Energy Tap, Energy Drain, Power Drain and Drain Enchantment are your friend There are some more that give you energy (Inspired Hex/Encantment etc)...

Not true, if you do more dmg than the Guards you will get a drop. I solo him on my Me/N with a similar build, got the bow on my 4th run

Dmg: 15-21 Req. 9 Swordmanship Dmg +15%^50 Lengthens Deep Wound by 33% HP +30 The only downside is that it isn't max.. but it's only 1...
