I thought that at first, but I double checked by making a mesmer (who's armour is green by default) and still had that brown dye colour to select.

AFAIK the combo strings only work for that assassin. So one Assassin can do a lead attack but if someone does an offhand attack then nothing's...

it WAS a spell. Then it was changed to a skill. Also, life stealing spells now don't get effected by damage reduction spells. 8 blood magic...
