Found a non-max longbow in the desert, stats as follows: 14-26 (req 10 - non max I know, and sucky req) +15% in stance sundering 20/20 armour +5...

It _is_ another normal quest. But if you follow it through it'll take you through an ice cave and down to the Gates of Kryta.

I'd definitely advise Prophecies first, it's easier to get a handle on if you're new to this kind of game, and you level more slowly...
