after that he was still an ass and would barely heal. Meh... the Orders Necro kept us alive AND I got a Bulwark that run.

Me: 15k
Jerk: Yeah sure. Why is it when I ask for PC everyone says 7k?
Me: I don't know, it's 15k because that's what I want.

Yes, I'm a bit of a jerk too for this, but I'm usually very nice in trades. You don't want to pay my price then I'm cool. No problem. Someone else will pay, but don't abuse me just because I don't want to drop the price.

When the PvE tombs first came out, I was in the market for a Victos Axe. After a while of looking around in trade channel and a few districts a guy (Jerk) whispers me and says he has victos axe and that he will sell it to me for 115k (which was the average price at that time). So I agree but I don't have any ecto on me so I told him I'd trade him 15k first and than trade him the 100k and he'll trade me the axe on that trade. So (I realize I was noobish not to use ectos) I give him the 15k and than I submit my 100k and he just stands there for like 1 minute and doesn't say anything. So I say Submit the axe please? Jerks response: Oh it's on my other character brb.

I'm a trusting guy in GW but I wasn't that trusting so I say give me back my 15k first so I know you don't scam me, I'll re submit once you have your axe.
Jerk: Oh it'll take just a sec don't worry (logs off)

5 minutes later: Jerk has not logged on again yet and I'm still 15k down now
30 minutes later: same scenario, some friends showed up at my house so I decide just to log off and whisper the guy next time I see him on.

Cut to 2 weeks later: Jerk is online. (price has dropped dramatically so I gave up and bought an axe cheaper, now I just want my 15k back)
Me: Hey, you have my 15k and I'd like it back
jerk: wtf are you talking about!?!?!?
Me: (patient) remember you tried to trade me your victos axe but you said it was on your other guy after I had submitted 15k of the 115k for it.
Jerk: Oh yea, well I can't give you back your 15k
Me: (figuring he spent it) Well why not?
Jerk: The price of the axe has decreased and I've been waiting for you (he was lying all my guildies were watching to see if he was online and we never saw him on) so I could sell it. Now the price is 70k so I can't make that big of a profit. YOU ripped me off (Oh, so I ripped him off now huh? he took my 15k).
Me: It's your own fault for not selling the axe after you scammed my 15k, so if you'd just give me back my 15k we could just leave this all behind us.
Jerk: Screw you, I can make like no money off my axe now! You caused me to lose 45k off it because I waited for you!
Me: (explains the entire situation again)
Jerk: stops talking to me
Me: gives up and never talks to him again.

And I'd still like to have my 15k back XP

Last night doing the Frost Gate mission We had a lvl20 necro in the group. Of couse you know what happened. He raised a gazillion minions and left. This is the third time I've seen this and the last time I ever party with a hi-lvl necro in low-lvl missions. I wish I would have remembered to add him to my f-list so I could have griefed him for a while.

See this is why I want a new assassin move called permablind. Can only use it 3 times in your life

just a moment ago, went to try out SF oro farming on my monk as a bonder. so i found a group and told them as soon as they accepted me that it was my first time there as a monk and they say 'ok, we'll see how it goes' everything's fine outside, get in, bond the tank and instantly he says 'barrier, bond, watchful spirit... IS THAT IT?!?!?!' -.-;; then the other monk calls me noob... they then continue to bitch about it even though i made sure watchful spirit was the only bond that ever got stripped. as we continue, it's becoming a bad run, no greens whatsoever and the SS necro leaves, then the MM rage quits because of the bad drops causing the healer to get raped by the minions and also rage quits.

earlier in FoW, i joined a party which consisted mainly of one guild, as soon as we get there i don't even have time to bond anyone and they rush off to kill with the expected results; half the team are dead. happens again once everyone is ressed and they have the nerve to blame me and the healer for being useless. we shortly all died and back in TOA i message him saying it was his own fault for rushing to which he retorts that he and his guild managed fine with one monk before and it was just us monks who sucked.

