zwei2stein, by having a bigger base energy you can afford to put up more costly enchantments prior to fighting. Switching to a + energy staff...

Unstoppable + conviction armour doesn't stack, so there is no need to use both. It works ok survival wise, just after 20 secs your energy is gone

Tried the dervish build, it doesn't work. Absolutely no e-management. I gave the hero Essense Bond and Balth spirit but didn't realise...

The build i used was zealous vow meaning 9-12 energy gain per hit. Is this the build your talking about?
