yesitsrob

Did anyone else notice that the price of silver went up in the last few days?

With the 3 Silvers and yellow dye this was the best I can get for My Miss Powder.

I tried the Yellow + Silver + Silver + Silver combo for my 15k Aeromancer's Armor and it turned Light Brown....not white, but awesome color!
I'm lazy to read all the pages in this thread, so does anybody still have a good combinations of dyes they wanna share?

Dam! Sorry for the Double Post!

As I've only used 5 dyes on 5 different pieces of armor, I really have no clue on actually HOW to mix them. Is it that you put dye on dye? Or all the dye on one piece of armor?
Mustache Mayhem
it's dye on dye up to 4

Double click on 1 dye then apply it on another dye.

Granite Citadel Ascetic set using 1x silver dye only.

I mixed black with silver then added a touch of dye remover. All that together with 4 doses of purple dye made a really great white!

Iv'e tried Y+S+S+S on both my warrior's shield and gladiator chest piece, the shield came out great altough i think it may look similar to silver only... anyone got a screenshot of such a shiled dyed silver?
The chest piece is rather cream colored, looks like the 15k version of Gladiator's makes this mix look more white
Basicly the shield's original color is a kind of gold, a little darker than the original gladiator's armor I think...

heres a pic;
Or I could just tell everyone that general baby blue can be created using a simple mixture of Silver + Blue + Silver if you want to look lighter.
See my avatar pic for an example. And do share... greed is not a good thing

Please read the thread [and may even the first post].
Of course there isn't white dye. That's why we're trying to come up with something close.

To save anyone reading this a bit of money: on 15K Gladiator's armor or Warrior FoW armor, Silver+ Silver+ Dye Remover gives the exact same result as Silver+Silver+Silver+Yellow, I just this minute tested it. I'm also suspecting that one Silver+Remover might give the same result, but since I've spent so much on dye I'm not willing to test it anymore.
In some lighting, this combo appears white, while in others it looks gold, but most of the time its a nice white-gold colour.
In this pic, the chest piece is dyed S/S/S/Y and the rest is S/S/Remover

it does not work on mesmer FOW armor, even 4 silver + 1 yellow doesn't work.

I have a perfect working white Monk Fissure armor mix. It's not cream, nor is it off-white. It's white, or to the skeptic a very light gray, but there's no hint of color as with the yellows.
Combo is simply blue+silver, since blue is the base color, and dyes work reverse on monk fissure, it seems to 'cancel out' the blue, but it doesn't look silver (since it's cloth), leaving you with a near-perfect white.
The cream tatoo I'm wearing is blue+orange, then silver.
edit: I tested a silver+blue+silver mix, and it did indeed make it a bit brighter, without having a blue tint. The 2nd one is the 3 dye mix. I also tested a silver+blue+silver+silver mix, but that came out light blue, which is not what i wanted.

I have a question. If the armor is already dyed with a color for example silver, then you put a blue dye on it, what's the result? Is it the same as putting blue dye on a non-dyed armor or like mixed silver and blue dye?
Amok
Its the same as putting blue dye on non-dyed armor. The only time you will get a mix of colours is when you mix two or more bottles of dye before applying it to the armor. Any dye you add to an armor will ignore the dye that's already on it.
Malmer
I tried it on the 15k studded.
The vest to the left is plain silver, and on the right I've used yellow+silver+silver+silver.
As you can see on the studded it becomes no whiter - it only gains a yucky yellowish tint.
So don't waste it on the studded

Nice Idea to put it here on a forum
Here is gold dye:
yellow+silver=mix1
Orange+silver=mix2
mix1+mix2= gold dye
You must mix the mix1 dye and mix2 dye togetter or it will be another color gold. have fun

there is NO universal dye mix. all mixes depend on what you're dying.

Hey all, I've only fiddled around with my Elementalist...but this is what I have:
Male Elemenalist
Pyromancer Armors + 1 Silver = Pure White (not shiny)
Hydromancer Armors + 1 Silver = Light Gray/Silver (shiny)
Pyromancer Armors + 1 Yellow = Pure Yellow (not shiny)
Hydromancer Armors + 1 Yellow = Drity Gold (shiny)
Hydromancer Armors + 1 Silver + 1 Yellow = Pure Gold (shiny)
...maybe 2 silver = thinner color but shinyer gold?
So far this is what I have...sorry. Ever since school started back up, I haven't had time to experiment with stuff. I have no guild, and have about 30+k in my stash
Some of my chars?
Lord Subzero = All Pyromancer Armors + 1 Blue = Semi-light blue
...heck, he kinda does look like Subzero without a mask, if you give him blue hair
Maester Squall = All Hydromancer Armors + 1 Silver + 1 Yellow = Pure Gold color!
Give him the gold hair with front/side bangs, looks pretty cool
...should try!
Thanks all, please post more on these =D

Well, I got encouraged to dye my 15k Plate Warrior White. So I did. And this is the result:

I like the result, better than my orange.
Thanks guys for the information!
*edit, looking at the pic I can see a red glow, that's just the environment, it was made in front of DF.

Anyone know if the formula: Yellow+Silverx3 will work on 8k Necro Scars?
Manic Smile
yes...the answer is no...far as I know I haven't been able to dye my 8k nec scars...all the colors come out funky...besides could be worse then red I suppose
sno
Dyes only work for the shadow on 8k scars, which is BARELY noticable. You can see this by comparing the normal color with one dyed silver. The silver one looks crisper, with thinner lines. The normal one has a reddish tint.
