Thing which puzzles me, is some npc's (the 'big cheese' ones I think for both sides) specifically say you can buy faction off people....

Read the name the NPC reads out in the screenshot. Read the name you typed in the bar.

what you need to do is get some faction for the kurzicks. Not alot, just enough for them to say soemthing other then 'Go away!'. Then buy...
