They kept Empathy, Gaze of Fury, and other skills well suited for PvE. I see no problems and Healing Burst may not be perfect, but it's nice...

As a caster you should be casting so the damage type on the wand/staff won't really matter.

It will likely fail against Earthbound Ooze (ele) as an example.

Not if they cast a different type of spell or if they're not a caster.