That is easy to overcome; When they rush in scream "NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!".
When they are all dead, you ask; "What part of "NOOOOOOO!!!!!" didn't you understand?
Make sure to call them noobs, before they call you one. Problem solved

I was selling my Fleshy HornBow +15inStance for 100k + 5 Ectos. This is what happened yesterday.

After that jerk starts to spam in local chat that he shoots arrows to my balls...yeah...

I whispered to him saying: What is your problem?
Jerk: You teazed me to buyz tha bowz by putting it to trade windowz and nowz i shallz shoot arrowz to your butt.
Me: (takin pics and saying) I thought you shot them to my b*lls...
Jerk:I like your butt are you a girlz!?!?!

*In that moment I decided not to waste anymore time with this thingy*
And he was using those Z's in the end of words so much that I don't remember if they were exatcly in those places

I had this conversation in The Wilds.

Me: You are not supposed to run to Draknor. Follow the storyline, and you'll see this game is much bigger than an Ascalon to Draknor run.
Noob: OMG N00B!!!!!!! My level is higher than yours, and check out my stuff. I know what I am talking about.

Today in the UW i had a funny encounter with a Jerk

I enter the underworld as a SS necro with a 55hp monk lets call him jerky
Jerky rushes in and kills the first ton of aatxes with my help... a ecto drops!
Me: yay a ecto its for me
Jerky: ...
Jerky opens a trade chat with 3k in it
Me: its 50/50
Jerky: mi ni lo ping (or something like that)
Jerky sits down
15 minutes passed (i love annoying people)
Jerky: spams the same message over and over again
I leave....

So far so good atleast i got an ecto
*Drinks some coffee*

I just had my first jerk! I was doing a Tombs run. On the 2nd lvl we lost out MM (had to leave), then lost a ranger on the 3rd lvl (was disconnected). So we were taking it easy and finially got to the end.

So we start killing the bosses and an Victo's Axe drops for me and Kole's Torment for the monk. And we are having a hard time killing them and some of us die and so we rez and regroup, well needless to say one of the rangers waiting until the items timed out (there is still one boss left to kill) run up takes them and of course leaves! I guess the only way he could get greens was to steal them :/

Oh and btw... that was the first grren the monk had ever had drop for him. Nice eh?

Ninjas are always so nice yeah :/...

Maybe items shouldnt go available to all after period of time, and if you don't have time to pick one up before mission is ended or you have died, you still get it when going back to camps.

At least that would solve many sad situations.

I met a guy in droknars yesterday. Completely naked.
He gave me 1666gold for no reason.

I then noticed he qwas giving more stuff away to other people so I asked him why he was doing it.

He told me he had found out his neighbours password and wanted to piss him off so he gave everything away.
I tried getting as many items and gold as possible but it seems that the guy whose pw was stolen only had some crappy equipment and max 1666gold.
I got a large amount of worthless items and those 1666gold. He was about to give me a lot of dyes but my storage was full so I kept him busy by asking some questions.

While I was keeping him busy I tried contacting some people on my friends list to come and grab the dyes so we could later return them to the real owner of the account.

He gave me a lot of information. Apparently his neighbour is a "jerk" who burns videogames for a living.

He had to leave before I had a chance to get the dyes.


I later bumped into a guy who was in the same guild and asked him if he reallyw as in the same guild.
As it turns out, the guy had been hacked several times before and seems to be sloppy with his passwords (writing them down and allowing others to see them, etc...)

The original owner hasn't shown up yet =/

Anyway, my jerk story is more of a sad/funny thing.

I'm getting a group together for THK via IRC. I finally manage to get an 8th player (and I do believe that that player was Dral, and I must say thanks again dude). Right as I mention to the party that we've got 8 and we start talking tactics, another person comes up and pm's me.

A Passerby: Hey, you guys full?
Me: Yeah, just got 8. Sorry.
A Passerby /rank (flashes a deer at me)
A Passerby: Ok, man, whatever
Me: LOL

And I imediately tell the mostly Guru team about said obnoxious jerk to the hilarity of us all. We move on to crush the mission in one go, with the bonus.

