Have you tried using watchful spirit instead of mending? I just don't like the idea of spending 8 points into healing just for an extra 2...

With smite at 16 how much damage does this signet do?

Are you wanting to go with a full party or doing a 3-4 man run? What weapon do you use? Are you looking to do just smite runs or clearing?

I believe there are a few trouble shooting tips on the guild wars web site in support. You should check there and see if you can solve the problem.
