It's a pain to be scammed for sure but unless the scammer is using some illegal process to cheat you then it just comes down to his word...

Get to droks at level 1 solo. Then you could claim "you" did something otherwise it's just an achievement of the party that ran you...

And you can't use runes on your monk skills when it's a secondary so that's kind of limiting as well.

The earth spells Armor of Earth (yaks bend) and Ward against Melee (Ascalon Settlement) can help alot (not sure what part of the game you are in).

Where is the desert collector with the focus item?

As much as you want and it resets the attribute points each time on your secondary so mistakes are easy to fix.