Too bad, so sad Mr. Rank Flasher. Guess you'll have to find a PUG then, huh?

Ring of Fire mission. A W/E flashes a tiger emote at the start of the mission. I'm just thinking, okay whatever, and let him brag about his 10000 fame and rank 10 account or whatever. I even chat with him and say that I hope I'll get thier some day (rank 1 and slowly climbing using a e-denial mesmer, blood spiker, and warder, all in balanced or spike groups).

Anyway, when we get the spectral essence from the Eidoleon, all 7 people in the team but him pick it up and run back to the seer to pick up the bonus. It is like a 5 minitue delay and we had already killed everything alread.

While we are running back to the seer, we notice he started to die. He had tried to attack the mursatt by himself. I look at the chat log and apparently he had said something along the lines of "okay guys lets go." After he died, he said "where the redengine are you guys?" We tell him we are getting the bonus. He then calls us noobs for wanting to get the bonus because "why do you need it you are all already level 20." We explain that it is for skill points and to infuse extra armor sets. He then proceeds to call everybody a n00b because they aren't rank 10 (he even calls a guy who is rank 6 on our team a n00b PvPer).

We argue with him for the rest of the mission and he dies two more times. I call him a n00b because he did not even realize that nobody else on his team was even on the radar with him when he started to attack. He laughed at us. "Lol, you calling me a n00b. Have you ever heard of <insert moderately good PvP guy in some top ranked guild which this guy is probably claiming to be his second account>"

In the end, we all come to the conclusion that he was just an IWAY fame farmer who didn't know any better. I thought he might had e-bayed an account, but he was not that n00bish and the rest of the team convinced me he was probably an IWAYer.

Just to contrast - here is the anti-jerk version

Regular (ish) PUG in Ring of Fire looking to do the mission (no bonus). Monk joins and flashes up the tiger emote. Group goes through the mission successfully even after another monk drops due in no small way to extremely good healing/bonding from said monk. No ego, no tantrums, just an extremely helpful player

This is what I thought when I see your story. Fame farmer aren't so good in mission either

We were doing THK bonus yesterday and getting the party together, when someone asked what everyone's fame was. Quickly my response "Fame is unimportant in PvE" didn't hear any more about it after that and we went on to finish it up without any real problems.

Strange thing happening lately, I was helping someone out on an early mission with my ranger. Given he has a very silly name and very stereotypical, "Aimtrue Sureshot" but, hell, what's in a name?

So I get a message from like four people saying "Can you say your name outloud without laughing?"

I just start to ignore them and their stupid names. They just keep pm'ing me telling me how it is the worst name ever, even invite me to their vent server. Then they said that they were going to make a new guild in my honor so that it could be seen when they play in HoH.

So now everyonce in a while aparently one of them will just randomly pm me saying something stupid about it. I responded to them that I would love to see my name in the favor message and ask how their battle for favor is going (while Europe has held favor all day). The usually shut up for a while after that.

Then in a mission a day later, we go in and someone says "no offense, but that is the most stereotypic ranger name ever" I laughed and agreed and we all went on to have a good time.

It is amazing what people choose to fill their time with in these games sometimes.

So I was doing PvP in Silverpeak (sp).

Noticing that many people just go off on their own, I pointed a simple rules (which I assumed most know anyway).

Me: Let's make it simple. 1) Rez before fight 2) Rez monk first 3) Kill monk/ele first

Jerk: Let's make it simple. I will fight alone.

Me: Then you will die alone.

Jerk: I am 55 Monk


... needless to say, our team got butchered and he died alone.

Yeah, I know what the topic is about. I was giving background as to why I considered these people who keep pm'ing me to be jerks.

Well, sometime you can got bad names in a group and you know these players are Puggers (Players in PUGs). Anyway I got my lesson last day when I play with my mesmer in Dragon's Lair to help to slay Glint: Never answer a Blind invite = High rate of Pugs. I'd rather to help the newbies of the area than those who think they can kill Glint without problems in a pugs. I was called "n00b" by a Wammo because I haven't Interrupt her Crystal Hibernation (My skills recharged)
